  1. I am now officially a US citizen! I had my oath today.. There were 52 new citizens from 20 countries. The ceremony was at the district courthouse. It was such a solemn ceremony.. I got teary eyed! So long USCIS! Good luck everyone! Please update my timeline. Thanks!

PS. I never got an appointment letter. I just got a call from USCIS Wednesday morning that they are scheduling my oath on Friday. So make sure you answer your phone..I almost never did because the number did not appear. When I got there they just gave me the form where you answer the yes/no questions.

  2. I just got done with my interview. My appointment was at 9:30 am I got there at 9 am but did not get called until 11 (omg!). The officer was very nice she asked me to remain standing and swore to tell the truth. After that she asked for my passport, drivers license and green card. She went through my application, yes or no questions asked me to sign it. After that she gave me the civics test. I was pretty nervous at that point because I thought that I would blank out and forget everything I studied lol. She asked me 6 questions and said I passed. Then we talked about my name change and signed a bunch of papers. Then she said congratulations you passed the interview today! I was super happy. She then said that she wanted me to talk about my immigration journey during the ceremony. I politely declined because I am terrified of speaking in front of an audience. Lol. She said she would expedite my oath as we are PCSing (military) moving to Guam on October so hopefully before October i will have my oath.

I was so stressed over nothing! I know it's not over until the oath but for now off to bed I go to get my much needed sleep!

  3. Good Luck!

I am curious, what was the date on the notice? I remember you stated you received notification about the interview appointment on a Sunday, two days ago. I am also scheduled for interview as per my online update yesterday but I have yet to receive the letter. This makes me nervous since my surgery is scheduled Aug 26, I don't expect to be interviewed at least towards the end of September... mine better not be last week of August!

The date on the letter is August 11..

  4. Just a follow up question, sorry if this may sound stupid to some...If you had no cough and they need a phlegm samples for the sputum test, how will they get one?

This is the most dreadful part of the exam process..coughing out sputum to the satisfaction of the Medtechs in St. Lukes...you will have to produce enough or else they will reschedule you and you will have to do it all again...

Don't worry too much...just drink vitamins and just make sure you are healthy before you go to the medical....

  5. This happened to me too..St. Lukes said that I have something suspicious in my lungs (I had cough and colds the week I did my medical)...Had to do the 3 day sputum test and wait for 2 months for the result..It was negative!

Guess what, when I got here in the US I had to do the PPD test, x-ray and the culture again..It turned out NEGATIVE as well! That's why I am so irritated at St. Lukes..I don't even know what their basis are..The delay was never worth it!
