  1. Yes but wouldn't the embassy know if your appointment was cancelled? They phone call sounds fishy. Call the embassy or call NVC and tell them that you got a strange call and want to confirm that it came from them.

We did call NVC and NVC did confirm that we had no interview scheduled.

    The email was 'a mistake'

    It sucks!

  2. from what I understand of the situation, the M-I-L is presenting being petitioned by the OP's wife, and is awaiting an interview. upon arrival, the

M-I-L will petition her daughter (F2A), who is now 20 years old, unmarried, and will turn 21 next July.

    You are 100% correct!

Got the email about an interview being scheduled Oct 3rd only to discover it was a 'mistake' and that we did not have an interview actually scheduled and was told there was no idea when one would be scheduled...

I am having my Senator look into it now.

Hopfully Senator Grassley will be able to find out what is happening.

  3. 3 weeks ago we get an email from NVC that says all the processing is complete on my mother-in-laws I-130.

A week ago we get another from them saying they are just waiting for Manila ro schedule an interview.

Then on Monday we get an email that says our interview is scheduled for Oct 3rd!!

Yea!! So we start getting things setup for MiL's medical and I get this cryptic phone call today at 4:35PM from some guy claiming to be from NVC saying our interview letter was sent 'by mistake'...

And that we are not actually scheduled on the 3rd.

When I ask whats going on he says. 'I can't elaborate' and thats it!! Did not even say who he was. Would not answer any questions and would not even say when we might be rescheduled!!

My wife and her family are just devastated!!

Every letter we have received would be held up in court as a legal evidence for NVC to terminate the application if a year went by so why is it also not legalling binding on them as well??

We had a legally binding interview and now they want to just back out of it saying it was a 'mistake'....

    This sucks!!

  4. I was doing advance searches on VJ when I came up with topics that being introduced by a relative to a future fiance/fiancee can be a red flag. In my case I am kind of worry about this. I met my fiancee last year when I went home to the Philippines. I (USC) was introduced by my uncle to my fiancee. The next 11 months we spent the time everyday chatting online and our love developed. In April of this year I went home and spent next three weeks with my fiancee, met her family and she met mine and we got engaged during our engagement party.

Will this be an issue to the USEM that I met her via my uncle? Should I have my uncle write an affidavit about our meeting? Should I have my fiancee friend's or my coworkers write affidavit to show that our relationship is genuine?

Will the following proof be enough to prove our ongoing relationship? Hundreds of facebook chat logs, her postings and my postings on each other's facebook wall with our pictures together taken during skype sessions with date of postings showing up, skype logs, a few emails ( we dont email each other much), greeting cards I sent via LBC. Receipt of Johnny air or LBC packages I sent , flower and bear sent during Valentines day with a receipt from Paypal as well as the vendor , Facetime screen shots, some Google voice and Skype voice call logs.

We also did travel together to various places in the Philippines and we have plane stubs to proved that we were together. We have lots of pictures together from the various places we visited as well as pictures of our engagement party. There are pictures of me with her family . We went to Singapore and have passport stamps to prove our trip as well as plane boarding pass.

If needed I have xoom or western union receipts of money I sent her ,but Im not submitting this since USEM might construe this differently. And just to be sure, I am going with her to USEM during her interview.

Do you guys think we have a strong case to prove our ongoing relationship?

I do not think it will be a problem. How you met is not so important. The quality of your relationship is the important thing.

  5. I think it is the Category on the GC. I'm guessing CF1?

My wife no longer has a GC as she is now a USC. They took it when she signed her papers.

I am filling out papers for my Mother-in-Law to submit for her daughter. My wife's sister.

I am thinking her class would be IR5 but I am trying to confirm it.

  6. Hi Phil&Shir, congratulations!

How long did you guys have to wait? WHen did you guys file?

    Thanks..

    sorry no advice =)

    Hi!

    Thanks!

We filed the I-130 February.... 2nd week or so...

We should have been on the ball in January but did not jump on this right after Shir completed her Oath Taking in Mid-January.

  7. Finally!!

Just got off the phone with NVC. They said Mother-in-Law has a visa number assigned to her and they are just waiting for an interview date.

Got to wait for her medical because they said she will need the letter that will go out when she gets her interview date scheduled.

With all the flooding I expect her interview will be in October. Which is a bummer as we were hoping for a September date. Actually, August was the month we wanted but Oh Well... take what we can get.

So... I have read about folks here using a web site to schedule/reschedule interviews??

Can I use it to look for a sooner interview date or am I restricted because it was NVC that did the scheduling??

Would this visa be delivered any faster than the 'K' class visas? Or is it all in the same boat?

I expect MiL can also ask for a pickup on the visa rather than a delivery?

We are running about 60 days behind schedule and are looking for any way to shave a week or 2 from her arrival date.

    Any thoughts?

  8. Yes she can get the sticker at the NAIA, from what I have read they request you call them in advance ( 2-3 days) if you want to get the sticker at the airport. This is just memory stuff on the advance calling.

Yes there is. With advance notice you can get the sticker at the airport.

Does anyone have this phone number at the airport?

  9. Hello all,

Can my mother in law get her CFO sticker at the NAIA desk anytime?

Or does she need to have a ticket to get into the airport?

I am trying to work out a schedule for her departure day and CFO is one of the remaining headaches.

    Thanks,

    -phil

  10. Will the Embassy accept forms that are copies like the affidavit of support & employment letter?

I sopke with a supervisor at NVC this morning about scanning and sending via emails so papers could be printed there rather than sending a packet.

I was told it 'depends on the embassy', contact them to see if that is acceptable.

But to expect they would want original signatures and that copies would not do...

    Just FYI...

  11. Hellp everyone,

    I have 4 questions:

1# I am wondering how I set up an interview for my mother-in-law at the embassy.

2# What kind of querstions will she be asked and what does she need to bring?

3# When can she go for her medical and

4# As she is over 60 years old, what is the procedure for her CFO?

    Ok, thats 5 questions...

    Anyway,...

    Thanks for your help.

    -Phil
