  1. Just wanted to talk about how my call to the NVC went today. They received my case on the 23 of March and I got my case number on that date. I called Monday of this week and learned for the first time that my case was undergoing "additional processing".

Today I was going to be relentless in tryng to find what this "additional processing" meant and how long before my case would be sent on to the consulate. The woman I talked to either did not know anything or just was not very friendly. I didn't expect her to know specifically why my case was help up. She made it sould normal and that the process takes up to 4 weeks. That does not agree to what I have always heard here about K visas - they stop very briefly on their way to the foreign consulate. I asked if my case was being treated differently than others ... I asked why I was sent a letter saying that my case would be forwarded "within a week" to my consulate. I was very polite but persistent in asking what this delay meant.

The only answer I got was that it takes up to 4 weeks and I will be contacted when it is sent on. They always confirm my phone number and email address when I call for some reason. I find it hard to believe that they would ever call me!

I just would love to know, as I suppose everyone here would, why this delay happens and what a legitimate assessment of the wait will be. The waiting isn't the worst part ... Its not knowing how long the wait will be.

Darn it! I've got a wedding to plan!

Thanks for listening to my rant.

we feel what you feel and this is the hardest part, waiting without knowing.

our case undergone additional processing too. nvc received it last february 27. He also received letter same as what you received. my fiance called almost everyday and it does upset us. we just got out of AP march 30.

i suggest just keep calling nvc.

never stop hoping and keep praying. you will be out soon of this AP blackhole.

  2. My K-1 petition package arrived at NVC last Monday (3/23/09). I received the letter over the weekend saying that within a week the petition would be forwarded on to the embassy in Manila.

I called today to see if it had been sent on yet. I was told that my case was undergoing "additional processing" (not administrative processing). The person I talked to made it sould routine. Anyone know if there is a difference between additional processing and administrative processing?

    Thanks.

additional processing and administrative processing is the same.

our case undergone the same processing and i guess it is just the usual name check(just like nbi check in PI).

our case arrived at nvc february 27 and was out march 30.

  5. Bill...

Thank you for posting this thread. You have brought to light what appears to be a dark side of the visa process.

At this point, what needs to be included in this story is Mercy's voice.

I believe that there are some Visa Journey members who could potentially benefit from hearing about Mercy's experience in her own words.

I am willing to pay for Mercy's taxi fare, and her fees at the local internet cafe, in order for he to be able to post her first-hand experience on this thread.

Of course, she is welcome to post here in either English or Tagalog, whichever she is most comfortable with.

I just want to share an insight on hows the interview being done at the fraud unit. ( this is my update on my thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...182021&st=0 )

I had my interview the other day at the fraud unit ( the continuation of my march 12 interview), i brought with me the 600 pages chats, All the emails i sent and i received from husband (because my interviewer said the 20-30 pages emails i submitted initially are not enough) , 300 additional photos, and my government remittances like SSS, health insurance, mutual fund, taxes certified by my employer showing I updated my name to my married name. I had 6 hours interview where my interviewer asked every details about my husband, his job, how he earns his income, his properties, information about his previous marriage - the full name of ex wife, the age, job, how long the marriage last, reason of divorce, who filed the divorce, when the divorce was filed, the name of the kids, age, bday. Also all the details about our relationship, where and when did we meet, what was the first conversation, who started the conversation, how my husband courted me, when we started to have a relationship, when was our first meeting, who initiated the visits, when he said that he wanted to visit me, when he said he wanted to marry me and how things were being said. Who organized the marriage, where is the honeymoon, during his stay here, the places we visited, the date, the reason, the name of the person we visited. In our case we purchased properties, so the proof of the purchase, who initiated the purchase, the reason of the purchase and how things were being said. I was also asked, "If ever your petitioner is not American will you still marry him?", "If ever your petitioner wants to live in the Philippines and no plans of petitioning you, will you still marry him?" , "Did you marry your husband to work in the US?" the last question was "What do you want to say?, anything you want to say.

If your case is forwarded to fraud unit, you should know every small details about your fiancee/husband and also about your relationship. You cannot hide anything, it is not just a simple question and answer, they will find another questions from the given answers, and you should have documents to support your answers. During the interview they will know if you are hiding something or if you are not telling the truth. And they also conduct background investigation to support their findings. They are trying to protect both sides. They are trying to know if there is love (L) involved in the relationship. They will also try to discourage you to continue the application but you have to overcome the pressure and stand out for your relationship. My interviewer said there are some cases that applicants really withdraw their application.

(thank you for reading, just wanna share this experienced :) )

what are the usual reason that the fiancee will undergo fraud interview?

  6. Hi just asking..do you really have to use that $18 Pin to call the USEM? kasi ang alam ko nowadays u can call the embassy na using your prepaid cp d katulad non na PLDT landline lng.

    To my knowledge:

-If you are calling from the United States, yes you have to buy the $18 one time charge to call the USEM.

-If you are calling from the Philippines, you have to use a PLDT landline.

