  1. Ok I've been looking over documents and I'm sorta freaking out.

It says he needs to have evidence of support for the interview AND he has to send in evidence of support as well...with the four forms he has to fill out. I only sent with him one copy of the evidence. I didn't know this until now. Will copies be ok to send in with the forms or should I send him another original? Thanks!!

And also the forms require evidence of engagement. Is that just the evidence of our ongoing relationship...or does he need like a receipt for a ring or something...cause we don't have that! My mom gave him her diamond reset in white gold to give to me (which I thought was soo sweet and a total surprise to me!) Thanks for your help guys! I just wanna do it all right the first time.

Stephanie, it depends what originals you're talking about. You need to send him the I-134 notorized so yes, that needs to be an original. NZ asked that Russell supply them with his CV/Resume and that was the first i've heard of that being requested. Not sure what other kinds of 'support' they would want to see from him except maybe bank account balances? It's not like he's keeping a job! Best to check with others who have dealt with that Consulate. ;)

I'm pretty sure the evidence of engagmement is your ongoing relationship proof. Not everyone wears an engagement ring.

Thanks Kim! I will send him another original set of the support documents. :) Just to be safe.

  3. Well Nick loves it here and says it's more laid back, friendly, and easy going than where he is in the UK. I guess you Yankees in Boston and NY are a different lifestyle. You know, we're all country bumpkins here in Texas. We talk slower too, often making a one syllable word into two syllables. hahaha. Example: Kim would be Kee-um. Ok, I exaggerate, that would be in Georgia and Mississippi--the Deep South.

Luis will catch up to speed. What a change....NY, Suzy, twins!!!! Hang on to your hat Luis. You are in for one wild ride.

We do the two syllable words here in Alabama too. :) Gareth calls me his little Redneck! LoL! As for Alabama, he LOVES it here! He had to get used to our summer heat, but once he did he was fine. He was in the pool 99% of his time here. Of course the day he leaves it hasn't been above 90 since. Like I said though he loves it here. Things are kind of tough in England so he says that he can have a better life here and he'll be with me. :) So he's excited!

  4. Oh and I was wondering is there PDFs of the paperwork that comes in Packet three here by any chance? I wanna have what he has in front of me so we can "fill them out together" ya know? And so we can make sure he doesn't miss anything. Thanks!!

    Stephanie

Stephanie--I have the whole London Packet 3 scanned and it's the April 08 version. It includes medical info and form too. I have to "share" it with you using an email address...preferable a hotmail, msn or windows live mail account. Otherwise they may make you sign up or something. It's on MSN Sky drive. If you want it, PM me with an email. The 4 forms he will fill out are online.

London was not interested in my bank statements. The 2007 tax return and letter from employer was all they wanted from me.

Thanks for this info! I messaged you. I'm glad to see that's all they wanted because my mom is the co-sponser and she sent those two things and a copy of her property taxes. I hope that will be plenty. Mom is way over the 125% level...and I'm glad for that. Being a student...I'd never be able to get him over here!

  5. #2 Total amount deposited for the past year

My bank called me saying "this is difficult to do and will take a lot of time since we need to review each of your past statements". Meh.....whatever....time for a new bank LOL

They are gonna send it next week :)

Yeah it took my bank about a week to get the letter for me. It was dated the 8th and I didn't get it in the mail until the 12th! I wanted to go a head and have EVERYTHING for Gareth before he left. That was the only thing I had to mail though. He should be getting packet three sometime next week.

Hope you get approved soon Suzy!!

  6. congrats to the new approvals! back in the states without my honey :( so hate all this! did the whole cry like a baby at the airport and hormones really don't help out much! had a miserable trip home because of the bad storms on the east coast yesterday! didn't get home til 3:30 this morning, the same time graham was catching his flight to london for his medical exam! one step closer!!! it was so nice to see him for the week and for him to see the bump (which i think doubled in size cause of his moms cooking lol) but so hard to leave again! not much longer i hope at least! fingers crossed for everyone to get approvals and have their SO's back in their arms where they belong! (L)

I did the same thing! It's so frustrating to have to separate! I haven't been as bad as last time because he had to go back to do his thing to be here forever. He told me just think of it like I'm taking a business trip for a couple of months and I'll be home soon. :)

Hope the pregnancy is going well!

And hope to see more approvals!

    Stephanie

  7. Hey everyone!

Took Gareth to the airport yesterday and his flight has landed in England this morning. Haven't heard form him yet but I will soon.

