  1. Hi everyone... I'm on the November list and we also got an RFE!! There were a lot, eh? Anyway... just wanted to let you all know, we sent in the RFE info about 3 weeks or less ago and I found out yesterday that I was approved! Which is great.

Another thing? If you send in your stuff and call the NCIS, they are NOT going to know if it was received or not -- it's very annoying.

So yepper, done and done with this round and good luck to everyone else.

    Best,

    LGG

  2. Hello fellow Canucks!

Hey everyone! Just to let you know, I got my approval letter today. Sent in the RFE 3 weeks ago. What's odd? I was starting to get nervous as the due date for the RFE was coming due. I called them 3 times to see if they could tell me they'd received the RFE package. The could not tell me anything. The last update was from November 2011 when I first sent the ROC. Package. I was freaking as I'd lost my postal notice. I came home abd my husband handed me the letter. I was thrilled when I opened it. Nice timing, eh? I was worried.

So... That's that. Good luck everyone! The RFE wasn't so bad

  4. Hi there,

it was because we moved, sent them a change of address and they want to see documents proving that we are still jointly domiciled. But yes, thanks for that! Should I place the ORIGINAL blue cover sheet or will a copy of it suffice? I am also sending them copies of all our docs unless there is evidence that they want the originals.

Thanks so much for your input And yes, I plan on sending the package priority courier too.

    What was the RFE for?

When responding to a Request for Evidence it is extremely important that you place the blue coversheet on the top of the response you send to them. The VSC receives thousands of pieces of correspondence each day, if the blue coversheet is not on the top of the response it will be placed in "general" correspondence and NOT sorted as a priority, which may delay your case.

I also did priority mail with tracking for around $2.40 and everything was delivered quickly. Don't do signiture required.

  5. Hi there...

Can you all help me and tell me how you prepared your RFE? I have all the the tax records for the time we've been married, copies of our Mortgage papers, tax papers for that property adn a copy of the joint bank account we share. I plan on sending copies of all these things, the blue cover sheets, copies of my GC and my PP as well as a letter and a list of all the things that I'm sending.

How does this sound? Any one who was successful, how did you prepare your RFE package?

    Thanks so much,

    LGG

  6. Yay! I'm just waiting for our tax transcripts to arrive to mail off our package. I am using the HUD portion of our mortgage, the tax breakdown of the new property and what else? couple of other things. i hope that's okay, i would really LOVE to be done with all this jazz.

Sorry to hear about your RFE, SDW... it sucks, eh? Let me know if you have any questions or whatever, we can keep each other posted.

    :)

    Hi Huggles !

    ~waves~

    HELLO!!!!

I have GREAT news! Last Tuesday, we got a letter approving my 10-year green card. The letter was dated September 7, 2012. We should receive my green card within 60 days :)

    WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. OH wow, thanks! Had not even thought of that at all!

That's great advice. Yeah, it's a HUGE pain in the butt -- I cannot wait to get all this done and naturalize and not have to worry about all this flurry of gather documents and such ever again. Seriously -- this is getting old...

    I'm doing good, thanks!

You didn't mention whether or not your husband filed a Change of Sponsor Address as well. That's a separate form that you might want to make sure you send in.

  8. Hi kimbear!

Thanks so much, it's what I'll use! :)

    Hi lgg!

Congrats on the house and the new pupper!

Use the Hud. Its what the bank uses to make your mortgage statement anyway and its what gets sent in to the county for taxes etc. Everything is based on it.

I'd send the assessment and statement as well. But you know me, ever since the k1 i've gone overboard with info! lol.

  9. Hi everyone! Hi Wyatt!! I'm not worried about the RFE, they are asking us to prove that we still live together. Makes sense to me. The document asks us for a copy of a lease or mortgage documents. We changed our address midway so I assume they're ensuring we are still a couple.

I just need to know if we are sending the right mortgage document. :)

    Thank you!

    How's things with you Wyatt?

