  1. Okay, it seems we have a bit of a problem.

Miss DeathNova went to Banco de Credito to pay for the visa and they're trying to tell her that her passport document number (the one embossed on the cover) is her passport number and not the number that actually says "Passport Number" on her passport. Maybe i'm retarded but they're trying to make her fill out two new DS-156 (didn't know it was the banks job to do anything but take money and carry on) with the passport document number.

I told her to go ahead and do it just to get the receipts and then bring both to the embassy to ask for further instructions. I'm assuming i'm correct here or did I just mess up all of her forms by typing the "Passport Number" as the passport number?

In the grand scheme of things, if there is an error once shes at the embassy will they allow her to fill out a new form on the spot or will they send her home?

  2. We sent Package 3 by fax on Monday. Is it true that they'll actually send an e-mail confirmation or do we just need to wait until the end of the month to see the case pop up on the web site? They claim they update the appointments on the 15th, is this accurate?

    Jeff,

Never wait for the embassy to notify you, they some times do and some times don't. So the best thing is for you to find out the interview date yourself, especially because a lot of times their web site is not updated on a regular basis and also because that list is rarely accurate.

So here's the deal, usually the embassy will schedule your interview for the following month if they received your paperwork before the 15th of this month. This means that you will probably get your interview for February so you can start calling the Department of State at (202) 663-1225 to find out the exact date. They'll have this information ready for you since their system is updated automatically as soon as the embassy schedules the appointment. You can start calling Monday if you want and every other day after that.

Okay, great. I might even begin calling them today for good measure. Miss DeathNova wants to send the package Servientrega for good measure but I suppose that might not be necessary.

  3. How many of us August filers are still waiting?

Vermont has been pathetic for the last week and a half :(

Fed holiday is only one day -- New Year.

But I expect they may be terribly short-staffed until Jan 2. A lot of people may not be back untill the following week. I've already lost hopes for the next week's approval. :(

I would expect their operations to be limited until Jan 5th.

  4. Congrats to all who received their NOA2.

I just sent Miss DeathNova all the Package 3/4 stuff she'll need pre-completed. Cost me $160+ by FedEx with an estimated delivery of one week.

Hey do you think you can enlighten me of what you sent to DeathNova, i am also gathering my stuff and want to make sure that i did not miss anything. Thank you

The exact package listed on the Embassy Info for Colombia on this site (it's very detailed), evidence of relationship, the I-134 with a letter from the military, my last six months of earnings statements, and my 2007 taxes, plus a complete copy of the I-129F package that was approved with the NOA1/NOA2.

I have everything sorted for her with color coded post it notes (the big ruled kind) and secured in groups with binder clips (one binder clip for the I-129F package, one for the evidence of relationship, one for the prepared DS-156/156K/230, and one for the I-134 and supporting documents.

For proof of relationship I sent all the same data from the I-129F package, photos (marked with the BGT case number, full names, descriptions, and month/year taken), e-mails all the way up until now, and brand new intent to marry statements.

The entire package was 2.3 lbs.

  5. In order to file for a K2 in the future does the child have to be marked as follow to join on the DS-156K or can this be done later? If we mark the child as follow to join later will any documents have to be provided at the initial visa interview?

This is very important to us as we want to be eligible for the K2 later but will not be prepared with any documents for the child at the initial interview. I want to make sure we're not shooting ourselves in the foot here!

  6. they totally missed the early filers!!, i hope they realize this soon because a few September people is getting approved?

At least someone is getting approved at CSC, at VSC no one is getting approved. Early filters and late filters are just sitting at some ones desk. :crying:

We got no touch either. I wonder if VSC will work next week, cos it's Xmas week. That means they will get even slower... :crying:

Federal government offices usually shutdown a week before Christmas and stay stalled out until the beginning of the year. There is basically no work going on at my office unless you count coming in to check e-mail, stare at the walls, lick the windows, and wander outside for "extended lunch" at 10:30AM.

  7. I filed my K-1 with an attorney and my fiancee ROYALLY messed up on the G-325A. The attorney said don't worry, they don't even read it. Just check for signature and file. Sure enough NOA1 and NOA2 came like clockwork.

She had all kinds of errors, wrote things in Spanish, and didn't complete four forms. Some things he had to white out and write over with a typewriter. I'm not suggesting to do this, just saying they really obviously do not check.

  8. WE DON'T CARE! WE ARE HERE TO SUPPORT EACH OTHER! Who cares about that data, we are here to support each other and be positive and not negative!

I'm sorry, I don't much like California. Pretty much everything related to government there is royally messed up. I used to live there for 9 years and still own a business in Los Angeles. I keep tax nexus in Delaware and Virginia to keep those clowns from having a cent of my money (well, they do get to collect telecom taxes on us but that's only about $80.00 per month right now).

  9. Am I seeing this right?

CSC is is ahead of VSC?

    Check out the processing times!

People don't dispair yet, approvals also come in the evening! some of these folks in these service center work late so hang in there!

You must have read that wrong, the only thing California does better or faster than other states is take your money and legalize weed.

Hey Mr. Junior Member, NO I DID NOT READ THAT WRONG

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...ge=k1historical

Im just trying to give hope to filers here.

It's flawed data though, that same data was predicting January 3rd for my December 10th NOA2.

  10. Grats to all that got approved over night whilst I slept :P

    WOOOOOOOT!!!

    So jealous

But happy that this time tomorrow I will have picked Chris up from the airport :)

I just read your signature, as a military member with experience in clearances, intelligence, etc. I can tell you this makes absolutely no sense. No where would USCIS ever have anything to do with a DoD security clearance. Office of Personnel Management might ask THEM for information in order to process a clearance which is not uncommon when you have foreign contacts (eg. USCIS may be contacted to verify that you're immigrating legally as a clearance will be denied if one is found to be associating with an illegal immigrant.)

