Got home on friday to find a letter from USCIS waiting for me. It would appear that the FBI rejected my fingerprints and I have been asked to attend again for another set this Thursday at 8 am. They did warn me that there was a possibility this might happen. So, I have been drinking gallons of water and rubbing in lots of handcream all weekend as recommemded. I was going to do some redecorating this weekend but decided that rubbing down paintwork would do my poor fingerends no good at all!

Well according to your timeline their response was pretty fast, so i'm glad you can do your set right next week, you won't have lost too much time!

I just had a look at the proccessing dates for Boston office and the site says updated Oct 19th 2008 But when you scroll down to read the application numbers and the dates it says " Proccessing Dates for Boston as of Aug 31st 2008, so they are out of date already..

It takes them two months to process the numbers they had in August from the different centers. If you checked the previous update it was around sept 19 and was showing the numbers as of July 31st. So the numbers for Oct 31st should show up around mid-december.

From what I can see from the july and august filers it takes 3 or 4 months, they are getting their interviews in november so we should be next in december or january

Woohoo I got my fingerprints done. I waited about 10mn to get this done, it took about 15mn to take the prints. They handed me the new test booklet AND the old test questions, I will take the old test.

I'm a bit confused as what they call BIOMETRICS, the paper i got at the desk for the fingerprint agent said "10 prints + BIO" and I only got my fingerprints done, so what do they call "BIO" ? She asked me for my date of birth 3 times, is that it

Well I was complaining this morning about not receiving the BIO notice and guess what was just in the mail My appt is on oct 10.

The notice date says sept 26, it was posted on the 27th from MS.. I guess it takes a long time for a letter to come from Missouri! Interesting this notice doesn't appear in the online tracking.

It also said I should expect to be notified within 365 days of this notice. That is quite long, isn't it? I am hoping I will get the interview notice much sooner than that, as some of you have experienced.

I'm re-adding my NOA1 date from the list since it disappeared and updated mscssuffolk. I haven't received the BIO notice yet and I checked online and nothing has happened it still says they sent the application to the NBC. Is the NBC sending the notice or the CSC? or the field office?

If you are taking old test, it will be 10 questions out of 96 questions.

In my case, I got booklet and audio CD from fingerprint.

So I extracted second audio track from audio CD, and keep listening when I drive back and forth from work to home.

It was about 20 min audio track with questions and answers only.

First track includes some explanations for questions, but you don't need that for interview questions.

So when you hear question, you can answer it then compare what real answer are from following answers from audio track.

So I didn't have to spend the time for study. ^^

I didn't know about this CD do you know if every fingerprint place has it? Is it free?

Hi,

I will start studying the famous 100 questions, and I was wondering how people studied them. Did you use an online test? Did you print the cards and studied by yourself? Did you ask friends to ask you the questions as if it was the interview?

I took some online test yesterday without studying first and got around 80% right, so it's not bad. I blushed when I couldn't remember the color of the stars on the flag and had to check it online!!!!

And by the way, are there 100 or 96 questions???? I'm taking the old test, not the revised one.

I received my NOA1 while on vacation last week Says case been transfered to the NBC, so far so good, waiting for the BIO. Last week a friend of mine got the Oath ceremony done so he will be able to vote for the coming elections I am so jealous!!!

Time for me to start reviewing the 100 questions..

I'm curious as which test September filers will want to take, since I have the choice I will take the older test. What about you?

For me it's voting (and i'm so pissed off I won't be able to vote in November and making sure I won't be subjected to some crazy policy that would get me removed from the US of A. I've been living here for 10 years and love it, I feel i'm part of this country and I want to contribute more than just paying taxes, I don't want some jerk to decide that i'm not worth it or that i'm not up to his or her standards.

Quick question. There is this part where you have to tell where you traveled and for how long since the last 5 years. I could find the return dates from my passport and had most of the information about the trips in my email, but for years 2003-2005 I could only find the return dates, not the departure dates.

So when I filed the application I added a note explaining why I didn't put the departure date and said that I believed all the trips were around 10-15 days on average for this period.

Is this going to be sufficient? There is no way I can find the real departure dates if they send me the form back. If I receive NOA1 does that mean the form was accepted or can they still send it back after NOA1?

You should have records of in/out.

Otherwise if interview officer can not make the judgement because of lack of information at interview, he/she can postpone until he/she get all information he/she wants.

In my cases, I tracked all passport stamps plus my mileage account access to show when I got on the flight for each direction.

Otherwise you have to check with your France government, who handles in/out record for your citizens.

Thanks for your answers. I'm applying based on 5 years of being a permanent resident. I think the accompanying letter will be sufficient, I hope. I didn't think about checking the mileage account I will do that and get them ready for the interview if United Airlines still has them.

When I go to France there is no record at all, my passport is just checked, not stamped, there is no record of my entry in my country, so I can't get any information from that side. I'm sure i'm not the only one that doesn't have a full record of all the trips done in the last five years!

Thanks for the info about the NOA1, I guess I'll have to wait for the interview, but if they call me for the interview without returning the form for missing info then this will certainly be a good sign At least I can explain to the IO why I couldn't get any record.

What about getting a letter from my previous manager stating that to his knowledge I've never been out of the country for more than say 20 days at a time and not for a period of 6 months over the 2003-2005 period ? Would that count?

Does your passport have entry stamps from the foreign country/countries that you visited? Maybe from there you can figure out your departure dates from the US?

No i'm a French citizen and just visited France, so there is no stamp on my French passport.

UPDATE: My check was encashed yesterday. Can't read much of what they've stamped on it but it's a relief they made some progress somehow..

N400 at CSC 9/9/08 check encashed 9/18/08.

My check was cashed the next day after I mailed the application!!!!! I tried to find a number on the copy of the check I got online from the bank that I could match with the coming NOA1 but no luck. Yes i'm impatient LOL, but I guess if they cashed it then it's a good thing, hopefully my application was correct.

See this is strange, I filed to the CSC too, so I'm wondering why yours took 9 days to cash and mine just 1 day.. that's a big difference.
