We received our NOA 1 yesterday.

We sent ours last August 10 and USCIS received it by the August 12. They cashed the check in the 15. Hopefully, everything will go smoothly.

I think bmtrrbt meant people in general. Wag makialam sa buhay ng may buhay - mapa-pinoy man o ibang lahi. If they're becoming dumber and dumber, so? It's not your life to care about. It's not even your loved ones'.. If you aren't one of those Filipinos, whom you said, think highly of themselves so much, then why feel so aggravated. Everyone is different, there are reasons why people change, why people act dumb, why people feel jealous, why people are this and that. Me mga kababayan din naman tayo sa Pinas, like galing sa Visayas or Mindanao, nakatuntong lang ng Manila eh di na marunong magsalita ng sarili nilang dialect like Bisaya. It's pretty much the same.
One shouldn't have to air out something like this JUST SO TO MAKE THEMSELVES AWARE THAT THEY SHOULDN'T BE LIKE THEM.

1. sponsor your mom and dad , it will take 6 months for both of them to be here.
2. they will arrive as green card holder for ten years.
3.they will have to wait 5 years to apply for citizenship.
4. once citizen thye now can sponsor your brother and the kids can go with him.
5. it may take years for visa to be available for married children of a US citizen.may check with your visa availablity at this time and may estimate it.
i thought once the petition parent arrived in the US, they will become an automatic US citizen.

I am also learning how to drive with my hubby as the teacher. The good thing is my hubby will not shout at me during the driving session.
At first, we drive in the vacant parking lot then in our neighborhood and then to the street. Next, he will let me try driving in the freeway
though just thinking about it makes me nervous but I keep telling myself to conquer my fear and nervousness. It's also good to have a goal and
my goal is to drive in the freeway. It may sound too ambitious but that's my way of pushing myself to strive more.

A friend of mine also went to pinas using her maiden name in her plane ticket.
She told me she never met any problem during the trip but she did brought with her her MC just forsecurity
in case she will be asked to show.

I'm having trouble understanding your question.Is your name on your green card incorrect? Or your Social Security card?
my name on the green card is correct and my name on the ss card is correct. things just turn wrong when I applied to remove the restrictions on the ss card. the woman we talked to at ss office told me that my name did not match on the name found at the system of uscis. how come it is wrong when i don't have any trouble when applying for the aos and it is also 2 times that i applied to ss office. first, when i applied ss number on my maiden name 2 weeks after i arrived here and 2nd, when i got married and change my maiden last name to my husband family name. ss staff are really confusing and time waster
If the name on your Form I-551 (Green Card) does not match the SAVE system the SSA office uses to try to verify your immigration on the initial verification request, there are additional steps the SSA office can take to try to verify your status.The next step is to submit a secondary electronic verification request. The SSA office normally gets a response from that within a week. If immigration responds that they need to see a copy of the immigration document, a photocopy of the front and back of the document is mailed along with Form G-845 to the verification office. Figure on at least a month for the response to be mailed back to the SSA office. If it takes more than a month the SSA office has a number they can call to verify your status over the phone.
You need to find out why the SSA office cannot verify your status and at what step of the verification process they are at.
A couple things to keep in mind, your name can be off by one letter and it is still counted as verifing, for example, Bob Smith verifies as Bod Smith would be OK. If the first and last name verify it is OK, the middle name doesn't matter.

I received my Green Card Nov. 21 and on Nov. 24 went to SS office to remove the restriction on my SS card ("VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION") and was told to wait 4 weeks to get it.
Today, husband and I went there (SS office) and ask about our application and was told that my name of the system (SS office or uscis) did not match and show that my maiden last name as my middle name AND last name.
What do I do now?
Who will I call to have it corrected?
And what is the number?
Any help is much appreciated.

I would like to share my Story lol .After I received my EAD card, My husband and I went to our local SSA office on September 8, 2009 to apply for my SSN. After the paper work was done the employee who process my papers said that I will receive my SSC with in 3 weeks. After 3 weeks I didn't receive my SSC, so I went back to the SSA office to check on the status of my SSC. I spoke to the same employee at the SSA office and he told me its probably going to be another week. After I waited I still didn't receive my SSC. On October 8, 2009 I went back to the SSA office and the same employee who process my papers told me that my application was forward to Los Angeles and that I should wait. After checking the mail we still didn't receive my SSC. On November 4 , 2009 we went back to the SSA office to check on my status.This time we spoke to a different employee and I told her that I applied for a SSC on September 8, 2009 and still haven't received anything until now. She then check on my status and couldnt find any paper work so she said I need to fill up another form. When she got done with the paper work she said to come in with in 24 hours, I should receive a SSN.
On November 5, 2009 my husband and I went back to SSA office and spoke to the same employee that we spoke yesterday, She said with the smile I finally have a SSN.
To all of you out there whose applying for SSN you need to make sure you stay on top of it because every employee on SSA office doesn't take their time to review all your paper work. Thanks to the employee who went above and beyond, if it wasn't for her I would still waiting for my SSC.

The card will have “VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION” printed on it. Which the reason it's on there is to keep your from using the SSN as a work authorization document. Does not otherwise affect the card or number, but some people that see that think you have a temporary SSN, so best to apply for the unrestricted card once you have prrof of permanent residency (I-551 stamp or card).
Once again, when you do apply for the unrestricted card DO NOT DO NOT give up your old card until you get the new unrestricted one. If they ask for it say the dog ate it. LOL
i have also the same problem and they get my card too when i apply for unrestricted card. what should I do now?

Hello vj family. I already received my green card and my husband and I went to the SS office to update my status. When the personnel presented to me the paper to confirm if all the data was correct, in the field other name use, I find out that my maiden name was written the same as my family name:
name: w....
maiden name: p....
family name: p....
it should be like this:
name: w....
maiden name: a....
family name: p....
Will this affect any transaction in the future?
