  1. Hi guys - are any of you in the states already?

My husband and I got married last year and I submitted my I-130 earlier this month. I just got a notice of receipt. I'm getting nervous though because it sounds like I should have filed the I-485 at the same time? I thought the step was to file the I-130 first and then file the I-485 once that went through. I'm a USC but my husband is F-1. I just don't want to have to deal with him having to leave the US as I'm pregnant and it would be a huge stress on our family. Any words of wisdom would be helpful. Thanks!

Since you s.o. is already in the States on a F1 you are in a totally different position than normal CR-I filer.

All y'all need is Adjustment of Status. Sorry, since I am doing the CR-I from the beginning, I don't know anything about adjusting the status. Maybe you can use the search and can get some useful information.

  2. OMG, somehow I signed up for online/cellphone updates with the wrong case number. After I got it from my husband (he doesnt have fast internet), I signed up online. Somehow I must have put an 8 instead of a 4. Today, we got a message and wanted to check online and recognized I put in the wrong number. As soon as I recognized this happened, I tried to go to the uscis site and logged in. In my portfolio I wanted to get rid of the old WAC number and put in the right one. But it always says internal error. What can I do? I didnt do this on purpose!!! Any suggestions?

  3. Hey!

We started the CR-I process this months.

Now, my husband decided to give up his job and come to Germany for a year. I dont want to stopp the process right now because I am afraid something will happen and he wont stay for 6 months so that we can do the DCF instead.

If he really found an awesome job I could see him staying here for longer than a year (maybe 2 years?). Would it be possible to fly to the States when I get the visa in the end and then get a reentry permit?

    What would you recommend?

There is so much I have to get ready right now so I would really be happy about any help I can get!!!

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Hello,

I originally posted this on K-3 forum but from previous feedback it seems the best way to go is just with the I-130. I'm a US citizen (originally born in Lima Peru) living in the NY area and I'm marrying my fiancee next week (Jan 15th 2010) in Lima Peru. I wanted to get feedback on what I'm looking at in terms whats the process like and more importantly how long it takes before she's able to come to the US. I've not seek legal counsel yet but its an option I'm considering.

I figure my case its pretty standard, both of us are in our 30's and have never been married or have any children. We have a clean criminal/immigration record. But after going through the I-130 guide website I see some issues with "Evidence" of marriage. We don't have any kids together and we haven't lived or co-mingle our finances yet since we're living apart. All I can think of is generating affidavits from relatives attesting to of our engagement and our marital intentions. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again and best of luck to all.

Maybe she can also put you on her bank account when you are in Lima. That's what my husband and I did. We have a joint bank account in the States and in Germany. Plus pictures, affidavits etc as said before.

  5. she'll need a seperate I-130 (yer 16 year old lass )

You can make ONE filled out form , one page, for the G-325A, NOT SIGN IT, then make copies, sign the 4 copies in blue ink .

    Good Luck !

I am confused, now. My husband is about to send out the package, today and last month I asked if I really needed four copies of the G325A. There, it said I didnt need four copies and that just one would be enough!!! Also, I couldnt find anything about four copies on the uscis site. Does anyone know?
