Hey guys, I have a question regarding the I-864.

I have been away from the Visa Journey community for about an year now since my wife and I got back together. But since one of my close friends is going trough the same process I am back. He wants me to become a Joint sponsor on his application since his wife is lacking the income, but before I go ahead and sign I want to find out: to what extend am I liable?

Am I legally obligated with his debt and or .....

To make it short he has an outstanding $35K medical bill, is my credit in jeopardy if I agree to do it?

I didn't get an interview and I have to wait until next month

I'm crying with you. I completed Feb 13 and definitely no April interview for us either. May will be our month!

I am sorry to hear that. But why??? Feb 13 was a while back you should've been scheduled for April.

Does anyone know what it takes for them to approve an expedite request?

I got my case completed last week and was hoping that I will get an interview scheduled, but I called NVC today and they said NO wait until next month.

So I asked for a supervisor and she told me that I can email her my request for expedite processing and they will contact the embassy to find out if it is possible.

Has anyone done it before, do you know what I need to include in the email.

What is your status? Are you married? If you are married you could mention how long you have been seperated.

And to expedite would greatly be appreciated.

Yah I am married and sure I will include that but will they even care. I am wondering if there is something else I need to include.

payments are done, we printed the cover sheets, a final check to the 2 packages and probably send them on monday

Everyone is moving along....I can't get our DS-3032 accepted yet so our IV bill still shows as "Not Invoiced"

At leaset I can send in the I-864 package because I already paid the $70 AOS fee...right?

I recieved the reply for my ds3032, it is accepted and my husband paid IV fee bill, now we have to work on the packages to send them hopefully on saturday or monday, i'm so scared of RFEs

Don't wait the AVR to update it is not reliable my case is completed already and AVR message is still saying that they just received my DS-3023. Call them don't be shy I do it every day (sometimes more than once per day)

I made the mistake and it created a huge mix up. They took the money but their system didn't update it. So it took me 2 weeks and about 3-4 supervisors until it got fixed today finally. Our case is now complete :dance: we are going to wait for an interview now.

Start calling them to make sure the have received the payments. If I didn't call I would still be waiting for something to happen. Wait 2-3 days and call the to check on it. You might be luckier than me and not have the same problem.

when we sent our DS-3032, it took over a week to receive a response to the E-mail. I think it was8 or 9 days. Feb. 3rd sent , received reply on the 11th.

That is why I mailed it overnight and it got updated in 2 days.

my ds-3032 was generated last week, but some how the automated voice message didnt say that,but i finally got to know it last night and i emailed the ds-3032 right away. now waiting on the bills. i havent filed for taxes this year yet, waiting for my w2 to come. i have a problem. last year when i filed taxes, i filed them as single, because when i told them my husband didnt have ssn they said that i have to file single. but wont it make a problem now???

I cannot believe it will be a problem. The purpose for the tax returns is to show you have the ability to support him. Even not having this year's taxes complete should not be a problem, especially if you provide several past year's tax returns. I plan to include 05 - 07 and not worry about 2008 since I have not filed them yet ( I usually do an extension anyway!).

I was talking to an operator ones and she told me that I don't have to send 2008 taxes since they are not due until April. If I was you I would call them and ask, but I am pretty sure that you don't need 2008. Good luck

What are they talking about?!?!?!?!?!?! They took the money now they say they don't have it. So I asked to talk to a supervisor and she told me that she will take care of it and to call on Monday to check again, but she also told me that this will take up to 15 days to be resolved. Anyone else out there had this experience before?

I had samething happend to me with my IV fee. They took the money from my bank but on there system it was not showing as paid. For some reason they have two system that should received the fee we pay online,but usually problem like this occurs is because there one system shows fee as paid and others not, so dont panic your problem will be solved within couple of days.

The bank is in St Louis and the NVC is in NH. It takes a few days for the fee to show up - relax. Zillions of people are paying in every day. Your fee will show up next week. it just takes a few days.

If you paid the AOS and IV at the same time I assume you are using an attorney, because only AOR's get both bills at the same time. Keep an eye on your lawyer - they like to drag their feet. They'll tell you they paid, but my experience is that the lawyers lie.

Thanks for the good words, I was really freaking out. As far as the lawyer and all I don't have one, I am doing it myself. I paid both AOS and IV at the same time because I sent DS-3032 overnight in the mail and they entered it in the system the following day and by the time I got my IIN the IV fee was already invoiced.

EM40, your timeline doesn't make much sence? as far as I know we aren't on christmas eve 2009!!!!
