Nope, they let us register to vote.
I don’t know if I’d wanna apply for the passport as a #1 step since they take your naturalization certificate for that and you need it for all the other steps.
So unless you are leaving the country quickly, I would not prioritize the passport application.

About 3 days.
I think I’m done with all the post-oath paperwork. I did not find too much info on that so here’s what I did:
day 1 - do the oath, get the certificate, register to vote after the ceremony (free)
day 2 - report status change to employer with a new I9 form (free)
day 3 - report status change to DMV, got a new DL ordered ($11)
day 4 - report status change to SSA, they started then stopped new card production since my card is in good shape and had no conditions on it (IR1) (free)
day 5 - apply for US passport, I left this as a last step since they take your original certificate and mail in back in a couple of weeks ($110 for passport book, $35 in fees, optional cost another $30 for passport card)
I saw conflicting info on if DMV was needed or not but my DMV said it should be done so when my number is looked up it doesn’t say “LPR” so I updated it. This way when a renewal comes I’ll be able to do it online, too.

I got the same notification the day after my ceremony. Yours just took a bit longer to update it seems.

Ah I see. So by providing parental documents, a minor can get a US passport of their own making N600 for their own certificate completely optional at this point.

No. You are not required to file a Form N-600 for a Certificate of Citizenship. The Certificate of Citizenship is an optional form. A validly issued U.S. passport generally serves as evidence of your U.S. citizenship during its period of validity unless that passport has been revoked by the Department of State.
Hmmm I had a colleague that had to file <something> to get her certificate even though she was under 18 when her parents naturalized. Her lawyer mother was helping her with paperwork.
N600 for Certificate of citizenship, not naturalization, thanks for the correction in terms.
My understanding was you need the N600 to have proof of citizenship with which you can apply for a US passport. I understand you do not need it the other way around (passport then N600), but if one of the requirements to apply for a passport is to have proof of citizenship (my husband had his US birth certificate and Ill have my certificate of naturalization), what does a minor child of a newly naturalized US citizen use? Their parents paperwork? Don’t they need something of their own?

I’m not in this situation, but my understanding is that a child cannot just apply for a US passport to prove citizenship. Yes, they are automatically citizens, but still naturalized (at the same time as parents) and need thier own certificate of naturalization.

My oath is scheduled for next week. The oath letter doesn't give any specific instructions on how early to come, just what to bring and how to dress.
However, the interview officer said to come 3 hours early? Is that really necessary?

I had an experience today of all the things that you should not do I guess. First I had my N-400 today with my I-751 pending. I only got the N-400 notice for interview and it said nothing about bringing my wife along. I was however planning to take her along. However, we have a 6 week old who gave us a scare last week and had to be hospitalized for three days. Last night he was coughing and my wife and I felt it was not a good idea to drive him all the way to Orlando and back. Anyways I checked in for the interview and then the lady comes out and calls my name and then asks where is your wife. I told her what happened. She said well I will have to reschedule and she took my interview notice with her. She was very pleasant. I showed her the hospital discharge notice. She then said I will reschedule and your wife has to be there and make sure to bring all the originals of the documents you submitted. I think its unfair that the notice said nothing about the spouse and now I have to wait again.... I keep reading about months long wait for rescheduling now... Any idea anyone what happens next? Moral of the story - take your spouse if asked or not!
. I am sorry this happened to you. It's unfair that they would reschedule it if they do not specifically request the spouse.
I hope you have it soon and that your baby gets well.

I have no idea. The officer said probably a 1-2 month wait to get the letter.

I passed my interview today. My case status changed online 2 minutes after I walked out of the office. My application for citizenship has been accepted and it is pending final review before I go in line for scheduling for the oath ceremony.
I was also approved for an oath modification based on a strong moral or ethical belief. My oath omits the parts "so help me God" and "bearing the arms for the US if required by law". It does have the part about performing non-combatant services if required by law.
All in all, it took about 30 minutes. We walked in 15 minutes before my interview time and the officer separated me and my husband before we got to the waiting room. I was taken straight to his office for the interview and put under oath. It was really relaxed, with people coming in and our for other issues, he left for a second too and reminded me I was under oath when we came back, we talked about Luka Modric winning Balon d'Or and Croatia winning 2nd spot in the World Cup this year :D

Hi guys,
Today, Nov 3rd, I received one email and two text messages about a case update. My interview was scheduled yesterday, Nov 2nd, in SATX. The interview letter is still not available online. I expect I’ll be able to access it tomorrow or Monday at the latest. I’m guessing the interview will be in December.
I’ll update the table once I find out when they scheduled me.
Hopefully the rest of you see some movement on your case soon, too!

My new ID arrived in mail 10 days after I applied.
Less than 2 weeks after I applied for the passport, I got an email notifying me that it is done. It will be shipped Priority mail and it should arrive by the end of the week.

Now this feels weird. This means I am done done. No more paperwork, USCIS, anything. It is so weird and I hope all of our April files get to experience it soon. Its been 10 months so about time to get it wrapped up!
