  1. Hi,

I am going to be travelling to my home country with my baby who will be a USC without my husband who is a USC too. I am on a CR1. Do I need my husband's authorization to leave the country with his child? Is there like an official paper to show? Of course, my husband knows and is OK but I just want to make sure that I am not gonna have trouble leaving the country, as if I was stealing his child.

Thanks for your responses in advance.

  2. OK, here is again a date question since my husband works abroad and I need to file for ROC. Can we sign the form now (he is in the USA) and send it in 2 weeks (when he is abroad). Would that be a problem for them to receive forms that have been signed 2 or 3 weeks before? (as long as both dates are in the window)

My reason for not sending it now is that I don't want to go to the bio appointment alone when my husband is abroad since it is REALLY far...

  3. Oh my god, I never thought that those 2 years would go by so fast. This is amazing!

So I need to remove conditions on my green card. I know that I need to do it in a 90 days window before the 2 year anniversary. However, for personal reasons (my husband being abroad), I can't do it early in the 90 day periods. Can I do it in the last 20 days? Is it risky? Are the 90 days for the day of posting or for the day USCIS need to have received it?

Thanks in advance. I have been using this website so much while getting my green card the first time, and I am happy to be back.

  4. The question you raised about the window is so right. When i went to my interview in Paris, I had 2 binders. But I only stayed on the other side of the window. And they never asked for proof. But I would have had to fold it to make it go by the little hole.

My lawyer had advised to classify everyhting with a photocopy: the original on one side, the photocopy on the other.

  5. As I just come back from my interview, I have the impression now (and I know that it is easy to say now) that these are details. I have been going with my husband's name for almost a year now, and my convocation for the interview was with my maiden's name. At the interview, they asked me which name I used to issue my visa. Just do as she wants, that's it. It's no big deal (again, I say it because I am done; there is no criticism from me; I understand your stress). Good luck for all.

  6. As for me, my objective is to kill time with a lot of work. It is very motivating to make a lot of money to save for when we are together. Taht's about it. My only objectives are work and money (which is not at all like me in normal time; I am not a materialistic person at all. I just find it motivating to kill time with hard work in prevision for unemployment when I quit my job).

  7. (1) when they ask for the "applicants" documents, are they are refering soley to her? such as;

    Birth Certificate

    Court and Prison Records

    Deportation Documentation

    Marriage Certificate

    Marriage Termination Documentation

    Military Records

    Petitioner Documents

Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

    Police Certificate(s)

    Yes, only hers.

    (2) when they ask for "originals" as well as photocopies, i presume that these two seperate batch of docs are grouped or stapled together, one being labled as "originals" and then are sent off together. sound correct?

    For this, I don't know.

    (3) so then, they dont require any informational documents about me at this point? (as far as "petitioner documents" as listed in question 1, the examples they describe dont pertain to my wifes situation)

Nope, it's all about her now.

    (4) at the bottom of the coversheets i printout from the gov. site it states "cr-1" does this mean that we are on the correct path for my wife to receive the 10 year green card soon after her arrival? how much work will this require if in fact the case?

The 10 year green card is if you have been married for over 2 years. Otherwise, you only get a 2 year green card

again, thank you so much. i hope that in some way, my otherwise "simple" questions might also help others like me.

    mahalo, appleegg
