I tryed submitting packet 3 directy , but i was told that I can not submit that , The embassy no longer allows that . The best option it so do express mail . We did that and they rcvd our packet in one day

No, he packed it in his suitcase and they never mentioned it. I figured if they had asked for it I would have grabbed it out of his luggage since in Newark you have to take it from baggage claim and go through customs. It is huge...that's why we packed it! It was bad enough to carry that very heavy packet they give you for POE! His backpack was so heavy!!!

Lovica....I would wait a few days. I think it takes them awhile to put the information into their system. We called DOS every couple of days to see if it was in the system. Calling DOS is easier (in my opinion) than dealing with the Embassy, and DOS has all the same information. The number is somewhere around page 9 of this thread.

We made it back to the States safe and sound, and POE in Newark was extremely easy! It took Tarun about 5 minutes to go through immigration. I brought him into the USC line with me and then just told the immigration officer that he was my fiancee traveling on a K-1 visa and he said no problem, told me to get the bags and then took him to a seperate room. They basically stamped his visa, said "you have 90 days to get married, welcome to the US and have a great life ahead!" That was it!!!

And he also told me he has a greater respect for me traveling all those times to see him...he was not amused by sitting on a plane for 15 hours

Oh...and I've already given him the Wal-Mart Supercenter experience!! that was a bit overwhelming for him!!! HAHAHA

They can not deny Entry to a Us citizen , I our case (k1) my Fiance was with me , and that helped us 1000 % , We both where interviewd . Which i have never heard of .So from our experence , that a great benefit to have your Fiance or spouse with you .

We have got the Visa in hand ! For any body going through delhi , It took 4 long days for VFS to Rcvd my passport , So dont worry just keep checking with them every day . I wanted to pick up my Passport cause of the problems that i had with the Courior delivery for packect 3 and 4 . I never rcvd Packet 4 , So I did not want to take the same chance .

We are flying on sunday to States .Whish us luck

hey my noa2 just got approved and my fiance's intreview will be next, at new delhi, waht is vfs? can you help me and give me some advice, how long did it take you to get a intreview from delhi consulate?

We got our interview date with in 3 weeks of submiting packect 3 . VFS is the place where you submit your paper work before the interview .

do you sumit all the proof and everything at vfs? you dont take anything to the embassy?

We submitted everything to VFS prior to the interview, but we also brought copies of everything with us just in case. Submitting everything prior gives them a chance to look through your documents before the interview.

My interview went good yesterday .Our visa was approved. Here's some of our interview experience:

We got there really early and found out that you are only allowed into the Embassy 30 minutes before your appointment time, so we had to find something to do for a couple of hours. Once our time came we went in...they let my USC fiance in with no problems, just asked for her passport. Once inside they give you a number and this is your number for the whole time you're there. They called our number and we went to pre-screening where an Indian man took our paperwork and my fingerprints. It took them a while to find the paperwork that we submitted to VFS, but they did find it so don't worry if this happens to you also. After he went through the paperwork I paid the demand draft and then sat down to wait for my number to be called again for the interview. My fiance was allowed to be with me this whole time.

When my number was called again my finace and I went up to the counter together and the strangest thing happened to us...they interviewed us both!!!. The interviewing officer was really nice to us and wanted to know about the 6 visits for my fiancé. Wanted to know about how our relation progressed and the whole timeline of us in general, so make sure you guys know your dates of stuff like when you started dating, when you got engaged, when your first date was...where you went. If your fiance has visited multiple times make sure you know those dates too as well as where you guys went and what you did during those visits. There also was a supervisor standing behind our interviewer the whole time who who infact at the end of the interview gave us the approval.

I 100% think that my fiance being there was a big plus, so if you can at all swing it make sure your fiance is there!! They even told us that Delhi is a high fraud K-1 Consulate so they are looking even harder for genuine relationships.

So all in all it was a ver different and very unique experience. Much less chatoic than I thought it was going to be.

Ya ever one is quite , whats up with you guys .

Sam , are you nerveous , I am geting a anxious .

So if you guys get approved on your respective interview dates when do you plan on getting married? We might get married in May.

We're shooting for the end of April. Really quick, I know...hoping we can pull it off. We're going to have something very small and intimate so I think we'll be okay!

Then I had to argue with them a little in a polite way to submit other stuff.

They will count all the things for you i.e. emails, letters, pics. Ya count count 1 + 1 = 11

So I am done with medical , now i need to go to VFS and submit every thing to them .

Ok so can you tell me what exactly you mean by the count . Like they will count the pages , if so man they will count mine till evening .

and what exactly do they say when you were trying to submit the additional information . What do you have to argue with them ?

Just wanted to check with you guys...are you making copies of the documents to be submitted at VFS & carrying it with you for the interview...or should we just go with the interview letter & passport if all the documents have been submitted at VFS.

We are making copy of the documents , and taking then with us to interview . We has every thing that need to be submited to VFS double .

When do we pay the $131 visa fee? Do we get a demand draft prior to dropping stuff off at VFS? I looked on the VFS website and it is saying that we need to submit visa fee receipt? Thanks!

Don't forget you still have to phsyically call one of the authroized locations to book your medical. The letter they sent was just a suggested medical appt. You do get a copy of your medical, some things not all when you go. Sam got an immunization record I believe.

I have called one of the Doc and as per his office I am all set for a medical examination on 9th .

It looks like it's $131. I found this on the Delhi Embassy website:

FEES $131 or Rs. 6,812/- for each applicant. Visa fees are not refundable; they must be paid through a rupee bank draft drawn on a nationalized or foreign bank. The bank drafts must be issued in the name of “The American Embassy, New Delhi”, and should be payable in Delhi. Traveler's check or cash in US $ is acceptable. As the rate of exchange can change, we recommend that applicants check the current consular rate of exchange at our website www.newdelhi.usembassy.gov or contact the Embassy ahead of their interview to obtain the current consular rate of exchange. At present, applicant has to pay the K1 Visa Fee $ 131 or Rs. 6,812/- (only single draft required) for each applicant. Using the exchange rate of $1.00 = Rs. 52/-. Exchange rate subject to change without notice.

Ok , I have still not rcvd my packet 4 , so I tryed calling embassy did not got through . I tryed for almost an hour or so , and it was between 10 to 11 .