It was sad and I cried but not as much as last time because he's going back to finish this process up and get back here for good. :) Can't wait for that!

I'm about to call the NVC to see if our case got there and see about when Packet three will arrive.

    Congrats on the approvals!

  8. So guess what? I got my RFE in the mail & it was that stupid question. I have to check "NO" sign it and mail it back. No biggie.

    BIG relief.

I'll be sending it out next day LOL

    Hey Suzy!!

As to your first question, my mom's side is great with it! They all love Gareth!! It was my mom who told us about the K1 Visa thing...I didn't know about it. As for my dad, he likes Gareth, and we went to his family reunion this past weekend and they all love him, but they don't know that he's coming in on a fiancé Visa...we just talked about it as a Visa at the reunion. And as far as they know we're legally getting married in May. It is just easier that way with my dad and his family. We're afraid he'd say something like you mentioned before...that he's just marrying me to stay here. Dad is just blah like that. So to keep the peace and make things go smooth...that's how we roll on that one. ;)

And I'm glad to see you got your RFE in the mail...hope it goes quickly! And it means my hard copy should be here soon since we were touched and issued our things the same day. We've just about got everything together that he needs, just gotta get that copy of the NOA2. I hope it comes soon!!

    Good luck everyone!

    Stephanie

  9. So I checked my application, I didn't fill that out, like I thought.

    I'm a dingbat.

No snail mail either yesterday for me. I hope it comes today.

How's everybody doing this fine Wednesday morning? LOL

I'm sitting at work moping that I have to work on Sunday against my will.

I'm trying to get all this stuff that I'm supposed to send to Gareth together BEFORE he leave. That will save the mailing it to him time. This is sooo stressful! I want to do everything right the first time! Ah!

    Stephanie

  10. Kim ~ I'm there, consider me a member.

Stephanie ~ I know, I liked weight watchers. The problem is both sides of my family are crazy - have you ever seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Well I'm not greek, but the mother in that movie is my grandma greekified. Shes actually Italian but you get my jist.

"You want something to eat?" says Grandma

    "No thanks." says Suzy

"Ok I'll make you something." says Grandma

I hope you get approved soon Steph!

KornyHiv ~ So I just got a gazelle, someone gave it to me who doesn't use it . I don't have time, money or a babysitter to go to the gym, so I will do that after my kids fall asleep at night or really early in the morning. I also have a track across the street from me. I just have to fit time in. Full time school, full time work & kids is hard. I'm lucky I have enough time to do the basic stuff. Eating well is something I can do, I know I can I just have to try harder to avoid all the crappy junk that is around and start eating better.

I'm going crazy checking the USCIS site. Somebody punch me.

Yes I understand! My grandma did the cooking around here and she cooked a lot!! And Good stuff too! But she just moved so now it's just me, mom and my sis until she goes to school on Aug 9th and Gareth leaves the 11th. So when it's just mom and me, we'll usually eat Smart Ones. So it will be a lot easier! I hope to have lost at least 25 lbs before Gareth gets back for good. :)

I've turned him into a regular farm boy! A side of bacon and a settin of eggs in the morning and now he's out on the tractor mowing the field! LoL! He likes doing that for some reason! But that's good! My mom told me that I'm the only one in the family that found a good guy...that actually helps around the house and yard. :)

Oh and we're going to a family reunion this weekend...on my dad's side...Gareth is nervous! He'll like it I think though. Hope he's prepared for all the ohhh Congrats! How did you meet? When is the wedding...ohhh Say something and let me hear your accent! LoL!

    Stephanie

  11. LOL ohh so you have been doing all that Pamela Lee and Paris Hilton stuff, eh? SCANDALOUS, Kim, just scandalous.

So I'm going on a diet! I'm not too excited about it, being that I have to give up my dunkin donuts iced coffee regimen. Any tips for me? I want to look good by the time I get married, lol. By good I don't mean J-Lo good, I mean size 12 good. haha

I'm going on a diet too! I am trying to do it now but Gareth is here and he loves his homecooked breakfasts...and I can't help but eat when I cook all that. So I'm gonna try to start soon though. Weight Watchers is great! It works and you don't get hungry. :) School is starting back in a month and I start a job at movie Gallery part tiem the day after Gareth leaves. It will give me something to do to pass the tiem...and have a bit more money rolling in. And I won't look completely lazy when I do the Support papers. Mom is still co sponsoring though.

Congrats on all the approvals! And Suzy I hope you get approved soon cause my NOA1 is the day after yours...May first...so I could be considered May as well...but I technically "filed" in April...so yeah.

