Yeah, but the prob is when we are looking at going back to China for 5-10 years. I know she can get special visas, but the number of jobs open to foreigners is limited when compared to chinese nationals. So her getting citz doesn't, by itself, solve the chinese part.

Yeah, we are in a position where we are prob going to be living in one country for 5-10 years and then moving back to the other. Our jobs might even end up taking us to Europe... So because of our time frame it would be stupid to file for ir1 every 5 years. So I am really trying to figure out how she can get both (japan as a gateway?) and me either get z1s or a d visas toward the end (retirement).

Her sister is going to stay in China for the time being so mom is going to be staying in China prob perm. Even I have been considering moving back to China at the rate the u.s. is going downhill lol (half joking). You going to try and do something like that? On a side note, what do you think about holding u.s. and chinese passports (I know officially you can't)?
