I (Alfreda) am a headlining entertainer (vocalist) on Holland America Cruise Line. On October 15th 2006, I was going to my suite on the "Westerdam", and heard the most AMAZING piano player in the world in the bar downstairs. I went to see who it was! Unable to see him at first, i sat in the back of the lounge and was in AWE of what i heard. Some of the music even made me cry. I couldn't wait any longer. The bar was crowded with passengers but, got up and looked around the corner. . .thinking i was going to see an old black man, playing jazz with a cigarette and a glass of scotch. WRONG! To my surprise, there sat a HOT, young, sexy white guy, with the most amazing blue eyes i have ever seen. OMG! He looked at me, and stopped playing! The whole room stopped talking and looked at us at that moment. . .the moment we fell in love!! The problem was, Volodymyr couldn't speak english. For the first few months, we communicated with facial expressions and. . . .touching. Then, as i listened to him play, i realized that we knew a LOT of the same songs, only he knew them in Russian. So, when we wanted to say something, we would hum the melody of the song that described our feelings at that moment. He would hum "You Are So Beautiful" to me, and, i'd hum "You Are The Sunshine of my Life" and so on. He started studying english on the ship. I wrote him a note that said, "What are you doing the rest of your life? Will you spend it with me?". I told him when he learned to read in english, give me the answer to the question on the paper. In February of this year, he called me from Ukraine. I answered the phone and a voice on the other end said "YES". I said yes. .what? He said, "i want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" OMG!!! Of course i said YES and. . . .here we are. :)
