  1. I submitted an online fee payment and it showed up today as PAID, however the website would not allow me to print the document cover sheet or email it. The server seems to be messed up. Have any of you incurred this problem, and how long do you think it will be to fix this? I would email NVC, but I know the reply would take days and I hope the problem is fixed sooner than that.

    Thanks for the help!

  2. Need to vent a bit. One of the things suggested to show an ongoing relationship is to have a co-mingling of finances. HAS ANY ONE IN THE USA TRIED TO GET THEIR WIFE ON A JOINT ACCOUNT WITHOUT A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER ? Duh ? My wife is still in Colombia. I am in USA. She can not get a social security until she gets here. How in God's name does Immigration expect you to show a co-mingling of finances ? Oh, we do have a joint account, but it is in Colombia. They seem to be a bit brighter down there. I hate bankers!!!!!

A joint account isn't absolutely necessary, you can get sworn notarized affidavits from people who can attest to your marriage. Maybe this is easier for you.

  3. Hi guys, I tagged on to the end of another thread a few days ago and am afraid no one saw it, so I'm making a thread in the right forum, I hope!

    old thread

    Issue:

My wife, the petitioner, moved back in with her parents to save cash while we go through this process. Her mother is going to be a joint sponsor and so we are filling an I-864 for the petitioner and an I-864A for the joint sponsor as we all live under the same roof. We also have our Grandmother-in-law living in the same house, so with me, the immigrant, included, the total household size is 5.

So I am putting the following, please can anyone confirm that I am correct.

    21a. 01 - immigrant

    21b. 01 - petitioner

    21c. 00 - although married, I assume 0 is correct.

    21d. 00 - no kids, no siblings under 21.

    21e. 02 - Father-in-law and Grandmother-in-law.

    21f. 00

    21g. 01 - Mother-in-law is co-sponsor

    21h. 05 - total household size

A further question is that because the father-in-law and grandmother-in-law has enough income to sustain themselves, they don't consider themselves "dependant" on the co-sponsor or the petitioner, so does that make a difference? I wouldn't think so, but I need to satisfy their worries.

I have a similar situation, so I have the same question, I hope someone who has already filled this out can give you a positive answer, that's how I was thinking of doing it..

  4. As per instructions I read for K3, you file I-130 first, and when you receive your NOA1, you send in the I-129F to the same place your I-130 is pending. Decide if you still want the benefits of K3, you may not even want to have your I-129F anymore. I started K3 and was at CSC and when I realized they were being processed at a similar rate, the IR-1/CR-1 route made much more sense for us.
