  1. Married Sep 2008.

    I 751 due April 9, 2011.

I'll make it short and sweet~ I am the USC but I want to divorce my husband. We just can't seem to work out our differences. I haven't filed for divorce yet nor have I moved out of our apartment.

What options does he have to be able to get his 10 year residency... I don't want him to be deported - I want him to be able to fix his status here, but I can't handle this marriage any longer.

    Please help..

  2. Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to update that Jorge and I just had our AOS interview and have been approved. The interview lasted about 10-15 minutes. The questions very silly and very basic. Nothing to fear. It went well.

They let us know that the next step was for us to file a form 3 months prior to the expiration date of the green card that will come in the mail in about 3 weeks.

The interviewer was very kind. We had a great experience. Thanks Visa Journey!!

  4. Hello-

We just received our appointment letter for Nov. 28 concerning AOS and EAD...

1.) Do I, the USCitizen, have to attend?

2.)Are we supposed to proof something?

3.) Why are they taking his finger prints again if they did so in Ciudad Juarez?

4.)What the heck should we bring? All it says is to bring proper ID and the letter of invitation.

5.) How long after the interview does he normally get the EAD?

*** We are going to Spokane Washington

    Any help! :)

    Thanks

  5. Hello everyone!

This is the farthest behind I have seen this forum!! :(

I hope everyone is doing well.

So far we have our NOA for the EAD, AOS, And Authorization to visit Mexico.....i forgot the real name of it!

I will get on later tonight and post my pics. I still have no internet at home so it's difficult for me to get on.

School is almost done for the quarter and winter weather is just around the corner.

    Good luck everyone!! :)

  6. Hello everybody!

I am happy to see all the good news that has been happening in this thread!! Lot's of good stuff. I hope everybody has a fun and safe halloween! :innocent:

So far we have sent in our AOS Packet and all that good stuff. Jorge has his SSN already. He is kind of frustrated because he is bored. I have a very busy schedule so it's hard for us to spend a lot of time together throughout the day. He is doing some side duties with his uncle and some friends of mine and my dad. It's not much but every little bit helps. :) Everything is going great. :) I will have to post some pictures of the day we got married. We did it through the court first. Hopefully in the spring we will have a nicer wedding.

    Love you guys!

    Maria

    Take care.

  7. Well, we FINALLY have an interview date. He goes October 16.....

We did indeed decide to send a second packet 3, which they received on Thursday. It was the strangest thing....all night tonight (thursday night/friday morning), I have not been able to sleep for some reason. It is 4am here, and I had just been catching up on reading different posts here on VJ.

All of a sudden, my aol email "man" says YOU'VE GOT MAIL....When I checked my email, it was from the London Consular Office stating that they received our documents yesterday, and that an interview has been scheduled for October 16, and that my fiance will be receiving a letter confirming it.

I was in TOTAL SHOCK. It was like a miracle. I pray all of the time, but this was totally surreal, because it happened before my very eyes, while sitting at the computer hoping, wishing, dreaming and praying :) and there it came!

I immediately called Taiwo, who was already at work (5 hours ahead of my time). I told him the good news, and it seemed as if I could hear him shout for joy from my window....5,000 miles away!

Well, I think I better try to get a few hours sleep (yeah, right)..Just wanted to share the good news.

And by the way, apparently they DID NOT receive the first packet 3 we sent to them an entire MONTH ago (even though we have a post office confirmation that they did receive it). We have been waiting all this time stressed to the MAX.

So, now all of a sudden I have to rush and prepare to go to London in less than 2 weeks time.

VJ is the best therapy around! It has kept me sane thus far. Now, on to the next phase. I sure will be happy when ALL of this is over, but that won't be for a few years.....:)

YES!!!!!!! That's great Stevi!!!! I hope everything goes well for you and the interview!!!! I will have you in my prayers. :)

I hope everyone is doing great!!! I still think about all of you, even if I don't show up here that much. It's been very busy since Jorge has gotten here. We found our new apartment and are moving on Tuesday. Long story! We are very excited about it. We bought our dishes today!! HAHA

    Take care everyone :) :) :) :) :) :)

  8. Hello-

We have recently gotten married in the US through a K1 visa....

Now we are in the process of filing for the AOS, EAD, etc.

The instructions say in the guides that the affidavit of support needs to be included in the packet. I have previously sent one in for Jorge's interview...but that was with my information as "single." Do I need to re-type another one as "married?" Does it need to be notarized, if so? Does that go for all of the other documents as well i.e. the G325 A which was sent in my original I 129 F packet.

    Thanks in advance!!

    ~Maria

  9. Hello All~

So far it's been great having Jorge around. We are having a rough time finding an apartment that is suitable for our needs and affordable. We are having this tough time because a lot of people don't like the fact that he doesn't have an SSN.... so they hink we are suspicious, even if we show the visa. Jorge has been looking around since I work. I also started school on Monday OY OY OY Stress stress stress!

We may even get married this Saturday!!! We are going through the court first, and we are planning to have a VERY nice ceremony/reception in the spring of 2009.

I hope everybody is doing great :)

    Take care!

Sorry I am so busy with so much stuff. My head is going to explode.

  10. :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Hello~ Well Jorge is here with me!! YAY! We are taking the weekend to go somewhere out of town and have a romantic get away. I'm not sure where yet, but we will find a place tonight. :)

We need it. We both feel overwhelmed by it all, and i think we could use the couple days to spend together.

