She has discovered some comfort in sucking in her lower lip over her gums. siguro makati yung gums nya. Lalo tuloy lumalaki pisngi nya kasi parang nakatago yung mouth nya when she does that. And I've discovered why she seems to choke on the grainy turkey --- madaldal kasi  Habang sumusubo ng pagkain e sinasamahan ng daldal. Ayan tuloy, deretso sa lalamunan yung food. Fed her the rest of the turkey tonight. As always, daldal na naman sya. I'd interrupt her and she would stop and listen to me with her mouth open whereupon isusbo ko yung food nya at kakausapin sya and she just listens and begins to chew her food :)

  2. pink - we hired a lawyer for a total of $1250, plus around $400 for the Child Services home study and court fees. Now that we are nearing the end, we learned from the probate court that pwede naman pala na kami na lang ang lalakad ng adoption with no need for a lawyer. At the most, notary public lang kelangan namin. Could've spent just around $800 for everything  Tapos, itong lawyer na humahawak sa kaso namin e trial lawyer pala and had no idea how to go about the adoption process. :bonk: syempre na-hire na namin sya at nabayaran na yung ibang fees nya nung malaman namin. If we had done it ourselves, malamang last year natapos na yung adoption ni Alec. There is just a lot of paperwork, tapos kelangan i-publish sa press na may ongoing petition for adoption. We paid $200 for that (published for 3 weeks). Bale tapos na lahat ng bayaran. soon as we get a certified copy of her new birth certificate, pwede na kami dumeretso sa Social Security to have her name changed on her SSN.

Nature's goodness is the cheapest baby food, too! :)

Cute naman ni Zac...maski walang buhok  Maizy doesn't want to walk much in her walker. Kung maglakad man sya, patalikod  But hold her by both hands and she will walk, much to her father's delight. She spends some time in her exersaucer standing. Pag pagod na sya, she jsut sits and lazily spins one of the toys with one hand or just taps it with matching sigh. Minsan, I was in the kitchen and she was in the living room, nahuli kong nakatulog na nakasandal yung noo sa braso nya. Poor baby. At least, di umiyak like she usually does. LIke Zac, she can sit with her arms outstretched and her hands supprting her weight for a few minutes. I think that started around a week or so ago when I started sitting her up to change her clothes. naku...malapit na palang maitago yung bouncer nya and her bumbo  Once she sits up on her own, will start feeding her sa highchair nya.

RR - about the yard sale stuff...syempre from our fave store :D Of course, some items we got for free :)

We are sponsoring my mom's visa fee. She just got her new passport the other day so that she can now go to BDO to pay for her visa. My brother is sponsoring her plane ticket. Sabay sila dadating dito early November. An aunt and uncle of mine are flying in, too, around that same time in time for my stateside uncle and aunt's golden anniversary. Syempre, dito na mag-thanksgiving, pasko and new year. first time nya makakasama si Maizy, who'll probably be running around or walking by then. Don't know yet how long she will be staying...heck, she can stay the entire 6 months that she is alloted

School's out...alec is home...thankfully. Mas makakakilos na ako...at least for the next 2.75 months

Si Zac had his shots yester. Nakadalawang turok cya. I also received letter from Medicaid na na mawawalan na ako ng Emergency Medicaid this end of June. Pero anyway, eto naghahanap kami ng insurance for me. I already expected naman na talgang mawawala na Medicaid ko pero I am very thankful and blessed at nakalusot ako kaya hindi naman masama loob ko kung mawala na yung Medicaid ko.

    [/b][/color]

Si Maizy ayaw din ng meats nun but now sige sya. She has no preference for foods although I find that she finishes all fruit adn veggies with the exception of peas and peaches which takes her a while to finish. She practically gobbles up the rice or oatmeal cereal that goes with it. I give her meats at lunchtime. I only give her beef or turkey kasi nag-rashes sya with chicken. will try her on chicken again pag 6 months na sya. Finishing a 4oz bottle of baby food is nothing to her...takaw talaga

You can try Nature's Goodness' turkey in turkey brother. Is much less grainy than Beechnut's Turkey with turkey gravy. si Maizy, sa kamamadali nyang ubusin food nya, minsan nabilaukan sa Beechnut na turkey, but not with the beef. I give her milk with her food and not water. Saka ko na sya i-water when she's a little older. The water in her milk will keep her hydrated better than just water.

