  1. I dont think anybody is going to be able to tell you if whatever it is they are questioning you for at POE is relevant to your wait at the uscis. It sounds simple enough to be questioned. They can never scan my passport for some strange reason. I always end up getting asked more questions.

There seems to be a small group of filers who have similar dates to yours. I'd say it's more likely your adjuticator is on vacation.

Thanks for posting a comment Kim! I have been going nuts to find out what is causing this delay...

I think this is what the wait at USCIS does to most of people and there is really no way for us to

find it out. Only USCIS knows. I hope my adjudicator will come back to work as soon as possible

    and get the work done!!!

  2. Hi, everyone!

My fiance filed the I-129F on March 26 and the NOA1 was issued on March 31.

Our case has not got approved yet and I have been wondering why it is taking USCIS

so long to process my case.

I, the beneficiary, used to be a student in the US with F-1 visa.

My student visa was good till 2007 but I decided to quit the school in the US before my visa expired

and returned to my Japanese university that I was originally enrolled in.

Although my visa was still good, I have never used my student visa to enter the US

since I quit the US school as I was no longer a student in the US. I would only stay in the US for 2 and half months

    tops.

The oddest thing is that since I returned to Japan 2005, I have been always sent to a different room

upon entering the US. At the costum, they always tell me to go to a different room with my passport

and whenever I ask them why, they say the information that they need to confirm does not come up

on their screen. They have also said that it had something to do with my history of having F-1 visa before.

Every time when I go to the different room, some officers ask me simple questions such as

what I used to study or if i officially withdrew the school. Some never asked me a question.

They just looked at my passport and typed something in and handed in my pasport and let me go.

This is what always always happens.

They always tell me not to worry because it makes me feel like I am a suspicious criminal or something.

Has anyone experienced the same thing before??

Do you think the delay of getting approved has something to do with this???

Thanks for reading and if you could leave me some comment regarding this matter,

I'd really appreciate it because I am so worried to feel left behind.

  3. Kim

I just wanted to let you know that your comments help me feel better

every time when I read your comment.

I totally understand how Highwaystar feels as we are still waiting for NOA2 and

at least in this thread we are the only ones that are still waiting.

I am encouraged to find more approvals every day here at VJ,

but it is not easy for me to stay strong and keep the faith that it will be my turn soon.

I see your comments here and there in different threads and you really brighten up my mood.

    Thanks (F)

  4. Get in line, buddy :x

Sorry if my comment came out a little inappropriate here.

I have been pretty whiny about this lately. I need to stop.

You have been waiting even longer than me!!

Do you think this has something to do with the country of the beneficiary, Japan??

I have seen some cases with the Japanese beneficiaries didn't take that long before,

but some took over 4 months last fall.

I sincerely hope everyone still waiting and feeling crazy will receive NOA2 soon!

  5. I am with you guys here!!!

My last touch was on April 21 2008 and I am still waiting for NOA2.

It has been getting only harder and harder as a day goes by.

I am glad to know that someone getting NOA2 means that at least VSC is working.

But I feel soo left behind and I miss my loved one so much.

He is coming to visit me next month but that is only for 10 days....

We may be just "petitioners" and "beneficiaries" on paper

but they don't get it!!!! We are petitioners and beneficiaries

because we love each other so much that we just have to be together in the same country

and that is what they are doing!!! They should not keep us apart for too long!!!

I am sure a lot of people working at VSC have their loved ones as well,

and I just wish they were compassionate enough to think of how hard it is to live apart from

their loved ones for over half year, like in our shoes.....

I wonder if they even realize that their routine work has a great significance on someone's life....

    I guess some adjudicators are....

Sorry, my comment looks like a mess, well, it is, but I just cannot help it

as I am really really stressed out about not getting NOA2....

  6. Congratulations Justin!!

It re-energizes me about getting NOA2 soon and gives me a hope

but at the same time I have to admit that I started to feel scared again to think

what if my petition will never be processed and be left behind

as it seems that there are very few of the March filers left here at VJ.