No apartment yet. He fell in love with that one though.... so far it's winning... but it's too much!!!!!!!!!!

    :)

    Have a great weekend everybody!!!

  11. Hello All:

So... I'm pretty sure Angel's got everything he needs to take to his interview. However, if someone wouldn't mind looking over it just to make sure I'm not missing something important, I would really really appreciate it.

Here's what he's got or what I will be sending him soon:

    -NOA2 (Original + copy)

    -Invitation letter

-Angel's passport (+ copy of the front page)

    -Original I-129F

    -Angel's Birth Certificate (+ copy)

    -My Birth Certificate (+ copy)

    -Unsigned DS-156 (+ copy)

    -Unsigned DS-156 K (+ copy)

    -DS-157 (+ copy)

    -CDJ Form 402 Unsigned

-Letter stating why I am not there with him and my letter of intent to marry him

    -2 X 2 passport photos of Angel

    -Credencial de elector (+ copy)

    -My I-134 Form

Including: Supplement stating that I am a full-time student and therefore don't yet have a full-time job. I included a chart of the 4 part-time jobs I have. I also included an enrollment certificate from my university. 3 years of tax transcripts, and a letter from my bank with information about my accounts.

    -My parents I-134 Form

Including: 3 years of tax returns, my mom's W2s, Letter from my mom's employer, Letter from bank with information about her accounts

(Because my parents file taxes together, I had both of my parents fill out an I-134. I don't know if that's the best way to handle it. Let's hope it's ok.)

-Evidence of ongoing relationship- pictures, letters, emails, copies of packages, my flight itineraries, record of phone card I buy to call Mexico, and more...

Then he will have his Banamex receipt and medical results.

Now... he doesn't have to get a police certificate, or does he? I was under the impression that it wasn't necessary, but now I'm concerned that he should have gotten that a while ago. He's never committed any crimes, so he has no record with the police. Also, he does NOT have to fill out the DS-230, does he?? I've seen people post about that form, so that worried me too.

Thanks for your help everyone! I just want to make sure that he has everything he needs. He won't be going until late October, but I just want to try and calm my nerves a bit and reassure him he's got everything.

    GRACIAS!!!!

    Caity

Caity- Jorge did take a police certificate with him. They did ask for it. It also needed to be translated.... It took him about 2 weeks to get it too.... He had to go to Toluca?? to get it.....

I also didn't submit a letter for why I couldn't show up. They didn't even ask him. But the more the better! That's for sure!! \

    GOOD LUCK TO YOU!!!!

  12. Hello all- I know I asked this question before, but I'm going to ask it again as Maria and nm123 have recently gone through the interview. On the DS-156 when it asks for "National Identification Number" did your fiances leave it blank, or fill it in??

Maria- I hope that Jorge has safe travels tomorrow and everything goes smoothly. Enjoy it!!! I won't have internet access this weekend, but I hope to hear about it when I get back Monday :)

Take care everyone and have a great weekend!

    Caity

    Hello Caity-

I put N/A for Non applicable. Thank you for your hopes :) he will actually be arriving on Wednesday due to some other plans his mom had. I had my little b*tch fit over that... but oh well. I understand what he and his family is going through. it's hard to say good bye for mostly ever....

I was hoping he would come this weekend but it just won't work. his mom was planning a surprise party for sunday... After being upset for a few days, i now feel a lot better and understand it a lot better. I have to put myself in their shoes. Even though it is very hard to do that sometimes.... it's necessary. I had a really hard time dealing with that this time... but I managed ok and it'll work out. I am going to be married to him for ever...his family only has so little days left. So i do understand that. :) I just feel a lot of times that I give too much to people and i don't understand why some people can't give up things for me? I want to be selfish sometimes... but that's not me. So yea. it's a strange mental disturbance. i'm ok :) i had my tears.

Caity- did you guys decided on a sooner POE?

Have a nice weekend everyone :)

Hey jmmr, quick question, i read somewhere, and because i have read so much stuff on everything about the fiance visa, i can not remember where i read it, but anyway, what did jorge wear to the consulate for his interview? I read that your supposed to dress like really nice, like the works, suit, tie, the best that you can, did jorge do that? if not what did he wear so i can tell my fiance alfredo to do the same thing. (p.s about the jelousy thing that your experiencing with jorge and his family, i get that all the time, now i dont feel so crazy. I know how it feels to want him completely for you and it is very hard to get over. I doubt i will every completely get over it, but I am trying my best to control it. Its hard, so best of luck to ya

Hey thanks for that :) It's ok. It's hard when plans change in that way the last minute....but I can't do anything about it.... BUT i managed to get Wednesday off, which is when he will arrive. I told him that I can't get the day off so that I can surprise him with balloons :D We are even putting up a sign at our house that says "Welcome home" and we are having a BBQ to help him feel welcome :)

Jorge dressed very nice. Not a suit and tie but he wore clothes like if were to work at a professional office. He didn't wear a tie. You know? Someone mentioned to me to wear something like "if you were going to church." I think it was NM123. That's what I told him and he dressed up but not too fancy. Something nice. Definetly not jeans and flip flops.

Good luck to you and all of that!!! ;) It'll be over before you know it. We have been working on this since around November... I'm including the research process as well. So it actually went by quickly. :)

    Not too shabby!!

    Have a good week!