Went out yesterday to get Maizy's one-week WIC food supply. Found Beechnut Mango, Banana-Strawberry-Apple, Corn casserole, corn and sweet potatoes, mixed veggies and country mixed veggies. Also found banana-apple yogurt :) Gave her the mango --- she absolutely loves it! Lol...didn't know what 24 bottles of baby food looked like...was ridiculous  But it saved us $13+ dollars in baby food

As for re-certification, same requirements as when you first applied for WIC...your yellow card plus hubby's last paycheck, Zac's crib card or BC and immunization record (I think), plus Zac, of course. We have ours in July sometime.

RR - have you tried mixing his cereal with his fruits/veggies? Did that with Maizy's food noon. One spoon of cereal mixed with fruit/veggies alternate with just the plain fruit/veggie. ngayon, di ko na hinahalo but ina-alternate ko yung sinusubong pagkain. Cereals provide some 40% of daily iron requirements.

Maizy isn't fat, as you've seen in the pics, but mabigat sya...siksik sa laman. Yes, humahaba na hair nya which allowed me to put a plastic clip on her hair when we went to church :) Nga lang, mas manipis buhok nya than her Ate. she got Daddy's hair...pati yung pagkatirik ng buhok  Her favorite thing now, other than playing with her feet, is "talking" and making sounds similar to Spike the Gremlin  "Halloween voice" nga tawag ng daddy nya. She can roll over from front to back, and reaches for everything around her. Moved her into a bigger bath tub so she can sit up better and play in the water with some toys after she has been washed. she likes the idea of "hide the Maizy" which is basically getting her wrapped up in her towel while Mommy excitedly says that she'll "hide the Maizy". She likes Play with Me Sesame, Yo Gabba Gabba, and Dora. She is watching Spongebob now (which I don't like really) while seated in her rocking chair and squealing.

Having a yard sale Sun-Tues (uulan kasi ng sat)...a baby/toddler sale :D I have a pack n play, several booster seats, bed rails, riding toys, kids' desks, swings, highchairs, even diapers, baby bottles, diaper genies, baby/toddler toys, activity tables, wipe warmers, bottle/baby food jar warmers, sterilizers, breastfeeding accessories/nursing pads, a pack-n-play, a johnny jumper, bathtubs, infant support slings, some baby boy clothes, and of course, baby girl 0-3 months clothes :) And others pa. Whatever we get out of this sale, gagamitin ng mama ko as spending money pag dating nya dito in Nov. :) Is quite hectic preparing for the sale. hanggang ngayon, di pa ako tapos mag-inventory

  4. eve - can we apply for the report of birth online? parang nakakalula kasi mag-drive all the way to chicago just for that and then back.

We have decided to let the girls have dual citizenship. i will be doing the same. plano kasi namin to buy some property in tagaytay later on and we won't be able to do that anymore pag nag-US citizen lang kami. We're pretty excited kasi may adoption hearing kami july 23rd for alec. Our little big girl will become a USC :star: She will be issued a new birth certificate with Dada's name on it :star: She is excited as well. Kaya lang, medyo matatagalan daw yung actual birth certificate and a certified copy will have to do for her name changes for her SSN and school and passports. We all can't wait. :innocent:

RR - si maizy kasi lahat n mahawakan nya titingnan muna nya and after a few seconds, isusubo na. minsan may halong gigil yung pagsubo at pagngatngat nya. pag walag mahawakan, daliri, kamay, paa ang isusubo..even yung arm rest ng bumbo seat, di patatawad

  5. Maizy is now 5 months old  Sharing some pics... :)

    HPIM3252.jpgHPIM3285.jpgHPIM3268.jpgHPIM3290-1.jpgHPIM3294-2.jpgHPIM3277.jpg

She has discovered the joys of sucking her toes  She is quite temperamental sometimes, probably kasi nagngingipin, or so I think. medyo rounded na yung gums nya at the bottom and she finds comfort in biting on her fingers or her toys at nagaglit pag di nya ma-shoot sa bibig yung kung ano man ang hawak nya. Food...she eats fruits, veggies, and meat. Still needs formula after each feeding. Mas mahirap na pakainin kasi, other than blowing raspberries, pilit nya aabutin ang mga paa para isubo  Can turn from front to back...pag feel nya. She still dislikes tummy time but loves to sit. when i put her on her changing table, she starts flailing her legs around, wanting to sit up to reach the music toy that i put at the end for her to look at. she can prop herself up on her hands for about 20 seconds. she is liking Daddy now and doesn't cry as much pag iniiwan ko kay daddy nya. She wants Mommy around though, during our mealtime, and will butt in during a conversation with "words" of her own.