At this point, my case has not been updated since the first "touch" on April 21 yet.

I hope to be able to laugh at how I am feeling right now after I finally

receive NOA2 and feel better. Right now, I am just feeling whiny again.... :(

  7. USCIS hasn't forgotten us!!!!!! We got a touch today!!!!! I just checked and my heart totally jumped when, for the first time in nearly three months, I saw today's date in the Last Updated column!!!!! Wow, that was exciting. Let's just hope that by the end of the day that touch turns into an APPROVAL!!!!

For everyone else who's waiting from March, GO CHECK!! Maybe your cases got picked up along with mine this morning!!

I'm really just so relieved that at least our case hasn't been lost or anything like that... Whew. Maybe there will be some good action on Igor's List this week!!

    Congratulations!!! :innocent:

I am very happy for you! I just checked mine but unfotunately mine has not been updated since April 21....

Well, today has just started at VSC so I shoulnd't be too depressed about it!!!

I hope to feel the excitement that you are feeling right now very soon!

Probably, like Kim says, the adjudicator who is handling or will be handling my case got too many cases

in the box or is taking a little more time than others.... I just don't enjoy this feeling that I am left behind alone

but I am sure I am not the only one and this is how everyone else feels!!

  8. The tone of this reply isn't anger, but just curiosity. Its strange that our case, like many others with no criminal backgrounds or unusual circumstances, end up taking longer than expected. I can only assume 1 of 100 things occurred, but who knows what exactly is going on. We all are so focused on this immigration due to its closeness to our hearts, but many other aspects of our daily lives take strange turns sometimes, in regards to companies or organizations. Sometimes, it ends up you don't get the tickets you wanted because someone was faster or you get shafted by getting a ticket as they guy next to you keeps on speeding. That might seem vauge, but I'm just saying that in certain situations, we don't take things against us as serious as this immigration. Guess what I am saying is I don't feel slighted, just wish it wasn't so "dark" while I'm waiting here to see my loved one.

By the way, this is Justin doing the posting, I put her first in our username because she is my #1 :)

    Hi, Justin.

I totally understand how you feel. The date of our NOA1 is March 31st as well and I am still waiting for NOA2 with a single

touch on april 21 in my case... So many people whose date of NOA1 is the same date have already received their NOA2

and we are probably the rest that seems to be getting cleared up every day. I wonder what makes such a

big difference in the processing time. Some received NOA2 in early June, some like us are still waiting and it is already July......

It is just not fair at all. I find myself sighing very often. well, let's stay strong and hope that we will all get NOA2 soon, maybe this week!!!

  9. KimandRuss>>

March 31 is the date of our NOA1 and my fiance sent the petition several days before March 31...

I am not sure about the exact date when he sent it though

Thanks for cheering me up!!! I really needed it today!!!

I hope it's right there but i just don't see it till it pops up!!

My fiance is coming to Japan next month so at least I have something that I know for sure is coming true (L)

  10. I think Michael calling would be a good thing. He's likely to get 3 different answers all from the same person but you never know one of them might be something you want to hear. He can ask whether your case has been assigned for adjudication yet. If it hasn't then no one will have even looked at what you do for a living so that panic can wait a while, if it has then it means it is sitting on someone’s desk waiting and you are due an update soon maybe?

    Hi guys-

I tried calling USCIS yesterday because now I am starting to worry because it seems like only April approvals are coming out this week and my case hasn't even been touched in 2 and a half months. I know sometimes the date order jumps around slightly, but it's been over two weeks now since others with my same NOA1 date were mostly approved. Anyway, I managed to get a person on the line, which was not easy, but they gave me zero information other than that which I already knew. I asked if my case had been assigned for adjudication, but she couldn't answer me one way or the other. Does anyone know how I can get someone on the line who can answer that question??? Also, I've read in other places that people can actually get a hold of someone working at the service center where their case is. Does anyone know how in the world we can do that??

