We spent today at church (as always) and hubby wanted to practice some questions, but when we got back we got sidetracked with putting together baby furniture we bought yesterday, , so we didn't get that done. But, we aren't nervous or anything- hopefully all that free time tomorrow morning wont find me panicking, .

Hmmm... I was simply asking a question based on my interpretation of the tone of your previous post...internet arguments are really not my style. I asked because some people seem to be so defensive, as if everyone in the world has good intentions...which we can see is not the case, as evidenced by different situations we hear about on VJ and in real life. I received my Green Card this morning in the mail. Kinda groovy looking with a big metallic strip across the back and a wee envelope to store it in. I think I'll photocopy it and bring that around with me rather than the card - I know I'd loose it.

Congrats! When I got mine, I wished it were EVEN more groovy looking! I think I fell asleep holding it one night, I was so happy to have it - I just kept getting it out to sneak a peak!

What if the IO wants to keep a few copies, as I have seen many people report?

It is advisable to follow the instructions to file the motion to re-open, rather than file again for AOS- not only is it cheaper, but you may have issues by leaving this current case unresolved.

Read your interview letter carefully- maybe several times, as it has a very long and detailed list of what kind of evidence to bring to the interview.

Its been a while since i last posted here but i do check the message every week. Just to update you about the status of my application. On Saturday I received my GREEN CARD in the mail without any email notification and no update on the website. Its been such a smooth journey for me. THANK GOD!! What's amazing is that...it took us exactly one year since we filed our fiance visa application up to the time when we received my Green Card!

I agree. Nobody deserves to be used and mistreated. A lot of people seem to be judgmental, but remember, it could happen to anyone. People want to do all they can to make their partner happy when they are in love, and unfortunately, there are people out there who will take advantage of that. At least Captain Craig was honest enough to take responsibility and point out certain things- like the age disparity and the fact that many people go overseas to get with partners, who, if they had been in the U.S., would not have given them the time of day and many women do so, too, only to end up being hurt, as evidenced by many of the scenarios we see here on VJ. The possibility of migrating to the U.S. would increase even Quasimodo's attractiveness factor for some people.

Normally they should have sent to you a RFE, but in your case they haven't.

How do you know an RFE wasn't sent? Usually this letter follows an unanswered RFE, as cases don't go straight to removal proceedings. The OP needs to file to re-open and submit the correct form. If he really didn't receive an RFE, whether it was sent or not, then that strengthens his case. If he did receive one, but did not respond, or it got lost in the mail, or they failed to send one etc., USCIS is not going to accept responsibility either way.

A regular photocopy will work. It's the original being photocopied that needs to be certified ( proof that it has been entered into the records of your state).

Even though your brother is self-employed, he should have evidence of his income, such as tax returns. You can get these from the IRS for free to be sent in with the affidavit. nAs long as he has been paying his taxes, the IRS will be able to provide these. You should request the last three tax yrs. returns.

Check and make sure your J1 has no requirement for returning to your country. If it does, it will say so on the visa itself.

The endorsement is usually on the IAP-66, and not on the visa itself.

That's not correct- it is found on both the DS-2019 (as it is now known) and the visa. The OP needs to check both as some people have had two different endorsements on the visa and the DS-2019.

If you are filing the I-485 and I-130 together, then select a: an approval notice is not necessary, since you are doing both at the same time.

However, Stephanie will be going into 12th Grade this year & has high hope’s of joining the Air force, this has been here ambition for as long as I can remember. But I am so scared that her hopes & dreams will not become a reality , your probably wondering why, well it is due to the fact that my children & I are still British Citizens despite living in America for almost the past 5 years.

Spend the time reading other people's experiences, esp. those at your field office and take time to make sure all your documentation is prepared. In the mean time, just relax.