Time does fly too fast...I miss her "newborn-ness" na...

  6. i got two wic checks for baby food na with same dates ewan ko kung namali lang nung lady but next month we will get 4 cereals then 32 jars ng 4 oz baby food only vegetables and fruits

how about kay maizy doc gracey to they give baby food na meat?

when we went to wic to get my may-june checks, they gave us maizy's june checks na. since sa july may re-certification kami, saka nila ibibigay yung ibang checks nya. the june checks are for (per week) 16 jars of fruit/veggies, 8 jars of meats, and 2 boxes of cereals. bale for the entire month, that would be 64 jars of fruits/veggies, 32 jars of meats and 8 boxes of cereals.

  7. malaking tulong nga talaga yung wic...as of now 10 cans na binibigay nila sa amin pero next month 7 cans na lang kasi they will start giving us baby food.

since maizy is on baby food already, we had been buying her food for her. recently, i went on craigslist and got her 85 jars of baby food for 25 cents a jar...plus free na dagdag and 3 boxes of cereals (oatmeal and rice) I was sooooo happy. The lady i got it from said her son would not eat baby food and that those were WIC-obtained. Next month magagamit ko na yung WIC coupons ni maizy for baby food :) May re-certification kami in July...perhaps i will still tell them na nagb-breastfeeding pa ako??? I've been able to get free formula on craigslist, too, as well as low-priced ones (owners are getting rid of theirs kasi either natanggap nila sa mail and they don't have babies or overstock nila and their kids dont take formula anymore). I have about 7 cans sitting in my pantry right now :)

  8. oopinkoo "thank you sa reply.

nabasa ko yung profile mo from valenzuela city ka sa p.i? tama ba? kasi from obando bulacan ako familiar ka ba dun? or alam mo ba yung our lady of fatima univ sa valenzuela or hosp?

oo grabe yung pinagdaanan ko meron nagaadvise sken pede daw ako magdemanda within 40 days after the incident pumunta daw ako sa municipal county office at magask ng libreng law service firm, kaso sigurado daw dapat matiyaga ako.

wala na kasi kameng time 12 hours work na hubby ko, at wala naman ako makakasama pagpunta magisa at mahirap kasi may baby na.

haay iaaply ko na lang ulit sa internet kesa maghintay ako ng 60 days, kasi due na mga vaccines by july kung di pa maaprove magbabayad kame from ourn pocket.

nakakatawa nga CS ako then i had my first week check up after the cs operation ang mahal ng binayaran ko pero guess what sino naglinis ng incision ko "ako" kasi yung resident doc tiningnan nya lang yung incision site ko without taking off the gauze sabi nya everything's look good, ako pa nagsabi arent u gonna clean it? sbi nya hayaan mo na lang magfall sbi ko i want it to be cleanse, sbi nya i have so many patients im the only resident dr today. if u want feel free to do it by yourself, hayun ako naglinis ng tahi ko sa clinic" she said i will see you after 6 weeks.ginawa ko hinabol ko nagpaprescribe ako ng birth control pills. wala ng nga siyang turo turo. thank you na rin kahit pano nga may alam ako inaaply ko na lang sa sarili ko. naisip ko lang yung mga iba na patients na pinapabalik balik.

o sge thank you thank you syo!! at sa inyo

    have a good night everyone!!!

    talk to you all later...

    o sge,

    hi. first of all, congratulations!

Actually, that resident is one SOB, if you'll ask me. Was the same when I asked for an antibiotic for some cystitis and the darn resident-on-duty did not want to give me one because my freakin' dipstick urinalysis was negative for it. I had all the signs/symptoms plus 3 home dipstick tests (hubby swiped some from work :D )showed that i had an infection. I was in my first trimester then and the last thing i wanted was for the infection to reach my then unborn child. I was finally able to get a scrip from the on-call OB. I complained to my OB about that incident and she was puzzled, too, as to why they did not give in to my request.

