  1. my SSN is still in the process and it's been 12 weeks today,I need to apply job as soon as possible. Will the employer will hire me even if I don't have ssn yet? but I can provide my employment authorization card. Does anybody hire been hired for work without ssn? please guide me.

I dont think employer will hire without SSN, if you already applied and havent gotten the card, u can go back to the SS office and told them that you havent received it, they can give u the number first. Thats what we did... hope it helps

  2. We just moved to our new house. Good thing our neighbor has a net connection. LOL! Thanks no need for a password, I was able to connect =) Woot woot..

Good news.. My AP was approved! I also received an email stating that they updated my applications (I-130, I-485, I-765).. God is good.. I'm looking forward for my biometrics appointment on December 3.

Wow congrats KM 24 on your AP approval... well we havent heard anything on my husband AP :( Did they update ur case also in the INS website? By the way we did walk in today in Pomona... it went well... the lady took us because she said there were not a lot of people. We got there around noon and we were the first one, so she said usually we have to wait cuz they will prioritized someone with appt, so I guess we were lucky, so KM 24 if you want to try to walk in u can do so and maybe come by around noon....

congrats also on ur new home... hope we can get something on my husband's AP

do they usually send also by mail if they approve the EAD or AP

Happy Thanksgiving all... Hope all of you have a very nice Thanksgiving

  3. We moved to CA last June, filed AR11 change of Address 2 weeks after we moved. They received my son's I485 Application on July 5,2009 received the I-797 NOA a few weeks after that to our new address. I checked his case status online just now and I got this message.

On November 16, 2009, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.

So, I called 1-800# and she gave me a referral number and said that if I dont hear from them within 45 days, call them back.

What should I do? I really don't know what to do next. Please help!!

    And what is infopass??

Did you ask for service request? we had the same problem also, the diff we didnt move. If you already have appt assign you can ask if they are willing to fax it to you... if you already did a service request, it will take usually about a week. We called 1800 # also on 11/16 and we received the letter last Friday. Yes they will tell you to wait for about 30-45 days... hope this helps...

  4. DallasJeeper

I had my walk-in bio done at Dallas office on Friday, 2 weeks earlier than the original apptointment date. They wanted to know the reason why we came in earlier so we told them what our reason was and they let us in.

We also brought our marriage certificate to match the name written on my appointment letter.

It took about 10-15 mins to get the fingerprint and photo taken. It was painless. Good luck to you! :star:

    Djohn happy bday!!

SnS, if I may ask, what would be a good reason to tell the security officer if you want to do walk in biometric appt... we are thinking to do walk in appt, but his will be in Pomona, CA... does anybody ever done it in CA? thanks

  5. thank God and thank you VJ members (Oct Filers) for your prayers.. I got my Biometrics Appointment, that will be on December 3, 2009 at 3pm =) I'm so happy.. and now I'll be waiting for the notice of my change of address.. we'll be moving to our new home tomorrow!

The notice date on my letter was 11/6 and they sent the mail just last 11/18.. Just wondering why it took so long..

To CAAO, Ranchomesa, Abhijith, and DallasJeeper.. I'll be praying for you guys.. I really hope you'll receive it soon..

Thank GOD and to VJ members esp to Oct filers members for the word of encouragement and prayers...... just like KM 24, my husband finally received his biometric appt. KM 24 we are on the same timeline once again... my husband notice also on 11/3 and they mailed it on 11/18 it means that was after we called for service request... thats so annoying and slow....

We both are very happy.. our appt schedule for 12/3 at 10am.... we may try to walk in on Monday.... our appt in Pomona, wheres yours?

  6. No worries inky, I'm right there with you. Things were flying along and now it seem we hit this wall for EAD approval. But you know what, we haven't even hit the two week mark. And there was a holiday. So I am giving it until Friday before I really start to get anxious... Well more anxious than I already am. As soon as all of the late September filers are done its our turn! Woohoo!

Yea I want to call the MIL help line and say wtfx ! Should not be stuck in background checks! lol I think if nothing all week again I will call them next monday and ask why its stuck. - Basically it shouldnt be, all of his stuff is on file including fbi checks cus of his military and security.