  10. Hello lovely Canucks!

Just popping by to say that we moved, we bought a house and of course, got an RFE regarding my removal of conditions. Not too surprising, really as they need to know that we're still living together/together. Just wondering, which part of our mortgage docs should I send? I was going to copy the big HUD part, it seems to say all we need to say. Plus I was going to send a copy of the new tax assessment for that property as well as a copy of the mortgage statement that we get each month.

What say you oh wise VJers?

Hope everyone is doing well and is happy and such. We also got a dog! Her name is Maddie and she's a mutt, half black lab and half black shepherd -- I love her.

    Hi everyone...

  11. Hi there...

We bought a house and thus, have moved and I changed my address with USCIS and of course they RFE'd us w hich makes sense. So, I'm just wondering... what from our mortgage package should I send? I have the HUD docs that show the transfer of the new house and such and I have the tax assessment bill and as well, a copy of the bill we're sent from our mortgage company to pay our mortgage... Do you all think that this is the right documentation? it's hard to figure out which document they want, I figure as long as it shows a loan, a purchase agreement and the address, we'll be fine?

If any knows anything else or can add, that would be lovely. I don't want to send them the whole entire mortgage package as that seems stupid to me.

Thanks everyone for your help. HOpe your journey's are going well.

    LGG

  12. Yep, this is my fear. And since they're going to be SO ignorant as to how this process works, they're not even going to even realize that the actual buying of the house is the most bonified way really for the USCIS to assess the validity of a marriage. So, i'm expecting some issue as no one who has not gone through immigration knows what most things mean. So, I'm just waiting for all the hassle to come raining down.

    YaY!

As many times as I have dealt with mortgage companies, they are for some weird stuff just before closing escrow, and funding the loan. You have to hope the extension letter will work, with the explanation that you don't see any reason why your ROC won't be approved. However, you just never know what they may decide until the loan is funded.

My first mortgage, they cut the check with my nickname as my first name, instead of my legal one. The escrow company, my agent, and I, decided in was easier to conform all the other documents to the check and loan papers, then go back to the loan company and get another check. It was the last day of escrow, and this was after having the mortgage company try and change the loan terms within a few days of closing. It took threats of a lawsuit from two real estate companies, the escrow company, the seller and me, just to get that check. What a pain!

  14. I dunno, but to me, it makes sense that they would ask -- I was shocked that that was not one of the first things that they asked, actually. It's just that we are thisclose to finishing with all this loan stuff and THEN they're like, oh by the way....

But yes it makes sense that they'd want it. I just want to make sure that they're happy with that and my letter of extension. Like I said, I just wish the GC would get here -- it's been almost 6 months and I've had the biotmetrics done and everything.

    Thanks to all who answer.

    :)

  15. Hi everyone! Thanks for your response with my query as to why this was taking so long. I have another question -- we are in the process of purchasing a house and we have sent in all my removal of conditions forms, they were sent in 5 months ago. So now... I have my expired green card and my letter of extension. Our loan is JUST coming out of underwriting and in QC and they have finally asked for a copy of my GC. I was wondering as to why they had not right at the start. Anyway... is a copy of my GC and a copy of my extension letter going to be okay, do you think? anyone else have to go through this?

Any other stories would be appreciated -- just wish my CG would get here already. So long and now that we're buying a house, we have even MORE evidence of a bonified marriage. Thanks a lot, everyone

  16. It, so far, is so freaking easy! Seriously -- not issue at all. Had my biometrics done on Monday and it took about 10 minutes. No waiting. Seriously -- if you did the CR or fiancee process, this part is a snap.

    So far.

    Good luck. it's easy.

    :D

I have to file to remove conditions in May and am not looking forward to it

  17. Hey all!

Hope you had a good and well holiday and new year! I'm going in for my biometrics next well. All in all? So far? A pretty uneventful process, that's for sure. Hope I didn't just jinx myself saying that.

Had a great holiday -- had some time off work but not it's back to the grind -- I was really enjoying lazing about and reading and hanging out.

    :)

    Hope you all are well.
