  1. Oh yeah..I guess I have no choice but to wait for the EAD now..the only reason why I applied for the SS number is that I need to renew my Military ID card because we are moving...So now I have to find another way to have it without my SS number..It's just frustrating why people in the office are like that..I mean I would not feel bad if it was my fault but its not! It's not my fault that they are really SLLLOOOWW...they deliberately took their time and make an excuse to not give me the number..they could have just told me that they will not process when I went there in the first place..and not like this waiting for weeks until my I-94 will expire! I can't believe people like that..grrrr..i guess im just venting out my frustration..Thanks everyone! =)

  2. Ok so I went to the SS office last July 15 to apply for an SS number..the lady said that it would take 3 weeks to get my SS number...my I-94 will expire on August 23..But Ok thats not a problem for me...plenty of time right?

    Now waiting...and waiting...finally on August 14..I received a letter....

It said that they cannot issue a Social Security card at that time because my legal immigration status and/or documents will expire before an SSN card can be issued to me...

    What???!!!

That doesn't make any sense..so I called and the lady said it took so long to verify my status..and it wasn't their fault that it took that long..hello???

When I went there my I-94 was valid..they had a WHOLE month to verify my status, and now they're telling me that they can't issue me a card just because my I-94 will expire?? That's total BS! In the first place it wasn't my fault that they took so long to verify it..For all I know I don't think they even verified...or they were just dragging their feet to do it...

I'm so frustrated because how come they sent me that mail like 9 days before my I-94 will expire..

I thought the "rule" was to go to the SS office 14 days before the I-94 will expire??? or is it 14 days AFTER they verify my status??

I really don't understand this 14 day rule..

Please someone clarify..I'm so confused right now..HELP!

  3. Hi There! Guam is my POE too..and as for my experience, it was just so easy going around. Their airport is small so i just followed all the people getting out. Then I formed in line at the customs and border (there were not too many people on the plane or even on the airport since we arrived at 4 in the morning). The border guy just asked me a few questions while checking my brown envelope and he had my finger print scanned and had me look at a camera. Then they let me enter a small room where they put all the immigrants entering US..there were a lot of immigrants and K1 or K3 visas that day (maybe around 15 that time). I waited for my name to be called and then they just told me that I have to get married by August...That's it. The people there are very friendly..there seem to be a lot of Filipinos working there too..u wont get lost just ask around..Have a safe trip!:)

~~They give out I-94 on the plane so make sure to fill it out~~

  4. Hi all! I really need some advice about my Adjustment of Status. My I-94 will expire on August 23, 2009. We are going to mail our Adjustment this week before it expires.

Our problem is that we are going to move to Alabama (we are from Guam) this October 1. I'm worried if its ok if I travel? We will fly Guam-Hawaii-Missouri-Alabama route.I know Guam is a US territory and we will have our NOA1 by that time, I just want to make sure that we will not encounter any problems in the airport. I've heard stories about people getting "deported" if they don't have the valid visa and I'll have mine "pending" by that time.

Another thing is I still don't have a driver's license or a valid ID. I have a dependent military ID from the Navy since my husband is from the Navy and it is the only government issued ID that I have. If in case they would want an ID from me, is it ok if I show them this instead of my passport? I do not want to show them my passport since my visa and my I-94 will be expired by that time, so I'll just spare myself from trouble and give them another ID instead, if they really need one. Most people say that they usually don't check passports since its a domestic travel but I read one story here on VJ that someone got "arrested" because she didn't have her passport with her even though she was just on a domestic flight.

I hope someone can help me. Any response will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! =)

  6. You're right..When I had my interview I saw someone who brought their cp with them..they were not allowed to go in and I heard the guard say that they would have to reschedule their interview..I think they are more strict lately...

    Congrats Raeka! Happy trip...

  7. Hi Beaumench...I know what it feels like since ive been there before..but you know alls well that ends well...never underestimate the power of prayer..it does miracles! I will pray for you..just be strong and keep the faith..:)

  8. Hi sis! You are in my prayers..I know how you feel..I called today and they still dont have my results yet..I'm so tired of waiting already..but I know for sure that we're negative! We've come so far..I know we wont be disappointed..Its just a matter of time until we can have that peace of mind again..Don't worry..:)

  9. Wow! I can't believe it took you that long just for the vaccination and the pregnancy test! I would have gone insane if I stayed in SLEC that long..hehehe..Anyways, congrats and good luck on your interview..

And P495 just for the pregnancy test??? St. Lukes is really charging in dollars..

  10. some were called on the 2nd week, some called on the 3rd, 4th or 5th week. others were even called on the 6th or 7th week. its a case to case basis.

Does someone get called on the 8th week? Friday will be the last day for me and I'm getting paranoid as ever...do they still call 2 days before the culture is due? That will be a pain big time if they did! I would be really mad!!

  11. Its my 7th weeks waiting for my sputum, but i feel i am more worried now than the first 2 weeks..Wanted to try to call SLEC but feel scared the result..Help me VJ's who are in the same boat... :crying:

Hi davra...I feel your pain..but wow, if you made it for 7 weeks then you must be negative..im sure you are..I am just on my 4th week of waiting...and I know how you feel..I wish I was in your shoes..Don't worry..im sure you are negative...2 more weeks and it will be over...Just continue to pray..God hears all our prayers...keep the faith and be strong...:)

  12. Don't worry sis..everything will be alright..just stay positive. :)

We're on the same boat..as I am on my first week of waiting for the culture. It's so depressing...but we don't have any choice but to wait. Let's just keep praying. Everything happens for a reason.

  13. Hi Adiiann..you are not alone..

Like you, I felt devastated when they told me that I had to do the sputum test for 3 days..I didnt know what was wrong (except I had a cold when i had my cxray..lesson learned: Go to the medical completely healthy). I had my xray two weeks before my medical and everything was normal..so I was surprised when they told me to do the sputum test. They said they saw something "suspicious" on my lower left lung..When the doctor showed my cxray on my pulmonary evalutaion, I could not even believe that they saw something irregular with it..It looked (to me) that my lungs were normal, she just pointed out some whitish thing on my lung, she said it might be some phlegm or lung infection. When I asked her if it was a scar, she said "No..its not a scar but we have to rule out TB to be sure".. its their protocol to do so. She gave me a prescription for some antibiotics that I have to take for 7 days (Clarithromycin). And have to wait for 2 months for my culture results.

Waiting just sucks (as i am a very impatient person..hehe). I hope all goes well for us..I know this is just a trial and would make us a better and stronger person. Let's keep praying..:)

  14. 18 USD visa schedule interview fee from USA

What is this for? I've never heard of this....i hope im not missing something....

Maybe it is for the CFO. Things sure have gone up since Claudeth went through the process.

I think that 18 USD is when you call USEM from US to schedule the Visa interview. I called USEM to schedule my visa interview and got charged PhP 600, and that call lasted for just 10 minutes.

For CFO seminar, you'll pay PhP 250.

Oh yeah..I think it's for that pin you purchase to call for the interview..I just thought I forgot to pay something because my interview is coming up..I was freaking out for a moment there... :o

    Thanks a lot! :)
