  1. Just wanted to see if anyone could tell me something. Applied for a vistor visa for my brother-in-law- or he has applied and I am going to sponsor him. We have an appointment confirmation but it says to pick up documents. So does these mean that he just picks up the paper work on that day and then they give him an appointment for the visa interview.

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

  2. Interview IS DONE!! Our interviewer was awesome! We got chosen to complete a written form about each other. We went in the interview together than seperated. The form we had to complete was about 6 pages and asked detailed questions about our lives togther, family, finances, type of soap we used, etc. It was about 80 questions. We then had to answer a few verbal questions. Our answers were compared and the interviewer said she had never seen a couple that answered all the questions the same. We had the same answers to all the questions! I was a little worried my husband may not know things like the dates of births of all of my children or grandchildren put he was right on the money! Our card productions has been ordered!

God's speed to all those who are still waiting and we hope your interviews are as easy as ours was!

  3. Congrats to everyone who have gotten their approvals. Boy, I am sure you can agree that this porcess is horrible but got to do what we got to do.

I have a question: This is the email I got today

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was

    transferred.

The I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS was

transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office. You will be notified

by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If

you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online

tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service

    center at 1-800-375-5283.

If you have questions or concerns about your application or the case status

results listed above, or if you have not received a decision from USCIS within

the current processing time listed*, please contact USCIS Customer Service at

    (800) 375-5283.

*Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at www.uscis.gov

under Check My Case Status and Check Processing Times.

*** Please do not respond to this e-mail message.

Does this mean that my case was tranfered to our local office for processing and that we will have to have an interview?

    Thanks

    Cynthia

  4. Called to check on our application and was told that the 4 month processing time noted on USCIS website for I-485 is for work related cases only. When asked what the processing time was for family based- I could not get an answer and was told that no one would be able to tell me. Our application was transfered to the California Center on Feb 25,2010. Our case recieved on 02/11/10 at USCIS. Has anyone else run into this issue and if so what did you do. Those people are crazy!!!

Got through to an Officer of some sort and he told me that we are looking at another 6months (already has been 5 months)! What the #######!!!

  6. Got our Work Authorization Card Today!! :D

I just received my Green Card :) It was the only letter in the mailbox... from Lee's Summit :D

    What a calming experience.

You all know (and most of you are still going through) the many steps and fears along the journey. To finally hold the Green Card in your hands is tremendously rewarding. It doesn't look spectacular (at least not the front - the back does look fancy with a huge silver hologram/chip thing).

I'm so used to the visa struggles that it is hard to believe that it's over for a little less than two years and that I'll finally choose a different line at the airports when they check your status :D (citizens & permanent residents left, everyone else right... !). :D :D

I hope all of you will be successful and soon hold your cards. Best wishes from the bottom of my heart, and we will surely see each other in the I-751/Removal of Conditions thread in 2012 :)

    Snivvel & Snivvel's Better Half :)

    Congrats

  7. Hello Everyone

We have been members for a few years now and I try not to post to much, I just read every evening all the other post because they seem to answer a lot of my question. Today, I am feeling just a little frustrated with waiting, waiting, and waiting some more. I know thats the name of the game but I just wish I could make everyone's dreams come true of getting those final notices with APPROVAL stamped all over!!

03/04/10- Email stating that the California Center has our file and is processing!! Can anyone tell me if that means we will have to have any type of interview? We are setting in the time frame which is noted on our timeline (time has not past yet)for an approval. I know they are not for sure but I also wanted to know if we pass that time what happens then.

    Thanks

    Cindy
