Thanks for the info about traveling, guys
I spotted some hot crossed buns at the supermarket the other day! However, they were a lot smaller and they were made with white bread, not brown.

Questions:
Also, if your maiden name is used in NZ passport and married name is on the GC, what surname do you put on the airline ticket? Do you show your NZ passport when leaving USA airport to go to NZ? And then do you use your NZ passport when entering and leaving NZ? Then on your return to USA airport, you show your GC?
I put my maiden name on my airline ticket! It says that you have to put the name which is to be the same name as your passport. My passport is still in my maiden name so that's what I did! I might also take a copy of our marriage certificate to have on me if anyone asks.

Hi everyone! I am going back to NZ to visit in two weeks! Does anyone know if I need to take anything with me besides my Green Card? Also, on the way back into the US, should I need anything else? I'm assuming I don't need to apply online 48 hours ahead like everyone else from NZ on the Visa Waiver Program.
-
Congratulations Kelvan on receiving your GC. Too bad the biometrics slowed you down a bit, but you have it now!
Thanks Greg I'm so happy!!!

Thanks Kiwiana! I'm so glad it finally arrived, and no interview! My brothers and cousin are here right now in the US on a vacation so I am celebrating with them

Hey everyone, just a quick update! We got a RFE a few weeks ago (December 30) due to my fingerprints being taken twice and still being unreadable. So we had to get the local police department to write a letter to say that I have no criminal record in the state of Kansas. I sent this back to USCIS the other day!
-
Aww that stinks Well I'm glad they have a back-up option for those who have unreadable finger prints!Kelvan, that really sucks about the delays from the fingerprints. Hope you get a quick approval after you submit the police report.
Thanks guys. Yeah I hope we get approval soon! Looking at the spreadsheet we are pretty behind everyone else!

My work permit has arrived! It was approved on 12-07-09!!!
Also, I have to go back for fingerprints on 12-21-09 as they didn't seem to get them properly the last time The woman there had HEAPS of trouble, so I'm assuming the same thing will happen. We'll see how it goes!
-
Our travel application got approved!
However, I need to go and get my fingerprints taken again because they 'had trouble processing' the ones they took the other week The woman had a lot of trouble getting my fingerprints to read because I use a keyboard often. What if it happens again?

I am in the graphic design industry I used to be the art director of Lucky Break magazine in NZ and before that I was a designer for good old Woman's Day xD Here in the US I would be willing to take on ANYTHING to do with design, as I figure it will be really difficult for me to find a job even in that field!

Yay thanks! Whoa Kansas is a long way from the ocean! Do you ever miss it? I really want to go to Port Angeles because Twilight was filmed there hehe (shameful I know!)
Snow is awesome! It snowed in Richland, my SO's town, on Christmas day last year and it doesn't often snow there, so that was pretty neat, felt just like being in a sno-globe.
Where did you guys all live back in NZ? I can't wait to move from a big city to a small town
Yes Twilight was filmed there xD
I lived in Bucklands Beach, Auckland all my life until now. I miss Auckland, but I don't miss the ocean as much as I thought I would. I think I have adapted quite well to Kansas! However, we are thinking about eventually moving to San Francisco, similar climate to Auckland and way more jobs
Does anyone here plan on ever returning to NZ to live one day?
-
Hey congrats on passing your interview Zeddess! Not long to go now
I have a friend who lives in Washington state, in a place called Port Angeles I'm in Olathe, Kansas. I looove our apartment, and I am actually dreading going to work now cos I love being in it so much hehe! We went for a walk tonight and it was 0C!!! ZERO! Can't wait til it snows! The first time is always the best I think hehe.

I had my biometrics on Monday! The woman had lots of trouble getting my fingerprints because I spend too much time on the computer lol. Oh and they asked to see our marriage certificate, which I had brought with me luckily!

Had my biometrics taken on Monday. The woman had LOTS of trouble getting my finger prints because apparently I use a computer too much and type on a keyboard which makes them harder to see She got them in the end though! And she said to expect an interview letter within 90 days!
Oh and also, she asked for our marriage license. It didn't say to bring it on the letter, but luckily I brought everything just in case!

Hi everyone, didn't realise there was a subforum about this and a thread for October filers! We filed ours in October. We just received a letter saying our case has been transferred to CSC.
Hi Kelvan, welcome to the group! I've added you to our October filers spreadsheet (link to spreadsheet below). Just need to know a few more things:
- Did you file the I-693 with your AOS package?
- What is the receipt date for your NOA package?
Good luck with your bio next week and keep us posted on your progress.
Greg
Thanks Greg! I didn't send the whole I-693, just the vaccination record that I received in my home country when submitting my K1 application. The notice date is October 22

Thanks for letting me know guys! Well, hopefully they won't take too long! However, I have a feeling it might cos there's the Thanksgiving, Christmas and NYE period coming up
And no interview? I wonder if that's how they are doing it now for everyone!
-
Hey guys, we got a notice in the mail. We are getting transferred to CSC! Is this good or bad? I have no idea! Looks like we are going through the same thing as you cdneh?
-
Yaaaay cdneh!!! It's about time

Hey ivannnaloveskiwi, we are in the same situation right now! We filed our AOS a few weeks ago and have received our letter for a biometrics appointment. Yours should be arriving soon

Back in NZ! It feels sooo good to be home I have been driving all around Auckland and it is wonderful! Have also eaten a couple of meat pies hehe. I'm here for 13 days for my dads 60th, Evan will arrive on Sunday... can't wait! It's really hard to be away from him when I've spent the last 6 months seeing him everyday.
My flight from LAX - Auckland was only half full because of the cancelled London - LAX flight that was to connect with ours. Everyone had a row to themselves in the plane! I heard stories of some people getting tickets for super cheap. The guy near me said he got a flight from North Carolina - LAX - Auckland - Sydney for $600 last minute! The airlines must be trying to sell the seats that would have been occupied by the people from London!
