  1. Okay, so Mya and i went to do the mouth swab yesterday. It was a little more to it than i thought. They use 4 of those q-tip looking things to swab both cheeks, you have to have photo id. They take a picture of you too. Michael is going to do his today, that will be sent back via fedex today i hope. If it can be in the US by the end of this week, it would be so nice. Then it will be done by the end of next week and on it' way back to Guyana and Michael's visa can be issued quickly. Aww man, hurry, hurry, hurry.lol. Okay, i am a little anxious. :bonk:

You are well within your right to be anxious. Put on your dancing shoes your reunion is right around the corner.

  2. You are welcomed Nikita.

The DNA Kit has been delivered to Doctor Daniel's office already. They called my husband and he has to drop off his passport today at 1PM, then they actually go with him to the embassy on Tuesday to swab his mouth because an embassy official has to be there to see it being done, then they send the his sample back to the US via Fedex. Wohoo.

So happy that things are moving along quickly for you :dance::dance:

  3. Hi Mrs. Rowe...had stopped in since Monday, very busy at work. I see that you already have the ball rolling on your DNA test...its just a pebble in the road and your family will be together shortly. As for me I am staying on top of things just waiting for the package to come on back so that I they can return my original document so that I can refile the petition. The situatiom make me 38 hot at times, I keep praying on it, because the father knows best. As the old adage goes "ANYTHING WORTH HAVING IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR".

Oneka...I was just reading back some of the post I see that you are coming my way. Welcome. I am praying that you will have your interview for next month keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Blessing to you both, I truly wish you all the best.

Yes, the ball started rolling the day of his interview. I wasted no time. The kit was sent out the next day and is already in georgetown. It will be delivered to Mercy Hospital tomorrow. and then my husband will go with them to the embassy on Tuesday, they will swab his mouth and send the sample back to the US via Fedex the next day i guess or the same day, i don't knwo how they do it. Mya and i will be swabbed on Monday. Once they receive the results it takes about 7 days for the testing to be complete and then the results are sent back to US embassy in Guyana via fedex. After they have that, visa will be issued. Whew. lol. The process would be shorter if it wasn't for the traveling time.lol.

As for your case, don't worry. Your new application will be approved. Just hang in there. God is on your side and this year, the wait time is shorter, so you will be done before you know it.

I know what you mean about the travelling time. It all good because everyday bring you a day closer to reuniting your family. Well I have gotten proctive and is working on obtaining the original documents that is needed instead of sitting here playing the waiting game. I believe it will be approved too, as it was explained to me by the time the interview come around again we would have been married a year longer...We waited over 2 decades, I will continue to be patient for a little while longer. Knowing that god is on our side is what keeps me going...for I know he wouldn't bring us thus far and forsake us. For with him all things are possible.

  5. You are most welcome Mrs. Rowe. Oneka I was there but I knew from the last question I as asked by the Officer something was going on in his head, but I know that the final decision isn't his it up to CIS...so as you rightfully say I am just hoping and praying that it is returned to Guyana for the issuance of the visa. I am not the kind of person that roll over and play dead...I have dealt with worst set backs and come out of it triumphantly. PRAISES TO THE MOST HIGH FOR HE ALWAYS CARRIES ME WHEN I AM TIRED AND FEELING ALONE...

  6. I agree with Oneka...Tell him to answer all the questions even the one that he may think is too personal because the Officer has your life story sitting infront of him on the computer. Let me share what they sent me in the email so that you will see exactly what I am saying.

Your petition is being returned to the Department of Homeland Security because the applicant was unable to establish that his marriage is not solely for immigration purposes. This case has already been reviewed by a senior Consular Officer and a decision has been made. The case will be further reviewed by the Department of Homeland Security and they will make the final decision. The beneficiary will be notified in writing when the case is dispatched.

I am sharing this because I don't want any of you to be where I am right now.

  7. WOOHOO, GO ONEKEA. WOHOO, WOHOO.

    :dance::dance::dance:

I'm so relieved that part is over...now I just need an interview date...

It will be here faster than you think and then once you get close to the time, the days drag on forever. :star:

That's how i feel right now. It's like it's taking forever for the time to come. Michael is going for his medical on Monday and then ofcours his interview is the following Monday. It jsut seems to be taking forever. I want to be calm but the more it drags on, it's dragging on my nerves.

Can you believe its pretty much already February? I can't wait for the next two weeks pass...hopefully NVC will have my date and you will have some good news to share. I'm praying for you.

    Hey Onekea,

Medical done. Just waiting for Monday. The actual exam cost almost 40 thousand as he had to have some shots done. Don't worry, you will have your date next week. It will be so exciting when you get it. I hope to have good news. I keep praying, praying, praying. We will be fine by God's Grace. With him anything is possible.

I created a whole folder of evidence and divided it into sections, photographs, phone cards, child, visits, cards and letters. Hopefully after talking to him and seeing all the work i put into that folder, they will know our relationship is sincere and wont' request a second interview. I dont think i can handle it if they do. We have gone through too much already.

Where is Nikita? I have not seen her post anything in a while.

