  1. My mother-in-law (green card)petitioned his over age son back in 2008. Then he had his girlfriend pregnant and now has 2 kids but didnt got married. Does my mother in law need to update the petition so the 2 kids will be included?

Also, when he gets here, how is he going to petition his girlfriend and other 2 kids from previous relationship? How long and what are the requirements? Thanks in advance!

  2. yeah i showed them my employment authorization card and i told them i will be having my AOS interview on monday. the lady told me that if teh greencard arrived first than my ssn then i could go back there and show it to them to make the process faster.

i think its redundant for them to check again to the federal since i already showed them my EAD in my married name. this immigration process gives me headache lol. being bored at home makes me crazy!

  3. so i received my Employment authorization card and went ahead to get my SSN. after the hgours of waiting, the lady told me that they need to verify it to the federal state and it may take 12 weeks to get it. does anyoen had the same experience?

This because you waited until after you got married and you changed your name. K-1s are eligible immediately for an SSn and should get one immediately in their MAIDEN name, exactly as it is on the passport. That way you HAVE the number when your get the EAD and when they go through their convulsions over the name change. The number never changes.

If I am wrong and you did NOT change your name, then go back to the SS office and ask to see a supervisor that knows what they are doing. A k-1 with no name change should get an SSN immediately. My wife got her number 16 hours after she arrived and had the card in the mail 6 days later

was she already allowed to work after getting an ssn after arriving here in the us?

  4. so i called service canada just now. i am here in canada on a work visa but i pay ei and the other stuffs that a canadian pays. i asked the lady if i will bable to be grant a claim and she said that i she cant give me an answer until i filed for a claim.

    this is her instruction:

    1. file for a claim online when you're already in the usa.

    2. fax a copy of ROE from canada and any document from the usa that says i am able to work e.g. greencard, ead blah blah..

    questions:

you file for ead after you get married right? and then wait for 3months or so to get it?

you should file a claim for EI within 30 days of your last employment?

so how can i give them an ead if it will take me longer time to wait for that than filing an ei?

    sorry for the confusion!

  5. congrats chadlaure!

i booked my flight today for May 23. my question is, will my K1 be activated in Pearson airport?

aircanada has good deals. i got mine for 375cad including one additional bag.

Congrats! Yes it will, Pearson does preclearance so be sure to go VERY early!! It may take a little while, depending on how busy it is that day. Where are you moving to Francie?

im movin to california! arrive very early as in arrive 4 hours before the departure? are there officers that do the preclearances 24hrs? there was a cheaper flight at 8am but i was thinking nobody will be there to do my K1 lol.so i got one at 8pm. il make it sure that im there at 4pm.

  6. we talked a lot of stuffs while waiting, he said he will be moving to hawaii. i heard his fiancee's name like there is LEE in the end. there's this one couphele on the list of the interviewees yesterday as josef and lee. maybe that's them. good to hear that he was approved as well!

huggle, the woman after you, we were on the same train on our way to montreal so i was surprise that she was having interview too. then while waiting for the train on the way back to toronto i bumped into her on the central station and asked her if the interview went well and she said yes.we were in the same train again. what about the other lady before you, with her mom, u said she is vjer too. did her interview went good as well?

  7. lol i wasnt able to sleep the whole nyt so i got out of bed at 5am and i was ready at 6. i stayed in omni mont royal which is a little far from the consulate so i decided to go early so i can still grab a cup of coffee. im not canadian, im only here in canada on work permit so i was so much worried that they will take our case differently, which they did not!

i forgot to ask the name of the guy next to me. if he can read this, im so sorry for lying! he asked me if i read visa forums or a member of it.i said i read sometimes but im not a member. i wasnt 100% sure that i will be approved thats y its one of the reason that i was so shy to introduce myself to u. message me on pm coz i dont know what was the result of your interview.

anyway, i was the only one i think who brought bunch of papers and proofs of relationship which the consul didnt even asked me to show it so the TIFF recycable bag just sat on the chair in the corner of the interview room.

hugglebubbles - when i was finish at the interview, i returned to my sit and the guy next to me asked if im waiting for anything, and i said nothing but my knees are shaking thats y i decided to sit. lol!

  8. Here are some documents that we are thinking on bringing as well (just in case)

    - Letter employment from me (since I am in Canada under a work visa, maybe they would like to check my legal status here as well and have proof that I’m still working there)

    - US Citizen birth certificate

    - DS 230 Part 2

    - Copies of original filing of I-129F

    - X-Ray

where can i find that ds230 part 2? is that really needed? we submitted the part 1 with the packet 3 right?

do we really need to provide the last 3 yrs of tax transcripts and w2?

  9. got this morning my medical result. in my vaccination documentation sheet, theres a check on the box right below the table that says, "application may be eligible for blanket waiver as indicated above" and another box checked which says "applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver because vaccination not medically appropriate."
