I did called them yesterday. You know I am one of those guys. lolz. well before 2:00pm Paistan time, I could not get in touch cause their number was busy. I called twice after 2:10 and got picked up easily. I was told that the packet was sent on January 30th by tcs. Since it was kashmir day yesterday, she might get the packet today. I hope everything goes faster from there.

Packet 3 will have the require documents list. You will have to fill out all the DS forms online now as USEM dont send em any more to applicants. You will need

Two copies DS-156(DS-156 needs to be done on this website https://evisaforms.state.gov/)

One copy DS-230

One copy DS-156K

One copy DS-157

Birth certificate with english translation (original)

Death certificate or Divorce certificate if previously married (and translations) (original)

I-134 (Affidavit of Support) from petitioner(I did get my i-134 notarize) & supporting documents, including:

Copies of petitioner/sponsors fed. tax returns (last three years)

Proof of employment

Proof of assets

Beneficiaries passport (copy)

Two passport size photos

Police certificates

Have them ready & turn in to Amex once you get packet 3.5. Police report can take time so try to get this asap. Packet 4 will have interview letter and medical instructions.

I have sent them emails and got no response. Damn, I thought the USCIS process was hard to get around. Embassy was going to be this way I never thought. Anyway I am on it. I just called State department but they are closed for the day. I will try contacting ISB in a while. Thanx for the help everyone. Respects.

Keep sending them emails. Thats what I used to do lol. Tell em that its been more then 2 weeks & you are panicking & stuff. And be sure to put your ISL case number or else they wont reply to you at all. Yea DOS is not open 24/7 so you will have to call tomorrow morning.

I dont think they have been responding to emails lately or maybe they just dont like me anymore .

You can try but they are always busy. God, I remember myself staying up till very late and trying to call them. I just never cud get thru with them. Have you tried contacting them by email? We never got our packet 3.5, the one they originally sent so I sent an email asking them to resend. And they did, I got it after couple of days.. You can also try calling DOS. Department of states can tell you whatever info USEM put in thr system. DOS phone number is 2026631225. Press 1 and then 0 & you will be talking to live person.

Thankyou Mary, browneyedgirl & ybutt20. It feels real good to avoid AP hell. As for her interview, it wasn't very long. She was in at 8 & was out by 9.30. She said the CO only asked her the following questions:

Q. how did you meet?

Q. Are you two cousin or related to one another?

Q. How many Kids do you have? (to which she said she is just engaged & CO smiled)

Q. Why do you wanna marry him?

Q. What is yours & his phone number?

Q. When will you get married?

After all of that, the CO said your case is st8 forward & you will hear from us in a week & gave her maroon/red slip.

Oh btw Mary, I was gonna ask you. Whats the next step wheneva she gets here & how much is the fees for AOS? Thanks in advance.

Call DOS. The phone number is 202 663 1225 ( press 1 & then 0) & ask for an update on your case & they will tell you everything.

The best thing is to download the forms and get everything ready (2 passport photographs, DS -156, DS-157, copies of your nikkah nama, birth certificate, notarized Affidavit of support etc). Remember, the sooner you mail in your response to Packet 3.5, the sooner you'll get your interview date, inshAllah.

I am panicking. Embassy is saying they dont have my documents & Amex is saying they sent it for sure. I just dont know what to do & who to believe. Just a thought of having to re do everything is giving me a headache.

I ve received da packet 3.5 wid da checklist n forms..!! I ve filled da forms n prepared all documents.. but I wana ask dat Is dat original documents required to send or copies of dem?? Passport, police n Birth certificate are mentioned in check list.. Should I send original thingies wid da form or a copy of dem?? As I do believe dat I wil b needing passport at da time of medical.. If I wil submit ma original passport dan how would I show it to doctor at da time of medical?

Pls. do reply asap as I need to send dem tomorrow !!

Does anyone know what USEM ISL uses to send the Packet 3/3.5/4 in terms of delivery method (pak mail/TCS/AMEX)?

While USEM did not tell me if they mailed P3 - I just called DOS and found out that Packet was mailed on 12/11/08. My spouse has not received it yet.

How long does it take to deliver such packet?

I donnu much about k3, but we got our packet thru Pak mail. Wait few days & if you still dont see it in ur mail box then call/or email Embassy & ask them to resend it. Thats what I did & we got the packet the very next day. Now I am waiting for packet 4 & hoping for next month interview date.

Question for all the female applicantz here. Did you'll had to sent DS157 form to da embassy?? I really dont want to send that form cuz of the obvious reason(traveling)

I know we dont sign DS156k, we do it at the interview but what about DS156? I tried to search it here but m getting diff answers. Some r saying we do, some r saying we dont.

For K1 the form DS-157 is not required for Pakistani Female??? rite . I remember reading somewhere that DS-157 is only for male applicant.

They use Pakistan Post to send out the Packet 3.5. You should email them to send it out again in case it has been lost.

I still haven't got my packet 3.5. My file reached the Embassy on the 20th and today is the 1st. Sent an email to Embassy & they replied saying they sent out the packet dated 25th. I am not panicking yet but I am starting to get worried. Do you guys know what Courier Embassy use for K1 & could u find the number or n email add so I can contact em. Thanks in advance.