How are you ladies doing? Sorry that I not been posting for awhile. I am very happy for you Mrs. Rowe you husband will be home shortly. Oneka by gods' grace you will have an interview for March. As for me my news is not so great my case is being sent back to CIS. Trying to weigh my options. One attorney told me it is easier to refile the case. No sure what I am going to do as yet. Anyway you are all in my prayers. I choose to believe that there is a reason for whatever I may have to go thru...with that in mind I will do all that I can to bring my husband home its not easy on either of us the man is :crying: like a baby. I know that he is very disappointed as I am but we will get thru this. You all be blessed. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Aww, i am sorry that you are going through this. I will pray for you. Don't give up. Refile if you have to just dont give up.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Nikitadoo don't give up. Love will conquer this set back. You and your husband are in my prayers (F)

I will not give up I emailed the embassy yesterday a young lady explained why the package was being returned. I will wait to hear from CIS. I will not give up because he is my husband and as the vows go for better of for worst this is just a bump in the road and we will cross it. I want to thank you ladies for your words of encouragement and for keeping us in your prayers as you both are in mine...

  9. Good Morning Folks,

Okay, i recieved my copy of my husband's interview letter on Saturday and then it all became real to me. This sent me into shock then into a total cleaning spree. I started cleaning my closet only to realize that i still have a lot to do. Now i have to get a whole new bed, change the color scheme in my room. Geeze, all of this in one month.

I'm so excited for you Girl!!!! You have a whole month that should be enough time. As long as you know the time is drawing near you will find the energy to do it all. Or if not all, hubby can help with what is left over when he gets here. I'm sure he won't mind if everything is not perfect.

How's your little girl doing? I know you can't wait until you are all together and she can spend time with her daddy :luv:

For love we are capable of doing anything and you will be finished because that adrenaline will keep you going. I know you can't wait for your husband to arrive and do wish you all the best.

    LOL. Thanks.

Have you heard anything from the embassy yet? Try calling them.

I will later today...I tried this morning but the line was busy...

I just pass the 3 months I am going to send a letter out to both Senators later today...I think I also have to get a form but I will do some research on that.

I hope it won't take too much longer.

    Hi Oneka...Me too...

  10. Hmm. So, they did not look at any evidence at all? If they are just going to do a bunch of questions then i think it best for me to be there. Geeze. Now i am afraid to go to Guyana with the whole Leptosperosis thing going around.

The rain down there is just too much. I am on standby for the second interview...because I am on my way there again...I don't have a baby my first and my last is 16 :dance: and my mom stay with him while I am come...I don't think he will ever go to Guyana again I took him there in 2007 and he stayed 3 days and I had to send him back up

I see me and this keyboard is not agreeing.

Oh, so they still do a second joint interview after the first one. I though they only do one.

Not sure what they will do but I am preparing myself for whatever...as we say wha comes fa do....

For got to say to you follow your heart...do whatever that little voice tells you to do in regards to going down...its a reason god give it to us.

I hear you because I would take my child there either...I think it was just that person...because while I was there I saw a lady who had to leave all the way from up here to fly to Guyana to take her album and they were still placed on Administrative processing...so my dear I agree that you are well prepared.

  13. Nikita,

Please post your interview experience. Please. I want to have an idea. Did they take your pictures before th actual interview or during? I want to know so i know how to organize the evidence. Thank you.

The officer where more concerned with questions and answer...didn't pay too much mind to evidence.

I am trying to remember some of the questions...here it goes..

    When did you meet?

    Who proposed marriage?

    Who both the rings?

What did you have for dinner?

What is it that you like about your spouse?

Who was is your spouse last married to?

  17. Busy as a bee...just taking a moment to stop by to say hi. Mrs. Rowe you couldn't of ask for a better Valentine's present :dance::dance: Oneka with god grace you will breeze thru NVC then on to your interview.

AWw thanks ladies. What a New Years present for you Onekea. Wohooo.

Nikita scared me with the whole 6 months wait thing.lol. I was terrified of that but it worked out okay.

Girl...I was so happy when I reach home and saw the email cuz I was checking like every other day when I was in Guyana. I was scared of the 6 month thing too...I'm so glad you got it cuz I am right behind you.

I have been ready for NVC for a while now. I just want to wait till I file my taxes to send the I864 cuz I was in school for 2005 and my income was low for that year. Hopefully that doesnt hold me back too much...maybe a month

I'm praying for you to hear something soon Nikita!

I am happy that things are getting better or so it may appear for scheduling interview in Guyana. The 6 months wait was my experience of which I own. Mrs. Rowe if I do remember carefully I told you that everyone case is different...and I do wish you all the best thru this process.

Oneka...what I gather from the affidavit of support is that your current income should be above the poverty line. However, you should call NVC and maybe you will get someone who is kind enough to clarify things for you. As for me and my case I give that over the most high for he is the Alpha and the Omega...stressors I do not do. I see this as our time for growth because going thru this process has made our relationship that much stronger.

  18. Welcome back Oneka...trust that you had the most wonderful of vacation. I am doing this for you :dance::dance: things are truly happening.

Mrs. Rowe I know I promise to post some information for you...but I am busier than I thought I would of been on my time off.

Would like to take this time to wish you all a Happy New Year. Enjoy
