If you marry and apply for a K-3 visa you will need to return to Canada for your medical and interview.

A friend of my husband's (friend is Canadian) got married in the USA to his American wife while on a student visa. He was required to stay in the USA until his case was approved, but he did not have to leave for a medical or an interview. I believe his interview was in Detroit, Michigan? He was living in MI at the time. Anyways, he got married this past spring and was approved a few weeks ago.

A friend of mine (Canadian) bought and insured his car in the USA while he was there for school. I drove back with him to Ontario the first time he crossed the boarder and the guard was not happy; he let us through since he felt sorry for us having driven hours already, but said we would not be allowed across the next time. They are strict about this policy!

I was just reading about the interview (mine has not been scheduled yet) and I read that we must take two 2x2" photos of ourselves along. Now, I thought Canadian passport photos like the ones taken at Black's or Shopper's Drug Mart are 2.75"x2". Is that correct? If so, how/where do we obtain the correctly sized photos?

The beneficiary (the one being interviewed) is the only one that takes the pictures in. One of them in fact is the one that appears on your visa that's placed in your passport. I went to a photoshop across the street from my workplace that did passport photo's. I told them they MUST be 2x2 as per U.S. regulations. They knew about this, and produced same. Same price as from somewhere else as well.

Hi- this is my first post, but I just read about this requirement and had questions to. I emailed our lawyer (we are so blessed to have one) to ask- I'll let you know what she says.

Seems like a big waste of money imo.

I say blessed because she is giving us her service and time at no cost. She heard our story and wanted to help! So generous.
