Age should not be a factor as long as you can prove that you have bonafide relation . You said you have know each other for 4 years , just tell your story of past 4 years . We have a 7 years age gap and we were fine going

through Delhi, Did not had any problem what so ever . Just make sure you overload them with bonafide evidence .

I got ppcc on passport from the passpoert authority , the cleareance from the local police pcc would in form of paper saying that

u dont any on ur record .

I had to go to the passport authority twice and had to get new passport . Their was small rip on the front page of my passport

and they refused to give me my pcc on that passport . Need less to say they want some money and gave me my new passport with

in 5 days .

How are u all . Ok here is the only and only reason that I would go for the citizenship . I am the only Son of my parents and I really want to take care of them when times come .

I still having hard time thinking that I would not be called Indian citizen , but the fact is that Its always in my heart that i will be an Indian forever . We have also decided when time come to put down my workin shoes . We will spend 6 months in India and 6 months here in states .

It look like my GC has the typo so i guess I have to make the infopass . So this brings another set of problem . So I have a job and i just made changes on I9 which is incorrect so i have to go back to them and tell them that their is A typo on GC . So question is the EAD still vaild, or its no more vaild since I have my GC . Other thing if I get a new job is it gone affect my background check ? Will I be getting any documentation stating that I had typo on GC and my EAD is still Vaild ?

I have read some where that I should get my Passport stamped for typo on my GC .Not sure what should I be asking them for the stamp for !!!!!! I guess this process is never gone end for me ha ha ha or they are making me stay connected with them all the time ha ha

Ok so here is my problem , My alien no is different on my EAD card and GC . They only difference is last digit . SO i had 8 as my last digit on EAD and 0 on gc .

Can a alien no be different is different card or this is a typo . I always though that the alien no reamains the same .

Any thoughts ?

Which Indian Consulate are you going through? The Consulates in India are very different on how they do things.

With that said...I would absolutely advise that you travel there for the interview...I believe I'm the one that Melody was referring to when she talked about knowing someone who got interviewed when they accompanied their fiance to the interview. We are proof that me being there made a huge difference!

you will be allowed inside in Delhi, and like AK+TK said, be prepared to answer questions...especially since it's your second time around. I went with my now husband and we were also both questioned which I wasn't expecting either...but if you know the timeline and details of your relationship you should be fine. I firmly believe that it's a huge bonus to be there at the interview...what better relationship proof!

We did our usual dinner at TGIFriday's...it's kind of become our place!!!

Don't worry Tasha...he will catch on to American football very quickly! Tarun had no idea about baseball, basketball and American football when he came here...he was a Cricket only kind of guy. Now....well let's just say that me, my father and brothers have him completely addicted to sports! He even does Fantasy Football and Fantasy Basketball!! Some days I think he's more of a fan than I am!

I am so sorry for your situation! I'm not trying to add to the heartbreak, but I just want to give you our experience. Just prior to us filing for the K-1 Tarun went to try to get a tourist visa to come over and meet my family in person. He went for the interview and they straight away denied him and told him that because he had the intention of immigrating they could not, by Consulate rules, give him a tourist visa, even though he had ties there and we were planning to go through the proper channels to bring him here. I'm afraid that because your visa was just denied they would be even less likely to give him one and it would be heartache for you guys all over again. These are just my opinions mixed with a little bit of experience, and I just wanted to put it out there even though I know things are tough for you right now and you so badly want to see him. Keep your chin up and keep fighting!

Melody, I say if you have the means to go the interview than hands down you need to be there. I was there for Tarun's interview and can say without a doubt it helped us 100%! They interviewed me as well and I think that is the best bonafides of a relationship you can possibly give them. Delhi is such a hard Consulate that if you can swing it do it!

I'm so sorry ms_jingle_lala! As K said, Delhi is a really tough Consulate! That absolutely doesn't excuse their behavior though...that's absolutely awful!

You would need International Driver's License ti drive any where outside India , International Driver's License is just a offical translation of the orignal license .

Tarun and I didn't have an interview. I'm not sure why you do or don't have one. We didn't add anything additional to our paperwork...we basically just sent what the guides on here told us to. We sent it at the end of May 2009 and it was transferred to CSC end of June. PM me if you need any help with any of the paperwork. The guide on here are really good though!

I don't live in WI but I can help you out with your questions. No matter where you live the AOS package gets mailed to the national lockbox in Chicago. The address is on the I-485 form. Your interview (if you have one) will be held in WI...wherever your local office is. Hope that helps!
