You have to continue with this process, it's difficult right now but in the long run it will benefit you, your fiance, and your baby in the future. Just be patient and persevere in your goals.
Like what the other posters said, secure another affidavit of support from your fiance and make sure he click on the right box this time that he will be supporting you financially. And he should make a letter of explanation why suddenly he is supporting you now (coz he might have clicked the wrong box before? or something) and that he is retracting the first affidavit of support you submitted.

trinidad-lohner, for K1 kasi iba ang policy for SSN. K1's just have to present the I-94,and passport. Di na nga tiningnan marriage certificate namin eh, once nasa system na nila I-94 ko nag-apply na ko SSN . For K2, k3,& K4 apply first for EAD before you can get the SSN. Wait ka na lang ng 2-4 days marereceive mo na yung NOA mo. Then you will receive the letter for your biometrics appointment.

Make sure your son had enough sleep the night before your interview, come earlier than your appointment, bring snacks/treats for him and his favorite toy. It can be tiring for a toddler to be there. So bring something that will occupy him. Good luck.

I received our NOA for AOS, EAD & AP (all dated March 11) today. I sent them last March 3 (USPS), received on March 5, and check cashed on March 12 (Happy and sad at same time coz we are now $1,610 poorer).

) how have you been? long time no hear ha.About your question, I have my SSN 1 month after i got my I-94, remember the officer did not attach ours on our passport when we arrived. I just sent our AOS packet last March 3 thru USPS. The Chicago office received our papers on the 5th, they cashed our check on the 12th, and today (that's 14th) I received our notice of receipts (AOS, EAD, Travel Document). Kaso may sabit,at first I insisted that my 3 y/o son needs an EAD (I-765) for his SSN but my hubby firmly believed that he does not. so in short naniwala ang gaga so without confirming it i sent our packet without the EAD application for my son. Then last week I checked VJ (ewan ko ba kung bakit di ko ginawa from the start) and stumbled upon a post re SSN for K2, K3,K4 visa holder and andun yung link for the guide. So un nga my son does need EAD for him to have a SSN! sighs... same goes for you too trinidad-lohner. so I called the SS local office and they verified even a 3 yr old boy needs an EAD before they give him a number. I made a call also to USCIS office and they told me just send my son's EAD form together with the copy of Receipt notice i received today. Hopefully wala nang sabit after that. The notice says next step is to have our biometrics taken and wait for the appointment letter. I don't know how long it will take for us to receive the EAD. This process is so confusing sobra, sayang nga di ka maclaim ni hubby sa tax nya, halos 2+ din un. So wait ka lang ng 1 week.

Yung Tdap ok na yun, once every 10 years lang yun. Go ka na lang sa health center they will give you your 2nd dose of MMR, for a cheap price lang. Mga $10-15 lang siguro un. then send the proof of your 2nd dose of MMR to the clinic

hello guys,
it's been a while.. my husband and I have difficulty on filing taxes jointly. We got married last March 2008 and I came here in the US using my K3 visa and we are on the stage of filing my AOS. We went to H & R block ( to do our taxes) and they advice my spouse to file single and just ammend it next year since we can't file jointly, it is because i am just here in the US for a month and filing jointly , a non resident alien spouse should atleast here in the US atleast three months. We need to submit our taxes this april but up to now we can't start anything. Is anyone here in Visa Journey could help us out? If my spouse file single, will it affect my AOS and be question by USCIS?
Please help us out if there is any ways we can file jointly that can't affect my AOS.

ToddnCezy, usually minimum of one month interval ang vaccines. So you might be due to have your 2nd dose already.

hmmm updates... I have my SSN now after the delay of my I-94. It was not stapled to my passport when I arrived, so I went to Homeland office to get one for me and my son. So now I have my SSN card we opened a joint bank account yesterday, and like nbfsb I have been reviewing too, I might apply for driver's license once I had my exams done (thanks minang for the tip), and I'm still waiting for my hubby's ITR to complete our AOS papers. So far that's it. I hope all is well with the rest of the gang.

My sister in Canada is getting married this june so hopefully we can attend and see some snow there. we will be cashing out $1600++. and i'm Still waiting for the mail from the clinic. trinidad-lohner, so you have everything under control now? hehehe so that's why you've been so busy. Anyway, yup you really have to wait for another month for your 2nd shot of varicella. You can go to the same clinic you had your 1st shot, and ask for a document that you can send to Dr. Arnold's clinic. just use the kit first before you get the shot, better to be safe than sorry.
dphus, thanks for the update. Try to find some Filipino community or a pinoy neighbor,at the least, for your wife to mingle with. It will help her a lot in the adjustment.

Btw, can you pretty please send me the list of things you've been preparing for your AOS? I want to be sure I got everything right. Do we have to send a certified true copy marriage certificate ? thanks in advance.

Have you scheduled for your interview at the embassy? If yes, then no need to worry about that, bec you have an existing record of active process for your visa (your scheduled interview) and St. Luke's will coordinate with the embassy re your change of interview date. In short the embassy knows you are on the process of your visa requirements and they will give you some leeway for that.

the Manila consuls don't accept co-sponsor from K1 applicants.
you are in difficult situation, considering your fiance is deployed right now it will be hard for him to find another job to add up to his present income. The thing is, your fiance has to come up with another source of income so he can meet the the criteria.

i paid for delivery fee of the visa of my kid aside from mine. The fee is usually paid inside the USEmbassy after our interview at the Delbros booth.

A matter of 10-day-wait is nothing as compared to my experience of 2 &1/2 months. Under review is not a biggie, you will be receiving your visa in a matter of few days from now since according to you everything went well. What the call rep told you is a generic answer to all applicants, not necessarily meaning you really have to wait that long. It will come sooner than you thought it will be.
