  1. From my understanding there were never any issues - she was just approved
  2. Yes, she entered with visas all three times and even had a visa card valid for 10 years? She never had any issues with anything and we submitted this all to the lawyer.
  3. All of them would be tourism. I have no idea why the lawyer put that info as is considering we told them everything. Also would it be too late to try to contact the NVC? we only have two weeks until her appointment.
  4. Hello everyone, I’m looking for some help/information from people who’ve gone through an IR-5 (parent of U.S. citizen) interview in Ciudad Juárez, especially if you had to correct DS-260 mistakes at the interview. Here’s our situation: My mom has her immigrant visa interview coming up, and we realized there are a couple of inaccuracies in her DS-260 that were entered by our lawyer: Number of U.S. entries DS-260 says: 2 entries Reality: 3 entries (all on tourist visas) The third entry was disclosed during the process but wasn’t reflected in the final form She also no longer has the physical visa from that second entry (it’s old/lost) U.S. residence history (New York) DS-260 says she lived in NY continuously from 1996–2001 In reality, it was multiple stays: 1996–1998 1998–2001 2003–2015 So there’s a gap (2001–2003) that isn’t reflected and she did not live in ny from 1996-0201 I really want to avoid any chance of us getting denied since we've already been apart for five years now and i don't know what we'd do otherwise. Any help would be greatly appreciated. would we just clarify this? would they know all of her entries? or do we leave it as is and hope for the best?
  5. Hello friend. I saw your dates on Visa Journey and they were close to mine. I was wondering if you have received your visa interview date in Ciudad Juarez? If so, can you share with me the date you received the notification and the date of your interview. I'm tracking other petitioners who are waiting for appointments in Ciudad Juarez, and I like to share monthly news.

      Hello Josh,

I appreciate what you're working on - i actually posted an update in the thread :) but here is the timeline so far:

      1. Date you received notice from NVC that you are Documentarily Qualified (DQ'd) - March 03, 2025
      2. Date you received an interview assignment from NVC - 03/13/2026
      3. Date of your interview (if you have received an interview assignment)  - 04/20/2026

      Have a great Monday!

  6. She will be interviewing at Ciudad Juarez Mexico That's good to know and i do have the original and it's not incredibly cracked or anything just a little coffee stain from when they were moving haha.
  7. Hello everyone, I hope you're all doing well. I am making a post today to ask a question for any petitions from NY state or anyone that might be able to assist: My mother has finally received an interview date for April 20th of 2026 however, my "lawyer" today stated that my birth certificate would not be sufficient as it is not a "long form" document. I contacted vitachek for New York state and they stated it would be 150 days until they can even begin processing my request for a new one. I am currently panicking as we only have one month until the interview and i don't want to wait any longer than the three years we've already been working for this. I just don't understand why it wouldn't be sufficient as it was documentarily approved / qualified in the CEAC portal? Would anyone be able to provide information regarding this? (I have attached an example one i found on the internet that looks exactly like mine including my name, parents name, city, and registrar) Thank you all.
  8. Hello everyone, Update to my previous post Date you received notice from NVC that you are Documentarily Qualified (DQ'd) - March 03, 2025 Date you received an interview assignment from NVC - 03/13/2026 Date of your interview (if you have received an interview assignment) - 04/20/2026 I've run into a bit of a predicament however my friends, my "lawyer" has told me that my birth certificate is "not sufficient" for her interview and that it needs to be a "long form copy" for my mother. All i have and all my parents received at the time of my birth was a "certified transcirpt of birth" from the state of new york which does state my name, my parents names, the city and local registrar with a seal - would this not be sufficient ?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Hello @RSJRGT: You made a post on the thread for appointments in Ciudad Juarez recently. I just noticed that many people with DQ dates in February and march are announcing online that they received appointment notifications in the past 2 days. I wanted to check if you have received any e-mails from NVC

Still nothing here unfortunately. Would you be able to show me where they posted they had received interviews? Thank you for reaching out.

Everyone posts in Spanish. The key phrases you are looking for are "llego la cita" or "llegó la cita". Usually every month between the 20th and 30th you will see lots of posts with people announcing their happy news.

This year, I see people with DQ dates in January, February, and March of 2025 receiving appointments, but there are also people with January 2025 DQ dates who still report they are waiting.

Good news, we are getting close! Bad news, the process is opaque, and I don't understand why they start assigning appointments for some people in February and March when people from January are still waiting .