Still no bio letter today :( Im so worry for my husband... its been over a month.... we called and the reps said she did a service request and the target date 12/16 OMG thats so long... a mos from today... does anybody ever exp this? how long do we have to wait after they sent service request :crying::crying:

Congratulation... Im reading your timeline and i didnt find that you have bio appt, did u have bio appt before receiving EAD? Im just curious... cuz im really worry for my husband... we applied early Oct and its been a month, we havent received bio appt letter nor EAD nor touched...thanks

  8. I REALLY hope you get it sorted out this week KM!! I know how frustrated you must feel! :(

HI Everyone... I am in the same timeline with KM 24 and at the same office in San Bernardino, CA and havent received the bio appt... so I called today and they did a service requet and the representative told me target date 12/16... :crying: OH MY GOSH thats so longg.... is it really gonna take that long????

KM 24 did you call yet... please update if you did call, but i also read on puccagaru that u received appt in a week.. i hope thats what is going to happen.... im really frustrated and down....

  9. Called the USCIS customer service number today. As reported in previous posts, the only way to get a live person is to choose the selection that you want to change your address (should be #3 from the main menu). When they finally come on and ask you if you want to change your address, tell them "no," that you want to inquire about a biometrics appointment that is late in arriving. They were very polite and helpful.

They took down all of our information and initiated a "service request" to get our biometrics appointment sent. That's all there was to it. Now we'll wait and see if it arrives shortly. My wife is taking off to Russia soon for a visit to family (utilizing her AP of course), so we're hoping her appointment doesn't arrive then.

Called the USCIS today and got service request done and the representative said the target date is 12/16? thats so long.... What did they tell you Gage? KM 24 did you call? Im so frustrated... it means everything will be push back including the EAD and AP :crying: :crying:

  10. Ranchomesa... Yes, you can call the 1-800 number and there is live person where you can talk to. I'll be updating you next week. Let's just pray that everything will be fine. Are you in SoCal? Where is your local USCIS office? Mine is in San Bernardino.

Km 24, we live in Southern Calif and we are in san bernardino county so i think we will be in san bernardino county office... i may try to call, will keep you update also... really anxious... at least i know we are in the same boat for this journey... well be praying

Argh! This thing is killing me. Still no bio letter. Been a month now! And we'll be moving to our new home soon. :crying: :crying: :crying:

KM 24, i know how u feel... we both still waiting too... we checked the mail..to no bio letter and its been a month. I called yesterday and they told me to wait for another 2 weeks... what the heck... we both are very frustrated... I think I am gonna call monday and ask re: service request. I read in the forum, someone called and asking for service request and got the appt in 1 week... i wonder is it because we are going through the San Bernardino office? I am really frustrated and worry for my husband :(

  11. Is this walk in biometrics only available in Alexandria, VA? I filed AOS for my fiancee early October and we only received NOA 1, we havent gotten appt letter for biometric. How long does it take to receive the appt? If we can do walk in biometric without appt is that possible? thanks for the info and help

My husband didnt recieve his biometrics so after almost two months I posted a question on here and was told to call the customer support number 1-800-375-5283 and put a service request in. With in a week of doing this we recieved a letter in the mail stating we had missed our biometrics appointment already. So thats why I found the office and did a walk in so I can get back on track as our case was then put in suspense. (it is now out of suspense) So if it has been over 30 days I reccomend that you do the same and put a service request in.

thanks Meghan for the tip, Im going to ask service request.... im gonna try again to call because i called yesterday, the officer told me that I have to wait, he couldnt do anything... not helpful at all

  12. Don't worry. Look at my timeline!Who told you that the bio appointment letter comes within a month?

The processing times for EAD is 3 months.

Actually, the USCIS website says that biometrics appointment should come within 30 days after they receive package, often within 14 days. EAD is completely different, and can take as long as 3 months.

