Can anyone tell me that once we get the 10 year green card. How long should we wait before filing for citizenship ?

I got the card production ordered email today!!!

"On February 22, 2011, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283" Now I need to wait for the card in the mail!!!

Got my NOA yesterday and I have updated the table.

I sent mine on 19th too with delivery confirmation and I confirmation two days ago. I also checked with my bank and they have allready cashed the cheque. Yeah I am waiting for NOA too. My concern is that I am hoping that they have my new updated address to send the NOA to and not the old one. I send the AR-11 and I-865 a week before I send my I-751 since I did not know about it.

Ok so they cashed my check, now I only hope that they send the NOA and biometrics letter to the right addresses. We moved a year ago and I didn't even know about the AR-11 and I-865 until I revisited this board. So we filed AR-11 and I-865 a week before we send the i-751. I guess I wouldn't even know if they do send it to the old address...

I sent my I-751 on NOvember 19 2010 with the amount of 545. I hope it dfoesn't come back saying that they need the new amount which everyone here keeps talking about.

Sorry to hear your dilemma. I do understand because I used to be at that stage once. The only thing I feel you should do is have your parents as sponsors and I'm sure they have the required amount that USCIS is looking for...

OK Ok just had the info pass appt and I met the same lady that interviewed me and she told me that she approved me and that the Green card was being processed as we speak.... Neways, I asked her that what would I need to show that I am eligible to start work on Monday since she had my EAD card. She told me the A# would be sufficient for human resources to process...

I am so happy...

OK let me tell you how our interview went. We were an hour early and we had a whole box of stuff. Pretty much everything that my wife and I share we brought along with us. We waited and there were a lot of people there who had lawyers and we felt like maybe we should have gotten one too. Anyways they finally called us in and they asked for our ID's, birth certificate, passport. Then they asked me how we met. The lady told me that her husband graduated from the same college I was currently studying at. This got us into a conversation. Then she told us about the conditional green card and that was it. She took away the AP AND EAD and asked us for all the proof that we had brought. She saw our wedding album and told us that we all looked very beautiful. We were like thanks.... Then she asked us if we had any questions and we asked if we were approved and she said yes.!!! Over all i went well. I think the interviewer can just natuarrlly tell that if something is wrong or if there is some fraud they would know.

Ok I am really screwed now. I don't have a copy of my EAD card and i didn't get any I-551 stamp on my passport.. ANy ideas on what I need to do...

I got approved as well. But I'm in a terrible dilemma. Everyone keeps telling me about the I-551 stamp. The officer took my EAD and AP, but I didn't get any I-551 stamp on my passport. My first day of work is on February 16th Monday. What should I do...? Any ideas..? I don't even have a copy of my EAD card...

I just got a job and I start work on February 16th. At the ionterview they took aweay my EAD card. What do I do ? I don't have my green card yet and I don't have my ead card. I don't even remember what my EAD number is ? Is it legal for me to start work.....??????

I just found a job two days ago and my birthday is on february 11th. What a cooincidence huh...

Its been a long time since I received my EAD that I have come back to this site. Its been really tough finding a job really. But my wife has been supportive and thats why I love her.

Anyways I got my Green Card Interview letter yesterday. My Interview is on February 10th 2009 at 1:00 PM!!!! I'm really excited and happy !!!!

OK I got my EAD card in the mail yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now's the scary part of getting a job in this economy....God help us all....

Congrats, and to answer your question, I have seen cases where they do your biometrics along with your actual interview, so maybe your interview might be even sooner, than for the rest of us who have allready completed biometrics and have received AP and EAD....

Hey I am sorry about your dilemma and it seems that it is really unfair that he is quitting without seeing what ure going through. What a jerk ? Anyways, he can allways go back to his own home country, since I assume he is a citizen of UK. But, yes like you said, for him to combe back here will be a whole different story and you might want to start the process all over again. I am not sure how thats gonna work out. I mean if you had filed for Advance parole and had gotten the actual AP document, he can go and keep coming back as to whenever he chooses until the expiry date on the document. Anyways he should see that you'r in college and your also supporting your kids and he should just hang in there, even if the economy is bad. Tell him to take whatever he gets and help you out, and don't look at the job and how bad it is. Its true it takes two to make a relationship work and he is not helping in any way, and it looks like he is only thinking of himself. But anyways, if he wants to go back home and he doesn't mind leaving you, then I feel that maybe there is no love.....?
