Ok, I'm getting conflicting information....

I had read and been told by people that my wife needs the USEM letter in order to go take her Medical Exam at SLEC.

I have already received the email from NVC stating that she has her interview scheduled at the USEM on April 15th. And she wants to go take the Medical Exam on March 23rd. But now she's getting worried because she has not gotten the USEM letter in the mail yet.

So Yes or No, can she just print the NVC email appoitment letter and take it to SLEC for her Medical Examination??

That i'm not sure coz you are doing the cr1 route unlike what i did was the K1 and we are the ones who needs to call for the interview appointment unlike for your situation you are already given an interview date.

my usem letter was delivered by DHL and my passport with k1 visa was delivered by air21.

Yes as long as you have your manila case # and if your documents are already with the usem you can go ahead and call up the call center and schedule your interview.

I think it would be too late to cancel your lawyer...just do not get a lawyer anymore for your change of status.

I'm in USA now hehe. No Appointment letter until now hehe.so don't wait that letter,call now US Embassy to set up your interview date:)

My fiancée called this morning while I was brushing my teeth. She informed me that she received Packet 3 from the embassy and my package containing the rest of the documents/evidence. Right now she's on an 11 hour overnight bus ride from her little town in the North down to Bangkok. She'll get in early tomorrow, go straight to the hospital for the medical and get the police certificate. I believe she intends to turn right around and take the next overnight bus back up. Hopefully we'll be able to mail Packet 3 back by early next week. I'm praying for an April interview date, but a feeling tells me it might be May.

Coming down to home stretch. Flying over, AOS, removing temporary conditions, etc. are nothing, since I'll have her by my side.

Talking about wedding stuff ..i am all set for our courthouse wedding on the 16th of April which is our 2nd year anniversary. I got a simple white dress, shoes, the wedding rings, my parents on my side as my witness coz they will be flying with me to usa and we also have our marriage license already.

I am actually all set with my visa requirements and just finished the last requirement today which was attending that pre-departure seminar mandatory requirement for all Filipinos marrying a foreign national. I am just to relax and pamper myself...i rewarded myself a good spa treatment massage after the seminar since i am all set to leave on april 14. Just need to pack up my things and do a little shopping go to the salon and fly to Baltimore

do you have your manila case # already? if so, you can already set for an interview.

one question, did you call the NVC if your papers were already forwarded to USEM?

if yes, go and call USEM to have your interview schedule.

yes we have mnl case #, we call nvc and they forwarded it just last week monday.. were just waiting for that letter to arrive to call atty and cancel them, thats our plan. will this work?

Don't wait for the usem letter to arrive before you schedule your interview and go for your medical....as long as u have your case # and mnl# go ahead and make an interview appointment. When you have the email confirmation for your interview go for your medical already, present that email and the scanned copy of your noa2(petitioner's letter with mnl#)

I had my interview march 11 and when i got home after the interview it was only then that the DHL delivered the usem letter telling me to go ahead and schedule my appointment and go for medical. Don't waste time anymore...

I thought since i knew those dates are open i would post if someone is already complete on medical can use one of them

I was at St. Mary's in katipunan earlier today and as i remember the person giving the counseling said that the certificate that they will attach to the passport has no expiry date unless when you are to marry another person then you need to apply for a new one.

This thread helped me a lot during my whole visa process plus the company of the people from this thread as we have similar needs and common things which is the waiting stage...the never ending wait until your NOA2 arrives...as if you have reached the finnish line by then hahaha

I also inquired abut the world perks for Northwest but they said that i can not redeem my points if i am just getting a 1 way ticket.

I already bought my ticket via korean airlines MNL-IAD (washington dulles airport) for $695 + php1,620 i think for travel tax. If you are getting a flight via northwest it is $1000.

This will be a long flight i think it would be like 23 hrs to reach MD.

we do not have a lawyer...i just did my research and a lot of help from visa journey and filed on our own. just hours ago i was able to receive my passport with my k1 visa from air21

i recommend mac no virus and user friendly as well but higher prices but its worth the price

Hello my fellow october filers just want to share my good news...i just had my k1 visa interview earlier and i passed...now i just have to wait 1-2 weeks for visa delivery.