I'm sooo anxious!! I'm ready to get this ball rolling!!

    Stephanie

  12. Hi all!!

Gareth is here finally! Customs was a pain, but he got through it ok. I was afraid that would happen...just to make me panic! But it's cool now. Then there was bad weather and his flight was delayed about three hours. Then this morning I found out the weather wasn't the only reason. There was a bomb threat on one of the planes in the airline he was flying with! :o Not his but still...I'm so glad I didn't know that while I was waiting at the airport. Beyond panicked is what I would have been!

But all is well now...he's still sleeping after the long and treacherous flight. :) He's here for a month and we can await the approval together. :) He's a bit nervous though because he's meeting a lot of family this time. :) He'll be ok though. :)

Hope to see some approvals soon!!

    Stephanie

  13. Congrats on the approval!!

I have good news as well...not an approval but just as good!! Gareth is coming for a visit on the 9th!! My birthday! What a present!! Hopefully we'll be approved while he's here. :) After not being able to talk to him for a month because he didn't have a phone or computer...to him being here in two days...wow...it's great!!

Hope to see some approvals soon!!

  14. I know how you feel. Last time I came back from US after visiting my fiance I stayed in bed and cryed for 2 days. I think I can give myself 2 days. But after that is getting up and back to your life, trying to enjoy family, friends and everything else you´ll miss about your country. I know it´s hard now and all I could think was who cares about the beach, I just want to stay with him, wherever! But it´ll get better. And soon enough I know I´ll be crying about missing Brazil! (Can´t wait for that to happen!)

I know the feeling!! I cried on and off for about a week after Gareth left! I still tear up every now and then when I'm really missing him. I cry myself to sleep some nights. Even Gareth admitted to crying on the plane when he left. And every once and a while he'd be telling me how depressed he was because he wasn't here and I could hear that he was crying...he didn't admit it though. :( I miss him sooo much and I hope he can come for a visit for my birthday! Maybe we'll be approved while he's here and can celebrate together! :) I try to think about things like that so as to not be upset with the long wait. :)

    Congrats on the approval!! :)

  15. I'm sure we all have funny stories because of different stuff in different countries. For instance, when Gareth was here he'd always go to the wrong side of the car, thinking the driver's side was the passenger's. After he did this a few times he started to remember where he was and do it correctly so just to mess with him I'd go to the passenger's side so he'd go to the driver's automatically. It was great and we both got some good laughs out of it. Also, we had a lot of huh's and what's because of my southern accent and his Liverpool accent -- especially when he talked to my sister or mom...it was great! He got used to the southern drawl quickly though. :star:

  16. We're planning on having a real white dress, bridemaids, goomsmen, family and friends wedding after I graduate in May...so far I have May 23rd in mind. We hope to be approved sometime in July and hopefully have the visa in hand sometime in October....if all things so smooth. What we'll do is after Gareth gets here, we'll just pick one day after my classes(since I will still be in school then) to go to the courthouse and get legally married...and we can start the AOS and work permit(still cant remember the acronym for it lol) paperwork. Then the wedding will be in May.

We gotta make it seem "normal" as some say because some of my family (my dad and his side mainly) won't really get/possibly shun the fact that we did a K1 Visa. Sucks that we have to "pretend" but it's easier to just not hear their comments. The people who matter the most (my mom and her side and his family) have no problem and my mom is as anxious as I am for the approval.

An a May wedding will give me more time to plan... :)

  17. Hi! I have a question! I was just wondering an exact amount, or a very close estimate, that my fiancé will need at his interview at the London Embassy...in pounds. I've read places 131 but I've never been sure if it was GB pounds or US dollars. We are a little ways aways from the interview, hopefully in October, but I'd like to know so we can determine if he will have enough money at the time, or if we'll have to make arrangements to send money or whatever we need to do. Thanks so much!!

    Stephanie

Oh and sorry if this has already been answered on here, but I didn't have time to look through the 150 odd pages! LoL! :)

  18. Your fiance will have to pay $131 at the embassy when he has his interview. As per the current exchange that's around GBP 66.

Check out the UK forum. I'm sure someone there can give you more detailed information.

I hope you'll have a speedy and smooth journey!!! :star:

Thanks! I will do that! The $131 is what was confusing me cause I read that some where but I didn't know if they typoed and meant 131 GB pounds instead of dollars, or meant actual US dollars. Thanks for clearing that up!

    Stephanie
