  1. Thanks for your reply, and that is what I see in some places, others tell me 120 days, others 6 months

so I figured the only way to truly know is to ask who has been approved and when they filed. The graphs and charts

change almost daily up and down, and with Vermont months behind California, it would make sense for then to share the load, but I guess that is why that has not happened. Doing our best. Thanks.

  2. Perhaps if we could get the e-mail addresses of those in congress who supervise the work of USCIS and ask them these questions.

After waiting so long for the approval of the K-3, it will be a simple matter of waiting another month or so for the I-130, and we will not have to adjust status which for us would be 2000.00 because of the child. Trouble is, time sensitive documents like police certificates, tax and credit statements which are good only for a short period and take up to a month to renew. We are ok with waiting a year if we must but I would go see her in Jaunary or February if I know this will be the case. If I make plans now for January, will I be approved in February and have to return in March? Because USCIS seems intent on secrecy, we can make no plans for the future, and as far as the LIFE act is concerned, it is apparently misunderstood and maybe totally ignored in Vermont. Were I inside the service center, I would see that the K-3 took precedence in order to assure the government that the adjustment of status payment would be money available to the government. If expedited service was available, I would pay that too. The people there do not seem to understand that the people who petition have lives too, and are still entitled to the pursuit of happiness, even if it is with a spouse who was born in another country. I am ready to leave the country now, just to be with my family. Maybe Canada, maybe England, where it is possible for hard working honest people to be treated that way instead of a potential threat to the country. I made a request of my government to allow my wife, the one I happened to meet in a different country, and her six year old child, my family now, to come here so we can be together as the LIFE act said was possible. I have done all they have asked, including submission of documents and of course the money that was required, but in return for that, I have no idea what I will receive or when. Constantly changing dates and processing times have shown me that not only is it impossible to speak with someone at the customer service number who can give any insight as to where our petions are and when processing will begin, but it apears that USCIS is unsure of the dates it is actually processing now. All you need to do is check the processing times on a weekly basis as I have done, and you will see the dates go from month to month, sometimes forwards, sometimes backwards, and when they are totally unsure, or maybe just to keep everyone confused, they will show maybe six months instead. Truth is they dont really know. But, if you are sponsoring someone for employment, and you pay one thousand dollars, you are assured a visa in twenty days or a definite reason for refusal and chance for appeal. It seems that money can speed things along, but for those who simply want life to be normal, we do not have sufficient reason to deserve such an opportunity. In these economic times, and the government making promises for lower taxes, stimulus packages that will cost billions of dollars, and the need to replace this money in some manner, does it make any sense to make it possible for petitioners to pay for expedited service for any reason?

I think it makes good sense not only for myself but for so many others who have waited longer than we have. In this way, at least we can play a role in the timing of our processing. Of course, I am back to common sense and logical thinking. An attorney once told me that was a problem for me, because the world does not work this way. I still hope he was wrong

  3. Hey All

I thought the K-3 was designed to allow us to be together while we wait for the CR-1.If the processing time is the same, what is the point of going through all the ####### for the K-3? The posted processing times, if accurate, shows that both of our petitions will begin processing at the same time. Could this be part of the problem with the service centers and why it is taking so long? If the processing time is going to be the same, why do they provide false hopes of us being reunited sooner with the K-3 visa after we filed the I-130 when it seems this only adds to their workload trying to process two sets of documents at the same time? Just trying to look at the situation with common sense and logical thinking. Good luck to all. Hope you all have a great Christmas gift grom USCIS.

  4. With the new recording at the customer service number, it seems to be increasingly difficult to reach a live person

at USCIS. I am not outside the window yet, but I would like to verify that my documents have not been lost as I have

heard of before. My dates have not been updated since August on the K-3 petition, and the I-130 for my stepdaughter has not been touched since July even though the I-130 for my wife was touched on 10-5, a Sunday. I was not aware they were working Sundays. Still, Vermont seems to be desperately behind, and of course they do not feel the need to be courteous enough to at least give us some idea to believe that they will get any better any time soon. With the state of the economy and rising unemployment, should they be hiring or should the government be outsourcing? Seems like people on the west coast know how to get things done. In the good old days, especially in the private sector, when very busy, people were expected to buck up and handle the additional workload in the same time frame, but that was before we had recordings that explained away our shortcomings by saying, "we are soooooooooooooo busy". This leaves us as the people waiting in the doctors office while the doctor steps out the back door to go to lunch. I only need to wait long enough and he will be back.............................won't he?

Now that I have vented a bit, has anyone spoken to someone live and will share the secret with us?

    Thanks for your patience

  5. I have been following the processing timelines shown for Vermont

as they have changed from May to April and then to March. Are they really

working? My petition date is August and I am wondering if I should be planning

another trip to visit my wife or if Vermont is actually going to do something

to process the petitions they receive, or if we need to ask if USCIS will

consider transferring the massive workload these people suffer, to

California who seems to be either performing or they have a light

    workload. Any ideas?

  6. What is it that everyone seems to be getting together that Vermont does not seem to even have in sight?

It cannot be money thats for sure. With any luck, the fact that K-3's seem to be taking longer than most others,

will mean that my wife's I-130 will go through about the same time as her K-3 and she will not have to adjust

status and of course, we will not have to pay the hefty fee for AOS. Waiting could turn out to be worth it.

  7. Hello All;

I agree that premium processing should be the word of the day and should equate to working the job they are given, and 15 days should be more than enough time to review a file and make a decision, but I can see than most of you have a date that you can say the file was "touched" by USCIS, and I understand this is a VJ term and not one used by USCIS but I sent my I-130 in July and my I129f in August but still the website tells me only what the first NOA told me. Where would the date show to indicate it has even begun the processing journey? From what I can tell, they have received it and done nothing.

    Starting to worry

  8. Just wanted to ask how many of you opted for the extra thousand dollars for premium processing that is supposed to be complete in 15 days? I have been thinking about it but hesitate to pull the money out of the bank. Wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience before I speak to the wife about it.

    Thanks All

  9. I have to ask where I can see the touch or last updated date on the website?

It seems almost everyone has at least one touch date but the website

only tells me what the NOA1 told me as well as the cs number with the recording.

I sent I-129 on Aug 8, they signed Aug 9 and I received the 797 with Aug 14 date

and that is all the website tells me. Doe that me it has not been looked at yet?

    Thanks

  10. I ask anyon who hasgonethrough Kiev forheir interview for a K-3 visa what documents they were asked for at the first window. Were they looking for originals or were copies good. I have assembled all copies and originals and it amounts to quite a stack of documents and I am told that I should minimize it which did not make sense since I also heard that they could ask for nearly anything. How was yur experience? Onelast question, whatisthetouch date I have seen?

    Thanks all
