  1. I mean the ROC. Sorry about the confusion.

His passport was never stamped when he went into the October appointment at the RDU field office. They just took photos and finger prints at that visit. They did stamp his appointment notice, but that just states that he'd gone to the appointment. It doesn't validate a residency extension. The letter did that.

I plan on bringing the appointment notice (which they stamped), his passport, residency card, and our flight itinerary to his appointment tomorrow.

  2. When does his Green Card expire?

(Keep in mind, when they slide his Green Card, the 1-year extension is already in the computer.)

The card expired last Nov. We already have done the AOS within the 90 days and had an appointment at the field office in October. I was told on the phone they could not resend out the last letter (with the extension on it 11/12 is the date the letter is good till), but I could get the field office to do this. So I have an appointment on Wednesday. Just need to tell him. :( I've looked everywhere. Tore threw his immigration folder a dozen times. Ugh!!!

I'm vaguely remembering he was free to travel and return, but I cannot remember if he needed to show the paperwork?

  3. Last November my husband received a one year temporary notification while USCIS works on his adjustment of status. I think it got shredded by mistake.

We have an appointment on Wednesday at the local field office and I think I heard the lady right on the phone, but the field office can reprint this document. We are going out of the country on Thursday and I am just sick over this. I did find the notice before, which is an appointment notice that's been stamped by RDU field office.

Any advise or have you had to get the field office to reprint a residency extension?

    Help!!!!

    Thank you,

    Karen

Ps.... June 3rd is the earliest his AOS will be complete.

  4. John and I were finally approved on 6/17. We got our NOA2 for both cases on Monday. We're both very excited. The husband is on his way back to the UK this afternoon. :-( While he was here we filled out all the forms needed for the next step (thanks to James's shortcuts), I've gotten all the tax transcripts, tax returns, (all of John's stuff photo copied), signatures, etc. John ordered his Police files this past week (before he came). We kinda had a feeling our time was coming, since we were nearing the 11 month mark on the I-130. We are prepared for the next step and beyond. Woo hoo!

I hope the next two steps (NVC and American Embassy in London) are quicker than the 11 months at VSC.

    Woo hoo!

If I've every sounded like a huge whiner.... I'm truly sorry. It's been a long wait period.

  5. To quote: How does he return to the US? - as I understood it I cannot visit my wife whilst the visa process is in place.. it would make a world of difference to be able to see her once in a while at least.. been 8 months online and webcam sad.gif

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I was told by an Immigration attorney that he could come and visit, but he can be denied entrance and if so, he's to surrender his petition to enter and the go back to the UK. So far, he's only been detained once for four hours. They asked him 1 question, "When's your birthday?" Then they let him go. Each time he's come into the states he's told the Customs Officer that he's here to see his wife. So, no point in lying -- we've been advised what would happen if he massaged the truth a bit or even lied. NO thank you!

  6. My husband is a British citizen too. We've been waiting nearly 11 months for the I-130 and 9.5 months for the K-3. I've had two Service Requests put in for our cases, two InfoPass appointments, and one Congressman David Price step in.

VSC is dreadfully slow. I'm so thankful that my husband has been able to come to his US home every 8 weeks and stay for nine days. That's been great during these trying times. Though being here forever with us (my daughter and I) would be the best.

Pull a chair up and hang out with the rest of us VSC'ers. :-)

  7. Our K-3 and I-130 is stuck at the VSC and has been for 285 days (K3) and 327 (I-130). I had two InfoPass appointments and each time I was told, sorry, I have no update (and they don't share databases so they couldn't look at my case -- just send emails up to the VSC). I eventually sent off a few emails to two NC Senators and one Congressman. Congressman David Price's office is working with me in getting some resolution. They phone VSC a few weeks ago and were told they (VSC) were sending me an RFE. I got the RFE a day later and found one of the documents they were requesting I already sent, twice and asked for my signature in blue ink -- not black (as the paper work says use blue or black ink).

And yes, the system is broken, which is something I addressed in my emails to the politicians.

It's very frustrating. I'm sure there are plenty of others who've waited longer than I have. I'll pull from their strength to get through this process.

  8. hi everyone..we are also in the same situation. Service request doesnt seem to help. Its just their way to make us keep quite and wait for another 45 days.

Why have they given 6 months timeframe if they cant . They should write the processing dates instead, so that we can have better idea on whats going on there.

Have you heard of any recent k-3 (VSC) approvals in this current week?

    Good luck to everyone waiting.

That's just it. Don't provide a within XX days (time frame) in your letters. They can't even be accountable for their failure to deliver by their said dates or time frames. If you are given a time frame and the date's not met, I think it would be beneficial to all that USCIS give a reason why and what they're waiting for. Rather than us having to follow-up and request another Service Request.

I understand and appreciate their need to weed out bad eggs and check out the good eggs (most of us) in the process. But just frustrating when they miss dates or take too long without giving an update to folks who are waiting.

    Ok.. off my soapbox.

  9. How many Service Requests does it take for someone to approve our K-3? It's been 245 days since our K-3 has been at VSC and I've just called in our 2nd Service Request.

What's up with VSC? Why are they taking so bloody long?

My husband and I have been trying really hard to be patient with this whole process, but 8 months since they received the paperwork and still NOTHING. Some people are getting approve faster than others and some people have been waiting longer then us (bless you).

    What's up?

    Thanks for letting me vent.

Time has come to contact your congressman or senator!!!!! VSC stands for Very SLow Center. I know first hand, I spent 6 months there last year, when it was truly Hell of Earth.

FWIW, I emailed Congressman, Senator and President. Even if it goes on deaf ears.... it's been relayed. It's a problem that our government should look into. I think they're too busy trafficking the illegals they're forgetting us who are doing it the legal (correct) way. Something has to be done in realigning resources and getting the process to work smoothly and within a six month time frame. I know... wishful thinking.

    Thanks y'all.

    Karen

  10. Sorry to hear you are still there.

were the service request you posted effective?

I have practiced emergency request, seemed to be pretty automated for going directly to trash.

would call again until clear about what is going on , ask to speak to supervision?

I was pretty inquisitive with this agent. Agent was pretty much tied to her 'canned' responses.

I asked for a supervisor, and she (the Agent) responded, "I'm sorry for your frustration, but there is no update in your case. You've already opened one Service Request and you may not be be able to open another -- I'll have to check the system." Which she was able to create a 2nd SR on the K-3.

I like when she mentioned I needed to wait 60 days for a response, but yet the letter states within 30 days. (I'm being sarkie) :-)

  12. Sherry, my husband is in England too.

I share everyones frustration with the waiting period.

Our I-130 is 285 days out and our K-3 is 243 days out. I put in a Service Request on April 1st. Received an email notice from USCIS on April 4th stating they'd have a decision within 30 days from the date of the email. Hmmm... that's tomorrow and we haven't received anything. :-(

My husband and I get a lot of questions about when he'll get here or how's the process going. Tired of going through everything over and over. Patience is key, but frustration is always there ready to rear its ugly head. :-(

    Let us know updates.

    Best,

    Karen

  13. I called USCIS today since my two files are over the six month processing timeline. They created two service requests (for VSC).

I feel for everyone who's playing the waiting game. This process is simply inconsistent. I despise calling USCIS since they're very robotic in their canned questions and they read from the same sheet of music we do (their website). I understand it's their job, but what would be nice is tell us where they are in the process. What are they waiting on, what's their timeframe????? I digress. *sigh*

Patience is key -- but frustration is KING! UGH!!!!
