I do not believe that the new I-134 needs to be notarized. Mine certainly wasn't, and the embassy accepted it without question

Don't worry about it - It's normal.
If you are concerned that you are getting close to the expiration date and you still have no interview, you can always write to the embassy asking them to extend the date for peace of mind, but they tend to do it automatically.

Court records in the UK should be kept by the court as they are public records (although the public can't normally see them for at least 30 years), and will be in their archive. It should be pretty straight forward to get them too under the Data Protection Act. It could also be worthwhile talking to the solicitor who was handling the case as they may still have their file in their archive.
He could also try the police as although spent convictions should be deleted from the Police National Computer after 10 years, it's not an automated process, so he could also ask the local police about what they hold on him.

I would save yourself the money on lawyers. They don't get you anything done any faster. By following the advice and guides here you will learn everything that you need to know.
I personally have found this site invaluable, and as a result I had a quite painless and hassle free journey to get my K-1.
You're also likely to get a faster response to any questions you have by using this site, and the advice is practical and free, and, unlike a lawyer, it is available 24 hours a day.

Hi i just want to ask this, what if i have my interview next month(May)? and my K1 visa is approved? would it be ok to stay here for a while then leave in August?
Thanks i hope to get an aswer from you guys, before i sched our interview date.
You would be fine with that. The visa is valid for 6 months.
I've just got mine, and I am not leaving until the end of May.

My other half had to send for a copy of his divorce decree from Florida. He got a certified copy back and it was 11 pages long. However there is no raised seal only a stamp. I suppose they vary from state to state. Also whats the difference between a Divorce Decree and Decree Absolute or are they the same thing?
UK divorce papers are all just rubber stamped by the courts - I checked with a friend of mine who is a solicitor and that is all they seem to do. I have read in some threads that this has caused no problems at the Consular stage as I am sure that the Embassy is fully aware of how the British courts do it.

50 pages sounds a lot for the Decree Absolute. Is that just the Decree Absolute, or is that including the Petition, Decree Nisi and the rest of the stuff?
In the UK the Decree Absolute is a fairly simple document which states that the marriage is dissolved on such-and-such a date.
To get a copy of the Decree Absolute all you need to do is request one from the court that dissolved the marriage. You need to send them the case number - will either start with **D (*this is the last two digits of the year petition was filed, or two letters and then the **D) and a cheque made payable to HMCS for the princely sum of £5.00.
If you need to find the address of a court try http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/HMCSCourtFinder/

I would say that you have been a resident since September. People I know in Ireland on a work visa are classed as residents, and it will be the same for you.