Hi guys... anyway... no bio appt yet still in the mail today, so I tried to call the INS and press 3 for change of address. I was able to talk to a live person, he was nice but not helpful at all. He told me that its not a month yet and yes it is usually takes about 30 days but sometimes it will take more than 30 days due to there are many people ahead of us (what the heck) I was going to tell him that I know people that applied later than us already received bio letter :( anyway he told us that if we dont get it by 2 wks, we can call back. I read in this forum asking to fax the appt, he said he couldnt do that :( so confused... perhaps i didnt ask the right question....

any suggestion? KM 24 have u called or any luck?

    thanks you guys...

thank you for the update... we are going to try to call and will let you know... please keep us update how it goes or whenu receive the appt letter... thanks and good luck

  14. I thought biometrics was necessary to get Advanced Parole. Am I wrong?

Apparently that's incorrect, because we received our advanced parole paperwork a while ago and still have no biometrics appointment. But then again, people told me the EAD should arrive with the AP, so maybe USCIS is all screwed up.

Have you called? We filed in early Oct and we havent gotten the bio nor EAD nor the AP. Please update if you call and let us know the answer. What number do u call for the live person in INS

  15. Ranchomesa... Yes, you can call the 1-800 number and there is live person where you can talk to. I'll be updating you next week. Let's just pray that everything will be fine. Are you in SoCal? Where is your local USCIS office? Mine is in San Bernardino.

  16. Don't worry KM...we are still waiting too...

This thing really drives me crazy! I'm so disturbed! Let's see and wait for next week..

Hi KM 24, we have the same timeline. I am like you... I am so worry for my husband. Its going to be a month this Friday, i read about calling? can you please let me know or update me if you hear anything? is there different bio appt for I485 or I765

  17. KM 24 my husband NOA date is Oct 14 also same like yours. I was thinking the same thing, if we dont get anything maybe we may call INS but does the 1800 number has a live person? well his application has not even update like yours, in the internet its still say Oct 15 :( a lot of people ahead of us already got their bio... im really anxious for my husband...

  19. I dont know how to add the timeline.. can you please guide me. We have the same timeline like both of you, still waiting for biometric appt :( i see a lot of people already got theirs for October filers. We dont even get a letter stating our case has been transfer, i wonder if we should call the INS....

Welcome ranchomesa. I added you to the spreadsheet (see link below to access the spreadsheet). One additional question, did you file the I693 with your AOS package? You have an almost identical timeline to km24. Not all cases are transfered to CSC. So far, less than 25% of our October filers.

@ simbafuzz, rpt1020 congrats on the EAD and AP. First in the group. We should start seeing a flood of approvals now. :dancing:

@ monicaolivo I'm holding off entering your EAD date in the spreadsheet since you haven't had the bio yet. If you get it in the mail, let us know.

What is I-693? is that the medical exam? We didnt send it since my husband already did his exam before he entered US with the K-1 visa. The US embassy told us its not necessary to do I-693. So far, we havent received any RFEs, do u think that might be the problem? thanks Greg. I dont know how to show my timeline... hope to get his Bio appt soon or the EAD cuz the DMV only gave the DL till Dec 4 thats when his I94 expired. If the I94 expired is that mean hes not legal anymore... so confusing.... :(

  20. Hello Ranchomesa.. Can you please update your timeline under the signature part?! Can you put the dates when you sent, receive NOA's and everything so that Greg can also add you in the October Filers Spreadsheet.. Thanks!

I received the Bio letter today's evening! ( Today mail man was so late!!)

It took for a month after received Noa!! My appointment date is 11/24 @ 2pm.

And, Greg, i was wrong about the local office, my office is Fort Worth,,,

YAY Nikki! Good thing you already received your bio letter.. I'm still waiting for my bio..

I dont know how to add the timeline.. can you please guide me. We have the same timeline like both of you, still waiting for biometric appt :( i see a lot of people already got theirs for October filers. We dont even get a letter stating our case has been transfer, i wonder if we should call the INS....

  21. I am joining the October 2009 filers of AOS. I just mailed the packet this morning to USCIS. Let's all hope for a speedy process

    [/quo

Does the INS will notify if your case has been transferred? Ive been checking online, but no sign of being touched or being transferred to California Service Center. We live in California. We filed in early October. We only received NOA 1, can we do walk in biometric appt in California? anybody knows? should we worry that we havent received anything?
