  1. We filed in June and were transferred in July. Still waiting here too.

is yours still in California?? mine has moved back to my local office ughhhh. oh another question for everyone, my medical i did for my visa, i did it in Nov 08, knowing its only good for 1 year. i filed for my AOS back in July, im now worried that because i havent been approved will my upcoming expiring medical cause a problem??

we filed in april and were approved yesterday..it was transferred in june and then it just sat there for months.... it'll come eventually!

  2. That seems an awfully long time to wait for your green card. I would give them a call and find out what's going on (if you haven't yet)!

Also, it doesn't matter that your K1 isn't in your passport as it's invalid anyway. You're currently out of status if your green card hasn't been approved. What you need to get back in the US is your AP document - have you at least received that yet? If not, I strongly advise you to rethink your trip to the UK - you should have been given proper instruction to NOT leave the US unless you have your green card in hand or the travel document.

I completely agree with what Gemmie has said. You have been waiting a long time now and people who filed a long time after you have received their GC. If you filed in April you are currently out of processing times and if you call, they should be able to look in to what is happening with your case.

Have you signed up for the website updates?

Have you moved since you filed your petition.

    Did you receive an RFE?

It is imperative that you do not leave until the travel papers or GC are in hand. If you travel to the UK before this, your AOS will be deemed to have been abandoned and you will have to apply for a spousal visa. This will mean living apart until another visa is granted.

I have got my AP - again in my married name! I did sign up for the website to and it was looked at October 19th, but is still awaiting processing. No RFE... (yet!) I tried calling but I couldn't figure out the options to get through to a real person! Plus it said 6 months from date of transferral or so I thought. Maybe it was 6 months from date of AOS? I didn't want to call if I was still within processing times....I guess I will try and call again later today. Does anyone have the number to speak to someone? Thanks for your help!

AP is fine in the married name. All you need to do is have a copy of your marriage cert to prove name change. All of us gals will be in that situation with regard to passport vs greencards vs AP docs.

It's from the time you sent it in. That should be the date counted from. That's when you submitted it. When they transferred is nothing to do with you it was their decision to do so.

The number I found was 1-800-767-1833. I have never had to give them a call but i am sure you'll get the options board again. See if there is an option at the end to get an operator. Dont be fobbed off by the people they get to answer the phones. I filed in late August and have just had my GC approved. You should be much further along in

the process by now than you currently are. You are way outside of processing times for your EAD.

I have my EAD also but still waiting on the g/c... wasn't sure if i was out of status on that... thanks for your help, going to try calling them now...i'm getting worried!

  4. Hi everyone, I haven't really posted on here in a long time but i've been vaguely following and see a lot of congrats are due!

Anyway, I have a bit of a problem, not really sure what to do so I thought I'd see if anyone has any ideas... We sent our AOS in April, got transferred in June and now we're still waiting... I've booked a trip to leave the US over xmas in my married name but my passport is in my maiden name. If I renew it and I don't get the old one back, does it matter I no longer have the original K1 visa as I don't have my gc? I can't see why it should but I'm worried I'm missing something... Any advice on whether to wait/change passport would be greatly appreciated. Obviously hoping the gc will arrive soon but not holding my breath.... Thanks!

  5. I'm here on a k-1 visa with my two children.. went sent in our AOS package in April, and we have yet to get our GC or hear anything about the interview. Now my son and I have had our Biometric done, and we got word during the summer that our case was sent to cali, but since then we have heard a single thing. I'm seeing people that sent in their AOS in june and July getting GC or interviews and I'm wondering if i should be calling them to check up on our case or not.

Is there anyone else out there that applied at the sametime as me that hasnt heard anything yet ? Should I be calling them to check on our applications, or wait it out a little bit more ?

we applied same time and we're still waiting too.... not heard anything since june but it says four months on the website so another month to go before i can call.... i think there are a few other people waiting too i read somewhere...

  6. I'm trying to start Columbus state this quarter, but as I still don't have my greencard it's going to cost me international fees ($200 and something as opposed to $79) - no matter that I live here - until I can provide proof that my AOS has been approved.... So I'm hoping it comes soon or else I'll have to put it off til next year... Guess it's different in every state, perhaps we should move to Illinois!

  7. Hi

Chibby - I'm so confused by the spreadsheet but.. we had our AP in the mail on saturday and EAD is apparently ordered and case transferred to CSC also a couple of days ago.. Not 100% sure of dates, we were away, missed the biometrics appointment so showed up there last Tuesday and then all this happened within days!! I thought we would be so behind after they lost our case so I'm happy!

  8. We have just applied for AOS and i just had my EAD card ordered. Does anyone know if I can send away now for a new passport or do I need to wait? It's supposed to take around 6 weeks....

You can apply up to 9 months before your passport is due to expire. As far as I know, where you are in the US immigration process has no bearing on UK passport renewal.

Thank you! Just wanted to be sure I don't need my passport for any part of the process as I won't have it...

  9. Zoe and Hal!

I notice you're local office is in Columbus, Ohio! Are you from there? my wife is going to be taking her driving test here in the near future!

We're in Dublin but I took my test in Hilliard, it was a doddle...She should really pass no prob!

That's awesome. I work in Dublin over by Tuttle Crossing, and live down in Grove City. She was laughing at the driving book and tests...She just wants to get a few hours driving in as she's never held a license before, so we're starting from scratch. I told her the same thing though, the driving test is easy as pie.

I've been driving for 10 years and still can't park and the guy actually directed me through the cones so I didn't hit any!

  10. ZoeandHal, I am sorry for you!! I hope you will have good news and that they will find your case!

Congrats on everybody who is moving along. No update on my side. Hope I will get EAD within the next 4 weeks though (I guess just like most of you).

Thanks! Our case always seems to be the one getting lost so I can't say I'm surprised but at least this time we are on the same side of the pond!

  11. congrats to everyone!

Here's hoping that the rest of us get ours just as quickly!

Still no online case status for the EAD. It keeps saying it doesn't exist, so i might call in to check on it this week. No RFE in the mail so that's a good thing!

AOS has been touched a couple times last week, so hopefully that's good and not bad :P

Oh, and Sarah's picked up our traffic laws book for Ohio! Hopefully we can get her license soon!

she should have no problem with the license - took mine a couple of weeks ago, had just to drive round the block and reverse through a couple of cones!

  12. No record of the biometrics appointment or no record of you AOS? I hope it arrives and you don't wait 30 days. I would be worried too. I would wait a week and call again.

Congrats to everyone doing biometrics this week and getting letters! Exciting times!!!

No record of our case or biometrics! It's not showing on the website either so they told me to call back after 30 days of the NOA date.

Chibby - I would send you dates but we don't have any! We received our notice on April 22nd, not heard anything since....

  13. Hi

I've been offline for a while and still not worked out how to fill in the spreadsheet but we got our notice April 22nd and still no biometrics... Anyone else still waiting? Or am I the only one?

    Thanks!

You are not alone. I, too got all the NOAs on April 22, and am still waiting for the biometric notice.

But I've already gotten the transfer notice by mail, dated May 11. :o

I would call and see if something happened to your biometrics appointment. Maybe it was lost in the mail or came back to them.

They have no record.. told me to wait til 30 days was up and call again... a little worried!