The only reason I can think of for this that is even close to logical is that the military is investigating him for something or there is other derogatory information on his OPM investigation that would preclude him from being allowed to sponsor a visa. When I first consulted with an attorney about all of this I was informed that the I-129F approval process is an investigation into the person making the request and not the beneficiary, the beneficiary investigation comes once the package is at the embassy.

    DeathNova,

During the NOA1 -NOA2 process they perform background checks on both parties involved, as Maciliant mentioned.

The issue we had was that USCIS does not have the clearance to complete the nesscary checks on Chris due to his position (he is not in the military but with a private company) and level of security clearance that is held. The form was send to DISCO to collect the information they need to process futher, he had to complete a number of forms as did his SSO to send back to DISCO which would then forward the required information to USCIS.

It was done last week and the SSO had to complete the information in 14 days so it should either all be at DISCO or on it's way back to USCIS.

As far as I understand it has nothing to do with a military investigation, rather they were questioning if he seriously wanted to petition national as it may put his clearance in question.

This is still quite odd. I'm also a "cleared individual" and my NOA2 came without delay. Possibly he had not properly declared his relationship with you or his Security Manager did not bother to write an incident report (very common outside the Department of Defense because managers are scared to lose employees or contracts if they declare an incident).

  11. When you say law enforcement I think police, sherrifs, low level dudes... but we're talking the F.B.I. here, I imagine they can have an open case pending regardless of any actual charges being filed, and if USCIS checks with them for any potential hits, it doesn't necessarily matter that nothing was ever made public... the high up you go (CIA, and secret service etc) I imagine the less forgiving it becomes to be so much as mentioned. In the end I think the worst case is it causes a delay, but I'm not really expecting that so much either, I'll get paranoid about it though if I start to see some regular touches on my file and no approval or RFE (so far no touches, I figure they at least have to look at it once before they slap me into some security check hell).

The perceived importance of an agency has nothing to do with what records are recorded. They all follow the same basic policies when it comes to what gets entered into a central database. Unless you're on the terrorist wanted list or something there is no secret CIA file on you.

  12. I sleep for a few hours and I am pages behind! haiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Thanks everyone for all the congratulations....................................

Friday isnt done yet, more approvals are coming!

And the most important one... mine... mwuahaha!

I have realized there is a potential delay for me in getting a NOA2 beyond the passport photo issue... basically the NOA1-NOA2 = investigation of the USC, which I realized ahead of time but today I realized that yikes... I had a pretty bad falling out with a former business partner (hence forth to be known as the devil) a few years ago and what I heard (through another partner who was a huge weasely gossipy type) that the devil had gone to the FBI claiming hacking and attempted credit card theft and a few other things (what I was told is that the credit card theft thing was thrown on there because that's pretty much the minimum to get the FBI involved in something... normally they require a pretty substantial loss to investigate things because when the FBI investigates something.... it's going to cost someone 200,000 to do it... I assume tax payers pay that...). Anyway, what I heard from the weasel was the FBI did send agents to interview the various workers in the office, I had long been out of state at that point and as I understand it the whole thing fizzled out after a while... pretty much all my information is second hand, the FBI never contacted me, I did have contact with the sheriffs office in a totally different state that I used to live in and they basically said "We're not saying you did or didn't do anything, but uh, don't"... I found out through family in the state that the sheriffs dept was trying to contact me, which is the only reason I think there is any credibility to the FBI story... I did look into filing a FOIA to find out what was said about me or to get more information in general but apparently I'd need to have permission of people who made statements about me for that, including the devil... so in the end I don't really know a whole lot about it... but there is the possibility that there is some kind of record/open case about me on the FBI's files (I think all this fun happened 6 years ago, maybe 7). Obviously no convictions or anything, I personally had no contact, so I don't really know if any of that is going to be an issue, from what I had heard at the time I was pretty sure the FBI investigators probably had a note or two in there about the devil being a delusional a-hole out to get vengeance for perceived betrayals and was basically abusing the FBI to do so... things go into some kind of a AP/Security thing for me... then no doubt that's what it's about... anyway, just one bit of paranoya about the approval process that may be pretty much entirely fictional events (like I said, I got it all second hand... from a guy who I consider untrustworthy and weasely, he never really provided enough details for me to be confident of what he was telling me)....

Anyway, back to the regularly scheduled waiting impatiently for the NOA2 haha... also... Look for me on FBI's most wanted!

ETA: I had seen the bit about the adjudicator already, I saw it before I ever petitioned.

Law enforcement officer's notes do not make it into any type of central database. It would have to be a conviction or indictment for the most part.

  13. Click "Embassy Info" and find Chile. How to contact NVC is right there in the instructions.

How to contact the consulate is there, but there is no information on how to contact the NVC on the Chile page.

    Use the Colombia one then.

Or calling is worthless, because i am still within 6 months. Thanks for suggestions

You'd be better off going down to the park to ask the pigeons the meaning of life.

  14. SAME QUESTION I'VE BEEN ASKING AND NOBODY TELLS ME!:angry::unsure:

DeathNova how do you know when your paperwork leaves NVC and when it arrives there? Just wondering so when i receive my NOA2 i can keep track. DO you call them? or they email , or can you check online like with USCIS website? Thanks

Click "Embassy Info" and find Chile. How to contact NVC is right there in the instructions.

DeathNova: I think you need the actual hard copy of the NOA2 for AOS later on... so even if you don't want to hear from them again... you need to make sure to get that.

    The attorney has one.