I know it's probably a futile effort to try to get someone on the phone who can tell me anything about my case, but I just can't help but try!! I never expected it to be mid-July and STILL have no idea what's going on... SO frustrating...

Hi, I know how that feels....My case was filed on March 31, 2008 and was only touched once on April 21, 2008.

I see no updates or touches on my case online! I am going CRAZY about not being able to see the love of my life

and I cannot focus on work because of this situation!!! I really wish that people at USCIS could understand

what it is like to be apart from the ones that they truly love for months and months without seeing each other.....

I know I see all those April filers starting to receive their NOA2 and it really really makes me worry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I have to be patient and remember you are not the only one that has not heard anything from USCIS.

If you hear anything from USCIS please let me know.

I wish both of us NOA2 :innocent: lol

  11. S&D--Could you fix your timeline? You need a date that you mailed in your petition. Then you would have predicted approval date range. Also more data helps with those predictions and with Igor's list.

lizamaki--Make a timeline. It helps everybody.

    :time:

Thank you for letting me know that more date helps predictions :wow: !!

I wish I remembered exactly when my petition was mailed in....

I have to ask my fiance as he is the one that actually does all the mailing.

I will fix it when I find out more about it!!!!!

  12. I am very thankful for those who posted comments. I felt very encouraged :star: !!

I guess I was overreacting and being whiny about the situation.

Just to know that we are not the only couple was a great help, though!!!!

    Thanks guys!!!!

Every time when I see a new couple that receives NOA2 on Immigration Timelines,

it was pretty depressing, and yeah, it is like being in a blackhole!!!

I don't see the end of this!!! I am sure this is how it feels to most of the couples.

Plus, I hear about some very unfortunate cases due to USCIS error or something else,

I cannot help but think "what if we are one of those cases..."

I guess this is what every couple has to get through.

  13. Hi, everyone.

Is it normal for USCIS to take nearly 3 months to update/"touch" a case of I-129F?

My American fiance and I have filed our I-129F and received our NOA1 dated on March 31, 2008.

My account at USCIS website shows that our case was touched on April 21, 2008.

However, it has not been updated/touched since then.

I see that majority of those couples who received the NOA1 of the same date as ours or even

later than our NOA1 have already received their NOA2s.

I imagine this nightmare feeling that has been wearing on me and my fiance is something

that many of you guys here have been through  . But I really need some encouraging information

if any of you guys here could provide us!!

    Is our situation normal ??

What can we do to make sure that USCIS will process our case eventually??

If they are going to process our case eventually but FOR SURE, I can deal with it.

But what really scares me is the possibilty that our case is just left unnoticed and is never gonna be processed...

Please provide us with any information or advise that might help.

    Thank you in advance.

  14. I am not sure how much this would help you feel better but at least your case was touched again in July,

I am assuming that it should be more encouraging than our case.

Our NOA1 was issued on March 31st 2008 and our case was only touched on April 21, 2008.

It has not been touched since then.

My job is nothing like governmental. Neither is my American fiance's...

I am so scared to think what if something wrong is going on with our case,

or our case is being left unnoticed....

Each case is different but I wish you the best.

  15. I just got off the phone with Amy...she says we got our NOA2 approval notice in email this afternoon. Woohoo!!! I haven't gotten any notices as to what the next step is....I sure am happy that we get to proceed with no RFE's though. Seems Amy knew my dads real name before I did. Good thing she is doing most of the paper work or I would have put his wrong name down. lol Oh and I finally got my long form birth certicicate in the mail too...who knew there was a long form one? *shrugs*

congratulations! and this is encouraging for me and my fiance to know!!!!

The date of our NOA1 is March 31st 2008 and our latest "touch" was on April 21st 2008 still....

It looks like majority of the people who received their NOA1 on the same date

already received their NOA2 so I am getting worried. wish me luck!!
