  1. I got an RFE (by calling NVC & speaking with the operator).

Operator let me know that I needed to send in the ORIGINALS of my husbands birth certificate, police clearance and our marriage license. I nearly had a fit!!!

But, I guess we can always get copies. DAG NABBIT!!!!!!!!

What more do these people WANT! Arrrrrg.

For every bit of instruction I find, I can always find conflicting instructions.

    http://travel.state.gov/pdf/not_applying_in.pdf

Please obtain the original documents or certified copies from an appropriate

authority (the issuing entity) for yourself and each family member who will

accompany you to the United States. All documents that pertain to your

petition are required, even if they were previously submitted to the CIS with

    your petition.

Note: Do not send any of the documents in this section to the National Visa

Center. You must submit them at the time of your immigrant visa interview.

  4. Its like the worst kind of waiting. I want to put my foot down but no place to put it. I would be willing kiss asses but there are no asses to kiss. I would fight somebody and curse them but there is nobody to fight or curse at. I would try to bribe somebody, but theres nobody to bribe. Nothing to do but wait and wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I'm finished venting now.

  5. Peace,

This is a question that developed as a result of reading other threads that have been posted about NVC or USCIS loosing documents.

Here is a quote from the last such post:

Well, I always make sure, I put the correct adress, t I know they get the documents because they send me a letter saying they recieved, but there LWAYS mising one, for example in one package they requested a birth certhifice and a marriage certificathe, I am 100%sure I sent both, but they say they only recieved one of then, or they come to contact me telling to send something that they already have, this is frustraring, this long wait, we will have the second anniversary soon from the petition was made.

    ^Agravating^

I made a video recording of myself placing all my documents in the envelope and sealing it when I sent my I-130. I wasn't instructed to do this but thought it seemed like a good idea. I may repeat this when I send documents to the NVC.

I thought this might might be helpful if the receiver of this material clams I've come up short; when in fact I haven't.

But if such a problem arises and Im unable to speak to somebody in person it might be all for naught, unless a lawyer gets involved and thinks he/ she can use this somehow.

    Any thoughts?

  6. If you believe in the Holy Bible you may wish to cut pork out of your diet as well and have done with it.

Deuteronomy chapter 14 verse 8 says:

And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you: ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcase.

Sorry...the topic is probably making you feel like that smiley!!

Okay....so it is about 55 minutes until Friday....and thought I would begin a topic of conversation about ... PORK!

    Yes, that is correct:

This little piggy went to market.....

There once were 3 little pigs.....

So tonight my husband asked something of me. Keep in mind, he has only asked 2 other things...both being very important to him: 1) I not drink alcoholic beverages (so now I just smell them..LOL) and 2) I do not swim in a public pool where men would be at.

Now #3...please do not eat pork anymore, or at the VERY least do not cook it in the house. I asked for an explanation and this is what I got:

    1. It is in the Qoran

    2. It is against his culture

    3. Pigs eat bad things

    4. When he thinks of me and the kids eating it, it makes him feel "far" from us

Okay, so I somewhat understand it, but my brain works like this....I NEED DETAIL; I do not do well with vague.

In the last year, I have already cut our pork consumption down by 80%... I have been substituting turkey for SOOO many things (turkey bacon, turkey ham, etc....). OH did I mention I am half Spanish?? I was basically raised teething on a Pork Chop bone! Seriously! We use pork as our main meat. By 7 I was making tortillas, Green Chili and Beans! I can quite honestly have no problem with not cooking it anymore...but giving up Green Chili ( I tried using beef...not even close!)?? I just do not know guys!

This is silly right?? That I am even asking this??

So...my question is this: Why is Pork such taboo in Islam and as a person from Arabic descent? Again, NEED details ... in order to get it around my brain.

    Thank You!!

  7. I don't think it's unreasonable to discuss WHY the consulate might give more scrutiny to couples that marry on the first trip. I think you will find here that there is a good deal of experience, not only with the visa process and the ins and outs of specific consulates, but also with what happens after immigrating. It's nothing new here that advice based on such experience is unwanted, but I stand by the belief that it serves a very good purpose. I think many in this forum will attest to that.

