NVC got the packet 4 on January 26th 2008......I talked to an operator last night and was told that they NEED both AOS and Packet 4 to give a case complete and the AOS was already reviewed and accepted

3-4 days before case complete......I am sure we will hit the January 31st deadline.......Will call them tonight to see if its been scanned into the system......

My husband had his interview on Tuesday and was approved! They didn't ask him anything except to swear that everything we had submitted was the truth. He received his passport with the CR-1 visa today via courier. I didn't feel like we could truly celebrate until it was in his hands. He will finally be HOME next week!

I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as you complete your journeys! Best of luck!

Will the automated voice message change once they send packet 3 out ?

Or does it stay the same like it is at the mo saying "immigrant visa bill paid ,will contact for further instructions in few weeks"

What I noticed about the automated voice message is that it's one day behind. I think it only updates once a day and you will find out the day after if there is an update on your case. That is why I recomend talking to a representative.

WOO HOO!!! Our AOS fee bill came in the mail today (with the IIN obviously with it) so we JUST paid it online. It's so handy to be able to do that!

Ok so just double checking here...as soon as it shows "paid" I can go ahead and send in the I-864 stuff right? Yay! What a fast process....

Dont forget to print coversheet.

In addition to printing out the coversheet I also printed the receipt that shows the $70 and $400 has been "PAID" and sent it in with the AOS and DS-230

Also, we can submit tax transcripts instead of tax returns and W2's is that correct?

Yes you can send in tax transcripts. It will be a good idea to send them in for 3 recent years. I know they only ask for one, but some do get a RFE to request the other 2 years.

Update: I called NVC last night and they acknowledged that they had received mail from me. At first they would not tell me what it was but then i asked again if it was both the AOS and the IV packed and the lady confirmed it. She said to give them a few days. Hopefully I will get a Case Complete soon.

Give them a couple of days to review. By Tuesday you might get case complete.

hi guys, i just sent the IV packet today and the AOS yesterday...hopefully there will be no RFE and that i will get a case complete soon...do you guys know how long it usually takes once you mail out these forms? thanks

Within three days after I sent AOS and DS-230 our case was complete. Hopefully you hear some good news by the end of this week.

When I called to ask when the interview was going to be scheduled, they said the second week of February. Is that true? Do they schedule CR-1 interviews before second week of the month?

my husband called NVC. our case is complete since last week. but we didn't make the interviews sheduling this month. so guess is nothing left to do for us but wait and ask again in february. good luck to those who r still in the process with NVC.

No I did not write the case number on the original official documents. I didn't want to mess around with those docs

When you submitted the DS-3032 did you create your own bar code and did you send a cover letter with it or just the form? Thanks in advance

I just called NVC and listened to the AVR system and found out that my DS-3032 and IV bill was generated and mailed on Jan 16.

I wanted to know that if you only Email the DS-3032, do you get the acceptance reply through Email or by Mail?

and If you only Mail the DS-3032, how do they let the petitioner or beneficiary know that the DS-3032 was accepted?

Hey Bigblue,

Now that it's generated, it would be good to email AND mail the form out. That's what the Wiki guide for NVC recommends, I'm doing that as well! I believe you will get an acceptance via email, and then hopefully the AVR will be updated.

From what I've read if you let everything happen through snail-mail then it'll take months! As SOON as something is generated or accepted, boom, you go to the next step. That's what allows you to fly through the NVC process.

I recommend and say mail a hard copy of DS-3032 as well. Use express/overnight, more secure. The hard copy was accepted well before the email for our case. The email was processed for us when I was going to mail out the DS-230 and AOS.

I will call back tomorrow and confirm with them if they can schedule a interview for February or not. I really want to get this over with, it's been such a long journey

I have a question about the i-864.

I will be needing a joint-sponsor for this form but she does not live with me. So does she just fill out the i-864? I already have mine filled out although my income does not reach the 125% poverty line.

and also, for household size, it says for persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit, letter c says "if you are currently married, enter "1" for your spouse" but then it says don't count the same person twice.

Hi lovehappenss, if the co-sponsor does not live with you then she needs I-864 form.

For my case, we didn't enter "1" for your spouse because they said do not count anyone twice, since you already enter "1" for the immigrant you are sponsored. (Just my understanding though)

I had every single document needed for NVC ready by the time our case made it to NVC. Right as we were approved at USCIS I had my husband mail me all of the documents that needed his signature. I-864 and DS-230 were ready to go and DS-3032 hard copy was ready as well.

Do not go by the automatic voice recorder at NVC, I noticed its one day behind. I would always confirm my case status with the operater at NVC. Also, follow LingChe guide,,,,big big big help. THANK YOU Now I just hope we get an interview soon.

I'm waiting for an interview now as well. When I talked to the operater this past Friday she said that they are still scheduling February interviews. I guess this is another waiting game.

HI all............... I am new to this website ..........can someone PLEASE tell me generally how long it takes for the interview date to be set up once nvc completes case? My case was completed on Dec29 2008 and i still havent received anything. I know it may sound like im being impatient but I got married in jun 2007 and am still waiting for my husband to get here. Its a shame it takes this long for a US citizen to bring their spouse over.

Where can i can to get info about the interview date. I called the visa bulletin number on the NVC website but that is sooo hard to understand.

I called the nvc info line and all that says is "case was completed on 29dec2008 pls allow 8 weeks for further info"

The NVC schedule 2nd weekd of the each Month. So You can call back On the week of Feb.9th.

My case was completed on dec 24th.

The operators ladies dont know anything except the info they see on the computer monitor.

will have to wait 3 more weeks.

Our case was complete this past Friday 01/16/09 and I'm hoping they schedule an interview for February. When I talked to the NVC operator lady she said that I might get a February interview. I'm keeping mu fingers crossed

Wow. I just called NVC asking about the DS-3032 being generated and I got some jerk of a lady! I was super nice to her. Yesterday I had a nice lady, but this one was a witch! I said "has the DS-3032 been generated yet?" She said "NOPE." That's all she said!

Wow....anyways....I'm going to try again on Monday! HOPEFULLY by then it'll be generated.

I called NVC many times and sometimes you get some jerk on the phone and sometimes nice ones. Don't let that discourage you call back if you have any questions or if you want to see where you stand with your case.

i just called NVC and they have scanned the case in their system are currently reviewing it - fingers crossed!!

How long does the review process last? Could we hear something tomorrow or will it be at some point next week?
