I have been ready since the day I filed. But thanks for the positive words !!
I told my husband I really think this will be our week. He said maybe they will get to our file in another few years ( trying to be funny )

yup, that is exactly what I was thinking... YOU HAD MY FILE FOR 10 MONTHS AND YOU HAVEN'T EVEN DONE THE BACKGROUND CHECKS?????? They don't even check much in this stage anyway.. They are pretty much verifying citizenship, whether or not you were free to marry and the background checks to make sure you aren't on any lists.... The NVC and Embassy process everything else....
the background checks take us out of the queue. I guess so they can buy more time... its such a backwards system.. If they didn't get paid til the file was processed we would have all been approved a long time ago...

uhhhh yea, I was confused by that too. Our lawyer told us you never send originals in the initial package. Only photocopies.. even of the photos. Even the translations were copied and sent. Sounds like its a BS RFE ... asking for something stupid to take it out of the queue. Oh how I hate this process...

I was notified last week that our extra security checks were resolved ave my files are now with an adjudicator. I think they lost our files and ran out of excuses so they used the EXTRA SECURITY CHECKS as the excuse. That's just my opinion though. Hopefully this week for us DVMAN

I just tried doing that... it told me my case number is invalid.... I think because I just put in a service request yesterday over the phone ... if that's not the reason then there is a glitch... What a surprise

I just posted this in the April thread.. I feel like the backlog will not go away. They set it up so they have to keep renewing and paying a fee. So here come the first renewals... and the backlog remains. I don't see them getting to the 5 month processing time by MAY.... No way in Heck

Ohhhhh I have heard it all .
As of Dec 30th I was told my cases are assigned to an officer. Recently I have been told there is a delay because my cases are undergoing additional security checks...( come to find out from my Senator's office that she has SEVERAL cases with the same excuse)
My husband and I are the most boring people. What could they possibly be checking? We don't have common last names and he comes from a country that doesn't even have a military. I have a previous marraige but my divorce decree and translation are in my package. I am a USC.... I have only ever had one speeding ticket in my entire life ( back in May 1992) LOL
My theory is... they ran out of excuses so they are telling everyone they are undergoing additional background checks that cannot be expedited... I guess they think that will make me sit down for a while....

Yesterday I received a status update in the mail saying my K-3 is WITH an adjudicator but waiting for security checks to be completed. My BIG question is...... Why did it take 10 months for someone to run a security check that they KNOW may take a while ? Doesn't it make sense to have a separate security dept where the security checks are initiated so it doesn't create a problem or delay later when the file is actually on someone's desk?

Have you called to find out where your file is? Not tier 1 you need tier 2 or call your congressman to make an iquiry

I think assigning to an officer means they received it at the service center. How can they be assigned April through July? Its just one more thing to say to the callers to shut them up. Now they are saying the files are undergoing background checks that can't be expedited.. Well of course they can't... and if you read the blurb when you check your stats online, it says initial review is when they under go background checks... so what the hell have they been doing with my files for 10 months.
I'm sorry for ranting today. I'm so P!ssed off and stressed out.
Lawyer said K-3 is super slim to nothing chance of going through. He said to expect the I-130. What a crock of Sh!t. Why the heLL did he even bother filing it then???? I am supposed to stop watching the clock and find something else to think about while I wait for my approval. How nice is that???
