  1. Why do you have to suffer because of this" black" guy...leave him and move on with your life..file charges against him, adultery, gather all the evidences you can get...report him to the immigration as well before he play tricks on you...why do you have to give your salary to him..he sucks....love should not be suffering,it should make you happy...it shows he is immature and doesn't really love you..i guess...

  2. How can you establish a real relationship if you haven't met in person, most of the cases at US Embassy they asked for pictures. It's also a way for you to know him better;let him come over and visit you first... so he can meet your children and if he can accept them as his own..and you will be able to know somehow what kind of person he is..it might be traumatic for the kids if they will go to the US and then your man might not really love them as his own,or he might not treat them right.I asked my husband to go to the Phil.first so he could meet my son, and when i saw that they have a good relationship and my son accepted him as his stepfather, that's the only time we decided to petition him..consider also the feelings of your children and thier future.yes it's good to go to US..lot's of opportunities, but it can also be a nightmare for some..

  3. We have bad experience sending mails via Phil.post office,my son's cards for us,letters, documents usually arrives 3 weeks to one month ...it's so slow...so we use fedex,UPS and LBC instead.

  4. after visa approval, she needs to wait again and go to window 37,additonal instructions will be given there and then payment of visa delivery at the booth of air21. Does anybody knows how many days before the visa will be delivered?

  5. Dear VJ,

I just want to ask anybody who have the same experience,or who have answers ....my son and i will go to Hongkong this last week of Dec..but he is having his medical exam at St. Lukes,we're almost done,we'll be back on Tuesday for the result of the x- ray,but can we take his passport back and return it to them since we will travel to Hongkong?I read that St. Lukes will take the passport and will be the one to forward it to the embassy..My son's interview ill be on Jan.27,2009.

  6. To"Atty" Rea,better than the real lawyers, grabe! Galing talaga ..i am so happy for you,and again thank you for your advices, kindness and for sharing your life story with us,i should say i did learn a lot...God bless you.

  7. Hi Dr.Gracey nice to hear from you... Yes you can do on line too because it's kinda difficult to travel to another state and review, though Kaplan offers hotels where you can stay, but having a child is also difficult since you can't just leave them...Firstaid is what I am using now,step1 USMLE as my guide reference,i also have FIRST AID Q&A for USMLE STEP 1,FIRST AID CASES for the USMLE STEP 1..though of course different doctors will say different things when it comes to review centers or reviewers that is really of help..if your friends say so then it's good they could guide you;like me i also depend on my relatives and classmates as well now working in the US for advice, since it's really difficult for me to review over and over again, doing all those memory recalls...sometimes i find it boring already and it makes me sick.. :crying: but I am sure you'll find it easy because you're practising it.Good luck on your journey,God bless you.

  8. Yes ,need to pass the step 1 fist;but we can take the step 1 anywhere since this is computer base, even in the Philippines we can take it there, same as for step 2,though the step 3 ,it is taken in US...practical part of the exam, diagnosis of patients,P.E.,labs. to order and how we can deal with patients from the time he comes in the clinic;observers/doctors will be there to grade;i am sure she'll pass this with flying colors because she is practising her field in the Phil .. my cousin in Maryland told me ,eventhough he finished his residency at Phil.Gen. Hospital ,internal med too like your wife. he still repeated his residency training here in the US...i am using a guide book for the mean time, the USMLE STEP 1 ,it's really useful, all information is there ,on what to do,what books to review and requirements. With regards to PA,even doctors can't be PA,it is a rule that to be aPA,one should undergo training and have certification, eventhough you're an MD already, you still need to study the PA course, which i find ridiculous, since MD studied 10 years and intense training is provided for us...

  9. When i went to DMV they told me i can use my international driver's lisence that i got from the Phil.but after that i also took the test at DMV and i already have my driver's lisence.

Now i am reviewing for the board exam,i bought books for the USMLE,trying to review on my own first as what my friends here told me,then i will try to get in touch with a review center like Kaplan...

Teaching is good but then i'd rather work in a clinic or hospital setting, for the mean time i am enjoying myself as a housewife taking good care of my husband while he goes to work;glad he likes asian food...and of course trying to be patient waiting for the NVC to send my son's schehdule :crying: ...we are asked for further documents that we're working on now. ...kinda depressing..

  10. With regards to greencard.. Upon entering US,she'll have her greencard and she'll be able to work, able to get a joint account which you can use as evidence of bonifide marriage after 2 years to remove the condition;my husband and I make it a point that the bills like phone, electricty are both in our name, and our immigration lawyer ask me to collect it for the removal of the condition after 2 years, application starts 90 days before the issued greencard expires. She can also travel in and out of the US without any problems as long as she carry her greencard when she travels out of the country.

I had a hard time opening a bank account before when i haven't had my greencard yet, banks require greencard and Social security number even if you have USC husband or wife.

  11. Hi just want to share my experience when i first went to US;I have an international drivers lisence that i got from the Philippines before if left,it is valid for one year,i was able to drive anywhere;and then i got a booklet from the DMV to study so i could take the driving computerized test;after which ,i was able to pass the actual driving test next and able to drive now. With regards to practising medicine,i can't ,because i need to pass the USMLE first,it is a 3 steps to be able to practise;i tried to apply as a medical assistant but just the same,.some clinics eventhough you're a doctor from another country, they would still want an applicant to have the medical assistant certiificate, some don't require. It depends on the clinic managers what their requirements are.I know she'll be able to get a job fast because she is intelligent and professional.

  12. What's important is that the two of you are there for her to guide her;she is still young and will able to adjust easily and would learn to speak with your accent as well.If you will live in CA or Las Vegas, there are Jolibee;if not there are alot of Asian market/grocery stores across US that your wife can find ..from alamang, achara to chippy..anything is there. When i first went to US,my husband right away find an asian store for me to go to and subscribe to a Filipino channel so that i will not be bored in the house watching US channels...I'm sure your daughter would like to have a Filipino channel, check dish network and Direct TV provider. Good luck on your new journey to life .