I know this because my fiance tried calling the USEM using her prepaid cell phone and she couldn't get through. :(

How come she can't make the call? i did that many times using my cp when i went home 6 months ago lng.Never had a problem calling USEM from my cp and didnt cost me P59 a minute khit nga 50 lng load ko.Chances are she called a t the wrong time. they have specific time to call for all phone inquiries.

    wow!! is this true?

  7. I like my long hair. I've always received compliments on it; I like having the option to curl it or straighten it or put it up; and, I admit it, my long hair makes me feel feminine and attractive, and my secret?DETOXING!here is how to do it..You can do it yourself at home..

1 teaspoon vitamin C powder (available at any chemist)

    1 teaspoon of cider vinegar

    4oz.of hot water

    Method

    Wash hair with shampoo,rinse well.

Mix all the detoxic ingredients and rinse it through your hair, before applying an organic protein rich conditioner.

Try it girls...very healthy sa buhok:)

    Thanks for the tips.

  8. Application Verification fee? I was looking at a form that said something about this, you have to do some like james bond type text msg after you pay it? How much is this, does anyone know?

Right now the fees I am aware of (thanks to yall and the internet):

    K1 Visa Application fee $ 131

    Medical Exam fee 213

    Document Verification fee ???

I already know about transportation to from manila, copying etc and required costs for that obviously.

document verification is no more. if she is from the philippines, she just need to present a CENOMAR in security paper from NSO during the interview.

  9. Just want to share what i learned from my Standard American English: Diction, Intonation and Enunciation Training from all the call centers i worked for. NCO (XBOX 360 Tech Support), DELL (Tech Support), Convergys (AT&T Tech Support) and the recent was KGB formerly INFONXX (Directory Assistance.. yeah we are those agents from the directory service 411). The recent job was fun cause i get to check the latest movies showing in the US. Got to know all business listings in the US, from different coffee shops to different telecom companies. Anyway, back to the purpose of posting this on board, 2 basic tips i learned from my previous trainings :D .

This is useless to me coz Im into asian movies like japanese, korean and chinese. My english suck but I do learn a basic of japanese, korean and chinese :D

funny thing is, most of the customer service i talk to were either from phil (80%) and or from india (15%) then the rest are US base... im not one of those irate customer. there's just one time incident were i know she's a filipina and i was so mad at her and i get so frustrated coz she wants something that i cannot provide, so instead of yelling or cursing, i just hang up on her. lol... and it was AT&T tech support hahah hope it wasnt you... lol... it was 2 yrs ago... i even ask one customer rep if she's a filipina and she hesitated and admitted that she is and we just laugh... im always surprised when i talk to some people here and for them to say whether if i went to school to learn english or how did i learn my english knowing i can understand and communicate with them  i was like ammm i started learning english since i was a fetus? lol... no, i just tell them its our 2nd language blah blah and its all good.

    :rofl::rofl:

there are people who try to learn speaking, talking or learning english still find it a hard time to do it...speak english fluently...lumalabas pa rin ang matigas na mga pronunciation of words..kahit nga mga pinoy na matagal na dito sa usa di pa rin masyadong marunong magsalita ng english..

ang daming rules of english grammar ang pronunciation...best way to learn it is to study linguistics...hehehhehehe.. pero mas maganda talaga if you communicate to an english speaking person kung gusto mo maging slang speaking ka.hehehhehehe.

    soo true "nod" "nod"

It's good to have the basic english grammar. It needs to have a good and correct foundation if you want to learn english better. Wrong usage of grammar leads to confusions and arguments especially in marriage life. Aside from studying it for your own good, you will be teaching your future kids too. Learning english is not hard. Just Read and read, and read... talk and talk and talk... listen and listen and listen...

Im a wide reader but still my english suck when I speak. Maybe because I read silently.

The truth regarding the English spoken language.......

The drunker you are... the better you speak....forget about the writing part....you really need few extra drinks to excel at that.

But that is simply an opinion....

    very true :D:D

i sometimes pronounced kisses as key-ses and chicken as chee-ken. and my fiance makes fun of me. but he said it sounds cute. lol

just like the Ps replaced into Fs,example: petite pronounced fetite... hubby would say,oh you talking in english?or different language?i murmured something he dont understand and leave :angry:

i can relate to this. :D:D

  10. All right gang...

    Here it is!!

Do you fondly remember Igor's List?

Wasn't that a useful tool to have when you were still at CSC or VSC and waiting for your NOA2?

Now that you've graduated from USCIS and have your shiny NOA2 in hand, wouldn't you like to have a similar list to tell you where you are on the NVC pecking order?

Well, I now present to you.... The all-new automated "Stuck in AP @ NVC" List.

Check it out, let me know what you think. Spread the word around....

    http://apnvc.nxserve.net/vj.pl

This list gets rebuilt from VJ database everytime you reload the webpage. So it's not a static compilation like the old tables I had been publishing previously. Enjoy!!

wow uscandual. you did a great job.:thumbs:
