  3. WHAT IS NEEDED FOR AN E TICKET DEPARTURE, JAL FROM MANILA? WE HAVE VISA WITH CFO STICKER, ITENERERY, POSTAL I.D. I PURCHASED THE TICKET THROUGH A TRAVEL AGENCY HERE IN THE U.S. ANYTHING ELSE THAT WE MAY NEED???

DO NOT NEED ANY SUPRISES ON THE DAY OF THE FLIGHT!!!!!

    THANKS

    j&J

E-tix,passport should be fine upon check in-Not sure about the travel tax.Coz i didn't pay mine and my 2 children. We purchased our tickets through expedia although when we called expedia about travel tax the said it wasn't included on our payment but i didn't pay a dime at the airport. But to make it a hassle free, bring with you pesos that could cover the terminal fee and other unexpected fees at the airport, and if you get lucky without paying anything, you can change it to $ at the forex booth before Immigration, like i did. So,better ready than sorry.Happy safe trip

  6. My wife's K3 visa AND I-130 were both approved in June on the same day (we waited 1 year for approval). After receiving approval, we chose to continue with the K3 visa because we were told it would be a few weeks faster than continuing with the I-130 application. At that time I was not aware that filing an adjustment of status, which is a requirement only if you come here on a K3 visa, would cost $1100!

Since the K3 is SUPPOSED to be FASTER than the I-130, and it wasn't, I want to appeal to immigration to waive the AOS fee. However the only fee waiver process I'm aware of for immigration requires you to prove you are unable to pay the fee. I *can* pay the fee if I have to, but feel it is not fair to charge me the fee since the K3 delayed a year and was approved on the same day as my I-130.

Has anyone made a similar appeal? And was it successful? Any info would be appreciated!

Good luck to all of you who are still waiting. For what it's worth, I can tell you that after your spouse arrives, this pain will all become a distant memory. I know that probably doesn't help.

Filing for AOS is always necessary for an immigrant.

No, it's not. Those who enter the US with immigrant visas like CR1 and IR1 do not need to adjust status. They enter with permanent resident status. However, USCIS is not going to waive the AOS fee because the couple failed to educate themselves about the fees and/or full ramifications of their decision to file the I-129F and pursue the K2 visa instead of CR1 or IR1.

We all pay the AOS fee of $1,010...I assume u want your wife to have a green card and be able to stay here America with you.Money keep things moving-Gotta deal with that.

  7. I do miss my husband too. :(

I've already said this on my previous post but,i feel so sad reading this whole waiting period coz i and my husband experienced the same thing. We waited 12 months long for the petition approval and over 3 months more after visa interview and delivery of visa- it made me so sick and tired but we hold on to what we have promised to each other when we got married. Finally here in America,1 month today since we arrived here together with my 2children.Amazing coz It feels like we've been together for 20 yrs, things are doing pretty well as part of our master plan.Hold on ladies and it all paid off and it's always fun and satisfying to look back after what we all we've been through!

  8. Nope. Still waiting... pray that I will get my VISA para damayan kita dyan. HAHAHA!!! How's the weather there?

Oh sure,i'm praying for everyone ,i know gaano kahirap maghintay to something we shouldn't be.Weather sor far is nice and cool, last week lang medyo frosty kaya not much fun.Sana dito ka na before Christmas.Goodluck..

  9. We were K-3 so the lady excepted my wifes passport. My brothers wife was a K1 and she had to wait for her EAD. I'm assuming you went to the DMV on 98 next to the Highway Patrol office. The motor vehicle on forest oaks won't process state ID,s for foreigners.

Hi,im here in Florida too, what's the purpose of getting the state id?for what?is there any fees for that?my husband doesn't even have one.

  10. on Nov.5 i call usem and my pocket waiting delivery through delbros

So I checked on the online tracking system,

it said that it was still in process in usem

so i was thinking my pocket still in usem

When I called the SIG Department in Delbros about it,

They forward me this number 339-2761 to contact

I spoke to this woman who asked for my case number

and she told me Ohhhhhhhhhhhh..... Mam your visa is in cagayan de oro city already

    I said WOWWWWW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I was very happy

    but

I expected that delbros confirm that my visa on the way for the delivery

folks: I just posted this incident so that you can be aware.

My fellow vj that you need to

follow up to yourself double check in their job.....

This is for your future references

This happened at Nov. 6 2 pm

Good for you ladyinpink...You got your visa now, something to celebrate!

  11. If your child was undergoing treatment for TB when you left the Phils., it would be wise to bring with you already the medicines she takes. It took us two days to get her medicine as she had yet to be checked by the family doctor and when the prescription was finally approved, the pharmacy had yet to make it, as they said, from the scratch.

Are you here in the US?

  12. Hi everyone! :D

I thought of making a record of the US whereabouts of each VJ member from the Philippines. This will give us a idea which member is living close to the city/state we are in and maybe we would want to meet each other in the future. After I gather the information of all members, I will make a table by city and state for everyone's reference. Are you game? ;)

    I'm starting with mine:

    City: Mesa

    State: Arizona

I've never notice this post but today..i hope am not too late for the registration..lol-but it's my 4th week here in JACKSONVILLE FLORIDA...

  13. hi guys! i'm here now in michigan w/ my hubby! grabe ang biyahe ang tagal 16hrs..good thing my son keeps on sleeping & he enjoy the foods that the airlin is serving...we arrived here 11am of Oct.29...tanx everyone! buti naman atwala kaming naging problema sa immigration & customs here in Detroit Airport as well as diyan sa NAIA. sobrang lamig na dito ngayon kahit start pa lng nang fall...

    Yay..welcome to the US

  14. Hi there, i'm just curious if the child is TB positive, r u still allow to leave the country? coz, it thought like adults they will have to finish the treatment first? hope ur kid wil be fine soon. :)

    Yes, we were allowed.

Actually, the TB medications that my daughter has been taking for about 3 months now was more of prophylactic she having had a history of primary complex. I had her checked for TB a month and half before our medical exam and the pulmonolist found some spots on her lungs (cannot recall the exact word...something like calcified) and just to be sure that there would be no problem when we finally had our medical exam at SLEC, the pulmonologist prescribed us the meds for prophylaxis. I am also taking the same meds.

Because I brought with me our medical records including immunization history at SLEC, we were spared from the tuberculin testing and had just our chest x-ray which yielded normal findings. Despite that, I would rather complete our prophylaxis especially that we surely will be going home for vacations every year.

So then you are on Class B...nothing to worry about.Once you arrive here in the States, your POE Immigration Officer will contact you to see your local health center and also the health center in your area will contact you and your daughter for a visit at their clinic.

  15. Hey, this is CJ-G (there's also another CJ who also posts on K3 items). I'm wondering how many of you long-suffering souls are at (or very close to) 9 months in waiting for I-129F approval for a K3. I know from looking at the posts and statistics that more than a few of you unfortunately exist. I am only at 7 months (as of Tuesday), so my thoughts are with you, you don't deserve this stress, but I was hoping I could read some feedback from some of you who are at this point, and give you the opportunity to share what you have gone through, and what information (if any) you have been able to receive from USCIS about your case.

Please feel free to vent, also. I wish you all the best, and an overdue (and well-deserved) approval. It seems more and more like many of us in the pipe may well find ourselves in the same boat you are in at this point.

    -CJ

we waited 12 months before approval...You'll be fine,Hang in there

  16. I filed my I130 october 8 2007, because of the backlash in July 2007 they did not send my noa 1 until January 18th. I sent in my I129 back in February 2008 and got my Noa 1 for in March 2008. It has been a year since I petitioned. I just did a research inquired and they sent me a notice today saying my case is still pending. No additional information. I have been getting a little help from Congressman but not much. I have really lost patience because my son is over in the philippines with my wife and I am missing him growing up. I lived 3 years in asia with my wife and I am very temped to go back to teaching English in Korea so we can be together. Up until now I been taking a some what passive stance because the uscis website was showing that they had not reach my process date until now. Now I have lost patience and I really want to hit them aggressive in anyway I can to get them to speed things up. I going to really start pressuring my congress man to step and start calling the uscis daily if I have to. What suggestions do you guys have to speed things up? I been reading the forums and many people who petition after me already got their noa 2. So I can actually get to see my son grow up some what do i need to do to get immigration to speed up????/?

Never be impatient and hopeless. My husband and i and our children waited 12months before USCIS approved both our I-129F and I-130 petitions and we thought the waiting is over since 1 more month to go for interview but unfortunately,we still had to wait 7 weeks after interview to get our visas in hand.So we did had 15 months total. We're now enjoying our fmaily time together here in America. You have been patience so just be patient some more.Goodluck

  17. Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help me. I keep looking at my VJ time lines and im very confused. For my

I-129F It says that it will be adjudicated between 28 March 2009 and April. then the next day it say between feb and march. it keeps changing so dont know the proper timeline.

Also the timeline for my I-130 keeps saying it will be adjudicated in Jan or Feb. Which is quite far before my I-129F. I was wondering... if my I-130 is approved before my i-129f can i leave the country immediately? do i still need a k3 visa? will i still have to wait for my i-129f to also be approved.

im very confused so any help would be great.

Good luck to all in your journey. Hope it speeds up

    Kirsten

Our I-129F and I-130 were approved both at the same time but in some cases,I-129F usually comes first and I131 later, you could have been here in the US by the time it'll be approved. But yes, petition is not a visa.Medical and interview will follow,so you'll have likely 2-3 months more to go after approval pf petition.Goodluck

  18. Hi there, i'm just curious if the child is TB positive, r u still allow to leave the country? coz, it thought like adults they will have to finish the treatment first? hope ur kid wil be fine soon. :)

TB has 2 classifications.Class A is positive TB infection and could pass to anyone, yes u can enter the US if you have an approved waiver of excludability for Class A but in some cases you need to do your treatmetment in the Philipines. If Class B TB is not infectious so you a child or an adult could travel, but you need to see the health department in your area.

  19. From the NVC instructions:

    "Document Requirements

The applicant and each family member who will accompany the applicant to the United States will need to submit the following original documents or certified copies of the documents listed in this section from an appropriate authority (the issuing entity). In addition to sending the original documents or certified copies of the documents to the NVC, the applicant and each accompanying family member must submit a photocopy of the original documents or certified copies of the documents".

This means we have to provide originals and copies for all document? Is this what everybody has done?

Also do you use a pen or just a pencil to write the NVC case number on top of the original document that will be returned (marriage certificate for example)?

    Thank you for your advice.

i'm already here in the US with my 2 kids but we never done the ds-230.when we called NVC since they sent us a letter about the ds-230 form. They said that we dont need to do the ds-230 coz were already here in the US instead we do the AOS which we are planning to do after our 2yrs wedding ann Feb2009.We will call USCIS regarding this matter.

  20. Anybody who've got married first before getting the passport?guyz i am so confused about that CFO seminar because i had a friend girl before she's got married to a foreigner first before she's getting her passport but she was used right away her husband last name without attending that CFO seminar?do i really need to attend that CFO seminar what if i did'nt and i have no CFO cert.?have any conflict for the visa process?guyzzz help please that CFO seminar....need more advise...need to know more what is the advantages or disadvantages if you have CFO cert.already or not?? :help: again....thanks VJ's member!

My old passport expired 1 month before i'm getting married so i decided to wait after our wedding to renew my passpot,i didn't have to attend CFO since i'm a renewal-this time i used my husbands name.you could do same thing i did.Dont worry about CFO,after your wedding,go to CFO-just bring along your documents-then you'll be all set for applying your passport.Goodluck

  21. Claudeth and I have had some discussions about having a baby. I am a bit worried about it because I am 59. My Father died when he was 53 and I was only 9 and I was cheated from being able to grow up with him. I don't want that to happen but then again, I would love to share the blessing of a child with my wonderful wife, best friend and life's companion.

    What do you think?

My husband is 55 and i'm 29-he has a 7yr old son and i have 9 and 12.We agreed that no more baby, not for any health concern but we want to give the 3 children our love and attention as they grow up + i know we're all aware how expensive America is.Just being smart. But if you guys doesn't have a child, either the two of you the maybe you consider that and make a decision.Goodluck
