I'm confused. First my hubby got 2 emails saying his EAD card production was ordered (one last week and one today). Now today he got one saying that it was approved. Which comes first? I thought the approval comes first then the card production?

That happened to me too! I had card ordered emails on the 11th and 18th, then yesterday I finally got the one that says its been mailed. Who knows why it took so long!

Has anyone used PC-Streaming.com to get UK tv? I looked it up and thought it seemed a bit pricey but am seriously considering it as i've got Strictly withdrawals!

I just pulled up the AOS timeline and last week they approved cases from between January '09 to June '09. I'm sure yours will be approved soon

My daughter has flown many times with US airways, is under 12, and they have always charged me full fare for her!! But then I book online, so it may be worth calling them to see if they have a 'child fare'. I can tell you though, people fly with babies long haul ALL the time, so don't worry!

Your right, sometimes there is some inconsistency of application of rules, but (and this is not directed at you Laura but is of course aimed at Miss G's post) there are more appropriate ways of expressing your disappointment.

Miss G I skipped right over your post because your second post regarding the license situation was after Marm had informed the board that she had been given the wrong information about her case and her fiances visa was STILL in AP. If anybody has earned the right to come shouting and screaming on these boards about things being unfair then she has. I bet she'd give anything for her fiance to be in this country right now, arguing with officials about driving licenses.

I understand everyone has different priorities, and I am in NO WAY speaking on Marm's behalf, but I will always ignore posts where people use language like that. Your frustrated, I'm frustrated and I curse like a sailor, but there is a time and a place.....and I dont want to read it.

OK, barging in again to tell you all...ignore the happy ranting posts...

I called DOS again today, spoke to 2 different reps, both confirmed that he is still in AP. I don't know why the DOS rep yesterday had to tell us that the visa is issued and spend a good 2-3 minutes congratulating me. So moral of the story: DOS reps can and do lie. And in this case, she is getting away with it, because I didn't get her name, so there is nothing I can do except tell my congressman/senators and I doubt they will do anything. Fact is he is still in AP And when he does get the visa, I am going to wait until it is in his hands, in front of him before I get all excited like I did.

Marm, don't be too disheartened just yet. After my interview, I waited a few days then called DOS for one person to tell me one day that my visa had been issued but that my daughters HAD NOT BEEN APPROVED!! I nearly had a heart attack and was beside myself until the next day, when the courier txt and said my VISAS were on their way. I have had mixed respones from DOS more than once. I doubt very much they got it wrong when they told you it had been approved. Call again later and ask to speak to a supervisor if you still get a conflicting response.

Has anyone found a British food website that ships over here without charging an arm and a leg? The cheapest I have found so far is 31.99 pounds for up to 5kg weight, which i'm not prepared to pay. Any ideas? I'm specifically looking for just my baking stuff, syrup, treacle, chocolate etc. Or if anyone knows where you can get it out here?? Oh, if anyone has found puff pastry PLEASE tell me where

Just make sure you have insurance that covers pregnancy, I know mine won't cover me for the first 12 months and i'm not eligible for medicaid!

Mine was at 2pm, but I arrived at 1.15pm and went straight in, no problems. Just be sure to take your marriage certificate and letter, plus the MSC numbers for EAD/I-485 as you need to put those on the form, also your SSN if you have one (don't worry if you don't).

I didn't try an early walk-in, I looked into it and couldn't find out if it was possible.....I can tell you though that when I had my appointment earlier this month there were very few people in there and I was in and out in 10 minutes. Good luck if you try!

But if you file concurrently with the I-485 it costs no more and you will have peace of mind that if in the event of an emergency or family crisis (eg funeral, serious illness etc) you have the option of travelling without jeopardising your GC application. It would be prudent to apply regardless of whether you think you need it now or not!