Anyway, I am a 2-time CS and the first time, I cleaned the wound myself (was in the RP). this second time, I did not touch it at all. They took the gauze off after 48 hours and did not apply anything else on it, so that it was just some steri-strips on top of the incision (in addition to the subcutaneous sutures, of course). The strips they put WILL fall off and you need not clean it. You are allowed to bathe without having to cover the wound site and it is perfectly safe. Of course, you will need to inspect it for any discharge. Still, it was not good practice for him to treat you the way he did. A patient is a patient and should be treated accordingly, whether or not he has a roomful of other patients to see. Or he could've asked a med assistant to do it for him, if he could not. Poor patient care indeed!

About baby formula....you may want to apply for membership to Strongmoms.com ( i think, for similac) or Enfamil for formula samples and coupons. Vaccines...have you tried your local public health clinic? You may want to inquire there, too for possible free vaccines.

Speaking of which....I have some Similac coupons expiring in July...anybody want them? They are $5 off.

omg...talaga? are you sure you can handle a toddler and an infant at the same time? Zac will still be in diapers pag sinundan kaagad. I have a 7-year-old and a 5-month old and it isn't easy  ...what more if it was a toddler and a 5-month-old? but that is your prerogative :) Good luck to you both :)

Anemia or any cause can lead to stunted growth

Sinong me gusto? (Enfamil and Gerber good start)

as long as your diet has high-iron food in it, you're good to go. i breastfed maizy till she was 3 month old but i had to supplement with formula kasi she wasn't happy. i was on iron supplements kasi i had some post-partum bleeding and my hemoglobin plunged to 75. am still on them now....by choice as my hemoglobin is, more often than not, on the low side.

babies typically are born with enough iron stores to last them the first 4 months. At 4 months, these iron stores begin to fall and baby would then need supplemental iron, usually found in iron-fortified formula, baby cereal...and mommy's iron-fortified milk :) And, hence, my other reason for starting Maizy on baby cereal and baby food.

  11. My wife and my stepchild are supposed to be in Manila on June 4th for there interviews. I would like to get a idea on what kind of questions they are asking. I went over the Wiki search engine for some answers, and if they start asking some of the questions on that list, my wife is in trouble. There is no way she is going to remember my ex-wife's name, where I worked and did for a living, what my daughter's name is, ect.. I had a very nasty divorce right before my new wife got married, so there wasn't a lot of talk about my ex-wife. My wife's english is not very good, and I think she should probably ask for a interpeter to assist her so she can better understand the questions. She will not be able to answer questions like, how much child support I have to pay, alimony, ect..

Also, the only proof that we have for our marriage is the phone bills that I saved with here phone number on it, wedding photos, and all the Western Union receipts that I have saved for money that I sent to her. Also one more thing, how about a cenomar? Why would I need that if she is married? I have NSO copies of marriage certificates and birth certificates.

Do I have something to worry about here? Are they really going to be asking all these questions?

    thanks,

    martinbr

Hi. Hope this link helps...details of my interview.

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/166135-usem-interview-today-dec-9/page__hl__USEM%20Dec%209%20interview

I was trying to find th e list of documents that I had posted on here shortly before my interview, but I have forgotten what the exact title was. But, anyway, other proofs of your relationships would be bank accounts, wedding pictures and pictures of you together with your wife and pictures with your stepchild. Tell her to make a separate collection of photos of herself with her child, to prove that the child has been with her since birth. Telephone correspondences, cards/letters to each other, emails, chat logs...they asked all of these from me. How old is your child? the only question they asked my then 6-year-old daughter was her name, my name, and her now daddy's name. Frankly, the pre-screener is more brutal than the CO  , and they seem temperamental for some reason. You may want to give her the answers to the questions ont he WIKI search engine and have her go through them every single day prior to her interview. She can be asked anything.

About the CEMAR...your wife will be filling out the same form as the CENOMAR. We had submitted one with our papers but I requested my own copy to show the CO if asked for it.

