  1. This is yet another example of incorrectly using the RFE trick. If your last updated date on the Case Status Online hasn't changed, there is no point in calling and trying this. It is not suprising to me that the service centers are now catching on to this as kitty loves moudi stated that VSC now knows about it. When not used correctly, the rfe trick does more harm than good.

The below quote was meant for this response, not the for Hohoho.

You may be right but people are doing this because they are desperate. I know how that feels, i am in teh same boat. It took 2 and a half years for my citizenship to clear because of a name check backlog, now i am stuck again. You cannot understand how it feels until you are in the same boat. Your paperwork is stuck and not being processed and your husband, wife, child, parent, whatever is apart from you. I dont' need to look at your timeline to figure out that you are not in the same boat as us who have been waiting for a long time. I know that i wont be trying this trick again but i can surely understand why people would continue doing it.

  2. Did you stress the fact that the 6 months deadline is up and that still nothing has happened. To explain: USCIS says that they will do everything possible in order to get cases approved within 6 months. And even though there is all this back up emphasizing this did help my hubby and I when our 6 months deadline was up in February. We called on the day of the 6 months deadline and just kept on pressing that matter. BUT we were very polite about it while still being persistent that the regulations still apply and that we were very surprised what was going on. About 2 days later we had a touch and about another 2 days later we were approved. But there are no guarantees. And especially we did file after the date that USCIS still has posted on their website.

I think the PRE 8/1 world and post 8/1/07 world are 180 degree differences.

They've abandoned that timeline. The don't look into your case and they are more unwilling to even speak to you.

  3. I don't think it's going to do me any good. She refused to tell me where my case is. She said that they are working on July 30th cases. I told her that i have seen cases approved that were sent in after mine, she said she cannot tell me about those cases only about mine. She seemed irritated that i called. She said that line was for problems only. She said my case had not been reviewed yet though. I really didn't gain anything from that except to speak to an officer who wouldn't help. I think i will try again and see if i get a guy. Guys are usually more help, since i am a female. :innocent:

  4. I'm presuming you have an NOA1 date of December/January .... this is the important date.

Vermont are processing albeit slow .... but hopefully you'll get your NOA2 soon as they are processing those with December/January NOA1's.

Hopefully they'll speed up soon as the gap between CSC and VSC is getting larger by the week.

Currently we're seeing VSC approving about 2 non-expedited cases every couple of weeks on this site and that's quite painful.

There are a couple of cases which date back to July as an application date, but there are not many of those. The bulk of December NOA1's appear to be done, so it's just a case of waiting, unless you fall under the expedite critera.

My date is November 15th and the last time my case was touched was February 23rd. no updates since. Nothing.

Question. I heard someone talk about the RFE trick when wanting to speak to an immigration officer, do you know what that is.

  5. Hi,

I am in the same boat as you except June 9th is my first anniversary. I know how you feel. It's going to be a year on June 2nd since l last saw my husband and that was just a week after we got married. Is it Vermont Service Center? I have written to the Director. Maybe you should too. Let's get together and write some letters.

  6. Thank you all for being so friendly and welcoming. I have gone through one backlog when my citizenship took 2 and a half years. I have already begun writing letters. I just cannot go through this again. I think if we all join together and start writing letters of concern it can make a difference.
