  1. Kimcorene! What's up?!!! Are you celebrating?!

Not yet, BTB, not yet, lol...Our interview is Monday afternoon.

    Darn it!!!

Why was I thinking Friday?! Here I was thinking you were keeping it all to yourself! Oh well - Good luck again...for MONDAY!!!

 That's ok- Monday will be here soon. We're as ready as we will ever be, so we aren't nervous- but then again, today is Saturday, who knows what tomorrow will bring, lol.

  2. Hmmm... I was simply asking a question based on my interpretation of the tone of your previous post...internet arguments are really not my style. I asked because some people seem to be so defensive, as if everyone in the world has good intentions...which we can see is not the case, as evidenced by different situations we hear about on VJ and in real life. That's my two cents.

  3. David and I talked online for 4 months and saw each other once for a week before we decided to file for K1. We are happily married for 3 years and counting.

    Stop generalizing and move on....

People aren't generalizing. They are just telling their stories as they see them. Be a little more compassionate, please. Especially if you have never been in this sort of situation. Until then, you don't understand what it's like.

OP is plenty generalizing, just read his posts...

OP is not asking for compassion, instead he is attempting to "warn" people about these horrible users from other countries how will do whatever it takes to get in the US... Please!

Are you denying that there actually are "horrible users from other countries how will do whatever it takes to get in the US"?

  4. Hi Folks,

I received my Green Card this morning in the mail. Kinda groovy looking with a big metallic strip across the back and a wee envelope to store it in. I think I'll photocopy it and bring that around with me rather than the card - I know I'd loose it.

Good luck to all those still waiting.

    Here's to 2011.

    R

Congrats! When I got mine, I wished it were EVEN more groovy looking! I think I fell asleep holding it one night, I was so happy to have it - I just kept getting it out to sneak a peak!

:rofl:You are something else, BTB- but I cant blame you- after all this work, I wouldn't want to let it go either.

Kimcorene - good luck for the interview! I'm sure it will be a breeze! :thumbs:Thanks!

  5. Good luck with your interview Kimcorene.

  6. hi guys!

Its been a while since i last posted here but i do check the message every week. Just to update you about the status of my application. On Saturday I received my GREEN CARD in the mail without any email notification and no update on the website. Its been such a smooth journey for me. THANK GOD!! What's amazing is that...it took us exactly one year since we filed our fiance visa application up to the time when we received my Green Card!

More power to everyone!! Thank you very much!!

    Congrats!

  7. I'm so sorry, Captain Craig. You deserve so much better then that.

I agree. Nobody deserves to be used and mistreated. A lot of people seem to be judgmental, but remember, it could happen to anyone. People want to do all they can to make their partner happy when they are in love, and unfortunately, there are people out there who will take advantage of that. At least Captain Craig was honest enough to take responsibility and point out certain things- like the age disparity and the fact that many people go overseas to get with partners, who, if they had been in the U.S., would not have given them the time of day and many women do so, too, only to end up being hurt, as evidenced by many of the scenarios we see here on VJ. The possibility of migrating to the U.S. would increase even Quasimodo's attractiveness factor for some people.

  8. Normally they should have sent to you a RFE, but in your case they haven't.

The best solution to this problem at this point is :

File I290-B by paying $585 & along with the completed I-864.

They just want your money, there is nothing to be scared about.

She does not have to leave the country !....

    GOOD LUCK !.....

    HERE IS MY TIMELINE :

    I-130 mailed 01/13/09

    I-130 received by USCIS 01/16/09

    NOA1 Mail for I-130 received 01/22/09

    I-485 Package mailed 02/17/09

I-485 Package received by USCIS 02/20/09

    NOA1 Mail for I-485 & I-765 received 02/26/09

    NOA2 e-mail for I-130 Approval 03/03/09 (47 Days)

NOA2 Hard Copy of I-130 Approval received 03/07/09

Biometrics App. Mail Notice received 03/09/09 (App. Date 03/24/09)

NOTE : I DID NOT APPLY FOR I-131 (AP).

How do you know an RFE wasn't sent? Usually this letter follows an unanswered RFE, as cases don't go straight to removal proceedings. The OP needs to file to re-open and submit the correct form. If he really didn't receive an RFE, whether it was sent or not, then that strengthens his case. If he did receive one, but did not respond, or it got lost in the mail, or they failed to send one etc., USCIS is not going to accept responsibility either way.

  9. Check and make sure your J1 has no requirement for returning to your country. If it does, it will say so on the visa itself.

The endorsement is usually on the IAP-66, and not on the visa itself.

That's not correct- it is found on both the DS-2019 (as it is now known) and the visa. The OP needs to check both as some people have had two different endorsements on the visa and the DS-2019.

  10. Congratulations, everybody! Rosie/Kimcorene won't have any work to do for us pretty soon with all the GC's flying around here!

CanadianMade - I was going to ask if there is any news, but I guess you'd be on here screaming from the rafters if there were, *sigh* Sorry, mate. Didn't I read somewhere that they have 60 days to give you at least a response? Maybe I'm wrong or misread. How long is it now?

Definitely, and believe me, I'm so happy things are going so fast for everyone.

  11. I am the proud mother of 6 children, 4 girls & 2 boys. Stephanie 17, Natalie 15, Liam 14, Jasmine 12, Rhys 11 & Shannon 9. There all in school & working so hard to make us proud as parents & bringing home good grades. However, Stephanie will be going into 12th Grade this year & has high hope’s of joining the Air force, this has been here ambition for as long as I can remember. She is also currently in N.J.R.O.T.C & has been since starting High School, she has many ribbons & medals. But I am so scared that her hopes & dreams will not become a reality , your probably wondering why, well it is due to the fact that my children & I are still British Citizens despite living in America for almost the past 5 years.

She cannot be ROTC unless she is a US Citizen...

    Hmmm, very interesting...

  12. Congrats! I guess things may be a little slow around here for the next week...I don't think there are any more interviews until mine on the 30th- can't wait!

I know I also noticed that myself Kimcorene things are slow in here and your interview is coming up in 10 days, good luck to you on your interview and I know you will get approved, bring us back an approval.

    Thanks! I better, lol.
