Submit a completed and signed Application for Naturalization (Form N-400) – In Part 2 (Information About Your Eligibility), please note whether the eligibility is under INA Section 316(a) or 319(a) and mark Section D (Other). Write in: "319(e) Overseas Naturalization.

thank you for your reply! so do I check option B. AND E.Other (explain) or only section E?

  2. Hello Everybody!

my husband is active duty and currently stationed in Italy. I am here in Italy as well, command sponsorship. I have been a GC holder for 9 years and I am ready to apply for my citizenship. I would like to be able to complete the whole process without having to travel back to the USA and I already contact Rome Embassy about it. On the USCIS website I found this

"Spouses should indicate that they seek to naturalize through the general provision [30] or on the basis of their marriage to a U.S. citizen for three years [31] and to rely on INA 319(e) to meet the applicable continuous residence and physical presence requirements. Spouses should also write in: “319(e) Overseas Naturalization,” if so desired"

So my question is....where do I write in "319(e) Overseas Naturalization"

Thank you in advance if you can help me figure this out =D

Maybe is for people that ile ROC after the GC already expired?! Thanks or your help and advices!

  4. Hey, one of my friend is here on a J1 Vis and he just left today to go to Lisboa to see his gf. At the airport he wrote me tha he is worry cuz he forgot at home what he call "the letter with all the information about the place where he is doing his job" that he used to entry the first time he got here. He just have his passport with his visa. Is it going to be enought for him to come back or is he gonna have some problems? Its the first time he leave the USA after he got here! Thanks for your help!@

  5. I was denied entry just cuz I was traveling back and for too often to visit my now husband and they said that I didn't have the right visa...when they denied me entry they told me to get a k1 visa or the k3 visa and thats what we got and in fact I had no problem to entry with my k1 visa!

Btw I was never detained by Us goverment.

  6. Hey! I was just cuoriose if this ever happen to anyone of you..I was denied entry in 2007 and in 2009 I got my K1 Visa and now my GC...Last month I went to Italy for 3 weeks and whenI came back at the POE they sent me for second inspection for what happened in 2007...they told me this is gonna happen everytime I leave and re-entry the country...somebody else went trought the same thing? I appreciate any comment! Thanx!

  7. I had your same doubt when they denied me entry in 2007 but I got my K1 Visa with no problem and now I have my green card. They wrote on my passport "Application withdrawn " as well...they only pain in the a** is that when I got back with my green card after visiting Italy (last week), they still took me to second inspection and told this is gonna happen everytime I leave and re-entry the country because of my previous denied entry! I actually got kind of paranoid when I was waiting for them to talk to me but the officer just asked me how I got my green card (i showed him the marriage licence and told him I had with me all the documents since my K1 Visa application) and how long I stayed in Italy...not very nice after all the work we put in getting the green card the right way...but I guess there is nothing u can do about it!

  8. Good morning everyone! Im about to leave the States today to go to Italy for a month and im confused about something...now that I have the GC I don't have the I94 of my last entry anymore cuz the officer took it when I went to the interview....so I was wondering how immigration is gonna know that Im leaving the country? Am I going to show the GC to anybody before I leave? It my first time leaving the USA after i got here with my K1 and Im kind of nervouse for my re-entry even if with the GC there should be no problem... Thanks for your help!

  9. Hello!

I had my interview on August 22nd and my hubby was out of town for training ...Iwas worried about what the officer was going to think too but all it took was his military order (or in your case a letter from his commander)...the officer didn't make any question about it and honeslty I think they are used to have to deal with this when the husband or wife is in the Army...everything is gonna be fine!!!! Good luck!

  10. :wow: I got my green card in the mail today!!!!! I just went to get my mail, and there it was! That was a lot faster than I expected! The website said it was mailed yesterday, so I was hoping for next week, but I'm so happy that its here!

Thank you all for your support during this process! :)

    Congrats Eric and teresa.

I wanted to tell you about my interview. I dont even want to call it interview because i was not really asked for anything besides the questions from the form answerable by yes or no. Anyways, our appointment was at 1pm. Me and my husband arrived at 12:30 and then told to wait in the first floor for an hour or so before called to go to the 2nd floor. There we waited again for like 30 mins before we were called. The IO was a very nice gentleman. He led us the way to the room where we took the oath and lets us be seated. First thing he said was that he dont even know why we were there coz he said we have everything in file already. He asked me the yes or no questions from the form and then said to me " you have been very good since you're here in the US, right?" I smiled and said, yes i am and will always be.

He asked if i have been married before and have kids and i said no, this is my first marriage. He asked us if there's anything we would like to add in our file for him, then my husband said if he would want to take a look at some of our pictures and take one. He said sure. I gave him one of our wedding pictures and was pleased. And, that was it. I made sure he knows today is my husbands birthday so i said something, lol. And he wished my hubby happy bday.

Before he even start he took my I94 already and after that told me that im approved coz he cant think of anything else to ask me or my husband and that he will have my passport stamped and we only have to wait downstairs for it. He led us again the way out and i even joked what a good exercise that was coz its kinda long hallway in getting in and out. And then downstairs we waited again for like forever for my passport. All in all, we got out from that building at exactly 3:40. But then again, we dont mind the waiting and hunger. Now i am so happy i have been really so lucky in my visa endeavor. All my interviews, medicals and everything went well. I have been very meticulous and careful to all the forms and that helped a lot and prayed a lot too... helped sooo much.

Now, all i have to wait is the GC in mail. Thanks everyone here!

Congratulation on your approval! it seems like it was a good experience afterall! Tell your hubby Happy B-day...guess what? today is my hubby b-day as well! :)