    Goodluck to you all :)

  12. I wish there were something I could do to go into business for myself so that I could be home more after the baby comes.

    Brian in Tennessee

Such is the sacrifice that needs to be made t provide for the family. We wished the same but the most my hubby could do was maximize his PTO from work so that he was home for a month or so. He looks forward to the end of his shift so he can rush home and be with us :)

  13. just releasing some steam.....maizy is just SOOOO cranky today. she had a little fever yesterday till this morning and a runny nose. she's been without a fever for about 10 hrs now but she's still cranky. she still manages to eat her food though. kaya lang, super-cranky...di lang masubo yung toys nya, iyak kaagad with matching luha a.k.a. the REAL cry. Sigh.....

is getting hard to feed her the lasr couple of days kasi she's learned how to make "raspberries" (blow bubbles) with her saliva...she does it a lot during mealtime so that ayun...sends a shower of baby food all over her rocker, and all over herself in the process. but sige pa naman pagkain nya. somedays, she eats 3 meals a day, minsan twice.

hay salamat...nakatulog kakareklamo. hmm...you think i'd be able to finish making supper nang di sya umiiyak???

  14. Me and my husband will move to Cincinnati this coming June please send me a message if you or your Pinoy wife/husband live in Cincinnati Ohio.... I will be coming from Chicago and I do really wanted to know about the new city that I will move in and find out if we could meet...

I hope to hear from you guys...

am not from cincy but from 40-45 mins north in dayton :)

  15. Excited akong gumising kaninang umaga for Ethan's first swimming lesson. just wanna share a part of the video and pictures :)

Next saturday will be my turn to dip into the pool..hayyy iba talagang feeling pag mommy ka lahat nang ginagawa nang baby mo ay super happy ka...

    05_01_5.jpg05_01_7.jpg05_01_8.jpg05_01_9.jpg05_01_11.jpg

cute, cute naman ni ethan at ang gwapo :) looks like he's enjoying it...fun for him and fun for daddy and mommy :star: am hoping na mag-swim lessons din si maizy, at least before alec goes back to school. :innocent:

  16. Pink and RR - The goodwill we go to is an outlet kaya ang daming gamit na nakukuha namin dun :) we got her cradle swing there, her exersaucer, her bouncer, and her high chair. I haven't seen much of baby stuff at the other goodwills. The thrift store we go to has baby stuff, too. di nga lang mapapansin kaagad kasi they are up on shelves over the rows of clothing, although yung iba andun sa harap ng mga baby clothes. She has a doorway jumper, too that I have hanged momentarily down in the basement so that she has somewhere to be in while i do the laundry. It is a Graco one with a tray in front so I can put some suction-based toys on it for her to play with. Once Upon A child has these things, too, kaya lang mas mahal kesa sa goodwill. The Rainforest Jumperoo costs about $65-70 dun and the Exersaucer is about $25-35. Sayang nga yung isang exersaucer na nakuha namin...the seat rotates just like a regular exersaucer but it moves sidewards, too, and yung "floor" nya is a keyboard so that may sounds habang tinatapakn ng bata. We got it at goodwill for $5 and sold it to Once-Upon-A-Child for $25. They, in turn, sold it for $45 and it sold the next day. But I am happy with the one Maizy has kasi it stores easily. We got other baby stuff as well as little tikes stuff at goodwill which we will sell at a yard sale in the next few weeks :D

RR - Tisay na tisay si maizy. Everybody who sees her all say that they love her hair kasi dark. Ewan kung magbabago yung kulay. But she does have her Daddy's complexion and has rosy cheeks all the time. Her fingertips and toes are pinkishshe has my eyes, just like her sister, kaya lang may pagkapungay yung mga mata nya. And her eyes are brown, like her (paternal) grandma's.

  17. Pink and RR - This is Maizy in her exersaucer. This is all hard plastic so that kahit magkaipin na sya she won't be accidentally chewing paint off. The legs are adjustable and can fold for storage. It can either be stationary or you can fold down the little tripod legs (under the red base) to make it a little more "movable" (side to side lang...help develop balance). Missing from the exersaucer is a king-and-queen toy...i took it off to change the batteries in it. This is a Magic Castle (or is it prince and princess?) themed exersaucer. $3.00 at goodwill

    HPIM3240.jpgHPIM3060.jpgHPIM3070.jpg

  18. i bet when maizy grow up she will be adorable... tiningnan ko ulit pic nya and parang you got two different babies sa picture kasi yung isa is maamo yung mukha and yung isa naman was so jolly... hehehehehe...

tanong lang... yung cradle cup ba yun ba yung parang dandruff na nakadikit sa scalp ng ulo ng baby? im just curious lang kasi kung is it the same thing my baby had before...