Hi..janice here...i checked your timeline...and i didnt see entries on packet three thing...I got approved in march 4 this year..it left NVC in March 9...do i have to call embassy yet to set for an interview or should i wait first for the packet three toa rrive before calling to set an appointment? thank you.

Don't wait for any packet to arrive coz it might not arrive at all....yesterday march 11 was my embassy interview and when i got home i saw the DHL letter from us embassy manila telling me to schedule my interview and go for my medical. The letter was dated march 5 w/ usem letterhead, it was with dhl march 10 and delivered march 11.

i had 2 vaccine shots during my medical mmr and tdap. i was so scared hahaha lol and i had only 2 injections one on each arm which was kinda painful even after 4 days...unlike some kids who were there had like 4-6 shots.

The pre screener asked me a lot of questions more on my J1 visa coz he was telling me that i had this 2 year residency rule in the Philippines so i told him that i have my waiver for that..he was amazed looking at my documents coz i think i had everything he needed and he asked me if i hired a lawyer. I told him proudly that i just did my research and filed everything on our own. The pre screener then saw my maryland police clearance and he asked me that usa was doing their research, name check and that i shouldn't had gone getting that...somewhat i got disappointed about that coz i told him i called the us embassy manila and uscis and told them my situation that i stayed in Maryland, USA for 19 months and they told me that i still need to get my police clearance from there. At least i am ready with all my documents.

After a few hours of waiting and waiting i was able to go for the consul interview and he just made me swear that i will tell the truth blah blah and asked me a few questions.

Is your name blah blah..i said yes

How did you met your fiance...i answered the consul that i met him while i was doing my culinary internship in maryland.

When was the last time you saw your fiance...i answered that i last saw him sept 8 when i took him to the airport to fly back to Maryland.

No other questions asked...hehehe! the consul was checking on all the forms specially the financial support documents and the pictures.

He then returned the pictures, chat logs, ym records...and kept all the other documents and said welcome to USA.

But i think it depends on cases and which us embassy.. i know here in the philippines it is very different from the other consuls because of fraud...but as long as you can prove a real relationship no need to worry.

Josue is going for his medical today, he just left on the bus for the capital - he has to hide his money in his socks because it's dangerous It's a little scary but we minimized his trips, he is going today for the medical and to pay the $131 visa fee in the same day, then he doesn't have to go again except to pick me up on the 9th, then on the 13th we go together for the interview, then maybe on the 14th to pick up the visa, and then hopefully for the last time on the 19th to leave with me!!!! Everybody have a great day!!!

if you are rushing things you don't have to wait for the usem letter to arrive to your beneficiary before you can schedule the interview. i was keeping track of our case # from USCIS to NVC and to USEM. NVC sent our docs to USEM feb 20 and reached usem feb 24. I also called the call center feb 26 and tried to schedule an interview but they advised me to call back after about 2 weeks. I called back march 4 and i was able to schedule my interview. Today is march 11 and i had my interview earlier got approved and went home and only to find out that DHL just delivered the USEM letter telling me to try to make my interview appointment and go for my medical. I am from Quezon city so it should only take a few days to send a letter to my house but in my case i do not need that letter anymore hahaha. goodluck!

yup i know immunization is the last thing that you need during the medical.

I have maybe 3 photos they havent seen.. we added them but along with the old ones we also sended last time.

I'm better now though, but it took some time to get used to the thought, was surprised of my own reaction just cuz of a RFE :s

Anyways we will try to provide the same things again but add a bit more if we can..

my original interview schedule was for march 18 but then i was able to go for my medical last march 5-6 and then last march 9 i called up usem to try to reschedule my interview to an earlier date and yes i was able to move it from tomorrow march 11th.

Thanks Laura..i'm not yet nervous about the interview i am more worried on not getting a cheap flight to Maryland and flying with my parents would be crazy coz i wouldn't have time to be with my hubby then for like a month coz i need to spend more time with my parents traveling with them around usa.

getting married on april 16th and maybe flying to Maryland on April 13th together with my mom and dad.

I was hoping to fly earlier but they want to spend the holy week here in Manila since we are catholics and we have this family tradition we do prayers during those days until easter sunday.