If you don't feel someone's opinion is applicable to you, the beauty of a message board is that you can ignore it. It might help someone else. :)

and your to this problem is solution is......?

I thought we have made it clear. Yes, it is frowned upon, and recommended you visit him more than once. Doesn't it seem obvious, I mean its common sense imo. But you seem like you want to get married when you meet him, so do it. Like I said, some people get the visa having only met once. Maybe you'll be lucky too!

If you don't want opinions from people, don't post on a public board!

I think we need solutions rather than opinions. What do you offer as a soultion?

  8. i filed in july and i then filed th ei-129f in aug and requested an expedite and they transferred the i-129f to the local office in los angeles on sep 19th and no word from them ever since. i called the congress office today and i spoked to a very very very rude lady , she was complaining and complaining and then she said ,when are we going to stop recieve calls from you guys, why can't you wait ?? and i said that i need surgerys and i can't wait anymore, and then she said that she doesn't care and she wont call and ask for me and for me to call after 6 months?????????? :( i just dont know what to do anymore, it has been little over three months and we been away from each other for two years now :( they deny our first i-130 because they lost half of my documents at the local office and then they start charging us $355 and the process is still the same ,infact its getting worse , i wish i can do something about it ,i guess we just have to wait and deal with it alone without any help :(

It's been my repeated experience that some people become embolden over the phone but face to face they squirm and wiggle. Is there any way you can put in a physical appearance?

I'm fortunate my congressman's office is a short drive from my home if I ever need to pay them a visit in the future.

  9. If this projection is right my wife should be here in the spring. I was worried about her because she is coming from a hot tropical climate and the winter here might make her sick. She has never touched snow or walked on ice. Thought maybe I'd put a snowball down her blouse at some point in time. I would rather see her get used to the cold weather gradually.

    Hello all

VSC finally updated the processing dates and honestly i was surprise to see that they are upto feb26, 2008. Looking at their progress in past couple of months this is actually really good news. I am a late march filer, so i hope my time for approval is soon. Goodluck to all who has been patiently waiting for aprovals..............:)

  10. 5 months on the 7 of October. We talk everyday on line text each other, mail each other.

I stay busy. I'm working some crazy overtime hours because we will need the extra money. I'm learning her language in the event I should have to move to be with her.

The way I look at it its short term pain being apart with a lifetime of reward at the end when we are united. Sometimes I get angry and discouraged but to discontinue this process is unthinkable. If you are like me, you cant turn back. Its out of my control. I cant un-love my wife. Thats the nature of love I guess. We don't control it.

I want to know how long it has been for everyone to be separated from their spouses. This whole process is rediculous of making us be separate for so long. I have been apart from my husband now for 4 months and do not know when I will go back to Morocco. How is everyone else dealing and coping?

    :bonk:

  11. I have thought about this too.

Because Jews can move to Israel because of ethnicity, it would seem only fitting that I should have the God given right to move to the UK with immediate and unfettered rights of full citizenship......because I'm English.

You really need to provide very strong ties to the Uk to be considered for immigration.
  12. Seems to me "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

Even if there is a simple and easy process to appeal, nobody can claim it will be all that fast. Its takes 10 months just to reach the interview stage. Would it take another 10 months to appeal? I think it might.

How would it be possible for a visa to be denied for no reason? In some countries, there is tension and fighting between ethnic groups. My wife's country is not an exception. If my wife is interviewed by a member of a rival ethnic group it could be denied out of spite in a New York minute.

I was thinking we'd be a heluva lot better off if I could hire an attorney to be present during my wife's consulate interview. Not to coach my wife in any way but to be sure the person doing the interview plays according to Hoyle.

According to the attorney I contacted and attempted to hire, its not possible for an attorney to be present during the interview so I'm searching for another option.

    Any ideas?