Maamo???? She's got an attitude that she can show at the right moment! may pagkapilya ba. yes, they are entirely 2 different babies :)

cradle cap...yup, is basically the baby form of adult dandruff.

first time mo bang uuwi sa pinas eve? anong feeling mo? maninibago ka kaya or parang wala lang sayo?

well, kakulay nya si daddy niya, as in same skin tone :)

  20. Lykatodd - thank you! But they are both very charismatic and never fail to draw attention pag nasa labas kami.

Yung hair nya dun sa pic sa laundry basket, ganun yung natural nya...nakatirik  I put baby oil on the top of her head for both her cradle cap and to tame her hair a bit  She has brown eyes and medyo nagli-light nang kaunti yung hair nya. Her cheeks are naturally rosy, lalo na pag mainit.

Pink - check-up ni Maizy sa wednesday, plus the 2nd round ng vaccines. She is now on full serving ng cereal (4 tbsp plus 2 oz of milk mixed in) and finishes a bottle of fruit at breakfast (now eating peaches) and about half a bottle of fruit and half a bottle of veggies (now eating butternut squash which she SO loves!) with full serving of cereal for supper. di ko pa pinapakain ng 3 times a day kasi mga 9:30 sya nagb-breakfast tapos may naptime sya ng mga 11am-1pm. She has 4oz of milk after breakfast, sometimes 6 (as if di pa nabusog sa breakfast nya, di ba?) then 6oz after her nap, another 4 oz about 2 hours before her supper, 4 oz after supper, then 6 oz of bedtime formula. She has another 6 oz of bedtime formula around 5am. She is really heavy and takes much effort to lift her carrier from the front door to the car. She does not like the pacifier, minsan lang nagamit. The last time she took it was like a month or so ago. Pag antok na sya sa gabi and she has finished feeding, yun ang binibigay ko kasi baka sumuka (she has done so nung dinagdagan ko yung formula nya). I bathe her in a fold-away tub...big space saver. I put a foam pad under her pag sponge bath lang which is about every other day, depending on the weather. I wash her hair every other day or depending on the weather. Yung cradle cap nya di na ganun kagrabe. I put Gentle Naturals Cradle cap care on her scalp an hour or so before her bath, then wash it with Hammamelis shampoo with witch hazel (not sure of the name) by Kocher. Has been effective naman so that the really scaly spots na lang are in the areas nearest her anterior fontanel (soft spot on her head). there is some dryness on her forehead that I put baby lotion on everyday...has been instantly effective, too :)

She now spends about 15-20 mins in her exersaucer and likes playing rough. SAbi nga ng nanay ko baka boy si Maizy  She can't really roll over yet (lol...parang aso) but when i put her on ther tummy, she can push with one hand and roll onto her back :) She should be able to roll onto her tummy in this month, at which time she really needs to sleep in her crib and not in the bassinet anymore. She is drooling a lot and mouths everything she gets her little hands on with much gusto. She is enjoying the toys on her exersaucer and is able to manipulate most of them. And I just LOVE it when she reaches out to grab my face :)

Eve - I would recomment the Pampers baby dry sa Pinas. Worked the best for Alec, and is most economically effective than most brands there. You may like Drypers, too. I think I used Huggies Overnites for the night time.

JImifibi - well, congratulations! Enjoy the ride! :)

Shiela - try Orajel to ease his gum pain. you may want to start baby foods, too, and get him a teether na may tubig sa loob which you can put in the fridge para malamig sa bibig nya.

But since di ko pa pwedeng gamitin yung mga wic coupon, yung Nature's goodness na muna which is 36 cents a bottle :) But yung rice, beech nut.

di ko sinusukat yung milk na hinahalo ko. basta pag malapot na parang lutong oatmeal na`sya, yun na...well, a little more malabnaw than that.
