  1. Thanks for Peyton Hillis! How's Quinn working out for ya'?

    peyton-hillis-brownjpg-3a8e11fa74c516ba_large.jpg

You are welcome. Dude's a stud. Do anything ask of him and then some. I would like to say that was the worse move Xanders/McDummy have made but I can't.

As far as Quinn, he'll be worth a 6th or 7th rounder when someone goes down. That whole trade was a power play/####### move.

  2. Raider fan too, right? Figured by the misuse of roman numerals... Leaf was a bust sure, but we sure made up for it in the 2001 draft, didn't we?

Actually a Bronco fan. Last time I checked 69 is still and has always been LXIX. If the sarcasm escapes you we can go SoCal BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAA it was a joke Dude. Did you really go 2001 draft? And still the class of '01 has how many rings? That's right Brees has one w/ the Saints. If it was a 10 key problem and you meant to hit the 4 in lieu of of the one again Eli has a ring and Phyllis has.... yes, a big mouth.

  3. BTW, how long has it been since the Chargers won the super bowl? Oh wait....

Oh, Oh I know this one, it was the one where Ryan Leaf was the MVP, what was that LXIX?

  4. Actually Al has had a very lucid and good offseason, and his whole debacle with Lane Kiffin is now starting to become clearer and appears to be a sound decision by Al. At least he's willing to spend money on the team and sign players. How are the Charger's holdout's doing?

Help me out. I thought the whole Kiffin debacle boiled down to Al demanding that Russell had to be the starter and Lane calling him JaCarcass?

  5. We had a successful interview today in spite of me. After compiling, sorting, punching, printing and worrying about the questions that would be asked and if I didn't take enough pictures and the fact that I left my last two months pay deposits at the house it would have been totally quick and easy if I would have just shut up.

We got there in time to see the end of what appeared to be a Stokes interview as the young lady what very quiet and nervous by the entry door and was called in after about 15 minutes of waiting and 10 minutes later she and what appeared to be her husband left with the IO stating "We'll get back with you".

Our IO lead us into the back office after taking ID's. After the swearing in and cell phone being placed in its own designated box IO started right in with Yi. After starting the questions he took the I-94 out of her passport and kept asking questions. I watched this and thought we were so easily in. First question to her was when did you get married. Of course she answered correctly and I tried to tell her she was wrong and gave some total BS date that I still don't know why I said that date. The pen to paper went into overdrive and the questions were on. I still don't know what I was thinking, or not thinking as the case may be. As Yi said I should have just sat there and looked pretty - funny after the fact.

    Questions all addressed to Yi:

When were you married? What city were you born in? Parents first names, individually. Do you have children together? Does your husband have children? Your first marriage? Are you currently working? What is your correct work? Do you have authorization to work? Took her EAD looked at it and kept it, a better sign after the first two minutes. The "Have you ever ...." questions. He mumbled one other one that I didn't hear but Yi did and she answered and I said something and he then asked me if she apply for me or what.

After this he shifted to me. Do you still work at the same place? He ask if I had children and if this was my first marriage. If I brought a copy of the divorce decree. I did make another copy and put it in my Spouse qualification folder. This will make the fourth copy of the decree that they have now. I added child support payment records. He spent very little time on this and then wanted to see the relationship material. Had it indexed from the deed to our house to the inital credit card accounts I had her on while she was still in China. He went over each one of these line by line. After this he said that he was approving the petition and he changed the date on his stamp, stamped her passport, stamped the 485 in the file and printed out a congratulations you are approved letter. I noticed the passport stamp did have IR6 on it but made sure to ask again that it was IR not CR and he pointed out the IR6 designation. Told him we would see him in 10 years and we left. I still don't know how I missed our wedding date.

  6. I wish I had good news for you guys, but...

I arrived at about 8:35, went through security and was seated for about 40 minutes before being called by the IO.

    Notice I said "I."

I had to take my husband to the hospital last night so he was unable to make it so I could not be approved today.

Our IO was very sweet, and she took the hospital record I brought and put in a reschedule request. She said it could take 2-3 weeks to receive the letter. She genuinely cared which was a nice surprise.

He is doing okay now, and atleast we weren't denied. I'll let you all know when the letter comes!

Sorry to hear that. As with everything related to this process you had your documented proof why he wasn't there.

    Hope he gets better soon.

Bump in the road is all.

  7. I haven't been home in a few weeks and was delighted to come home to the Interview letter! It turns out that it's been sitting there for around 2 weeks! (The notice date was July 23rd). Our appointment is set for Sept. 1st :) I'm so excited! Time to get organized!

Good for you young lady! I doubt that you'll have any problems.

  8. I can have people right letters saying we are together? Yes my wife is on my insurrance she has a card i can bring that matches mine? I have my 401k, don't know how i can add her though. Yes we have photo's every place we go to we take pictures just since it our first time.

As for mail my grandfather sends us letters saying Mr. and Mrs on it.

Get her established as beneficiary of any policy you can; life insurance, 401k, IRA, etc. We are in a similar boat as everything we do account wise is paperless so it's printout from the 'net. Your plan administrator should be able to help you with the 401k/insurance.

One thing I have to laugh about is the address. If you want to receive mail for her at your address buy something online from Victorias Secret. They send catalogs weekly and sell your name/address to other stores and she will receive alot of mail. Looks like you're on a tight time frame so if you buy something anywhere and have it shipped to her at your home it is a little proof.

  9. Congratulations, one of the scariest and most fun times of your life. Seeings how you just found out she was pregnant, you hopefully didn't just find out what caused it

Please remind her after some weight has been gained and the hot flashes start and she's uncomfortable and the uncertainty sets in, that it was you who stood up against all odds and made sure she was pregnant during the winter months and not the summer. You were only thinkng of her.

    Then run like hell

  10. Got so excited after the web changes at the USCIS page. We only had decision after the initial review button so I was holding out hope that the case would be transferred and adjudicated w/o interview. I knew that as a K-3 w/ 2+ years of marriage that would never happen but where are we w/o dreams.

Didn't bother to get mail until a little while ago and we have an interview scheduled for September 2. Never a touch or any movement since the day after biometrics.

  11. I was looking up case processing for AOS on the uscis.gov site and it showed that my local office is taking an average of 4 months. So I don't think we're going to hear anything until September or October. :(

Oh yes, the processing time tables and graphs. I remember watching these at the K-3 time and I am doing the same now. The one that makes me laugh is the "Updated" date will reflect sometime during the current month but the times are for 4-6 weeks prior as per the date above the table. Go to the volume graphs and try to get those numbers to work with the received, completed, awaiting customers etc.

I remember reading on VJ in '08 the write-up from the dude that worked at the Nebraska center. I think that what he confirmed was that at the end of the day it's still just another person doing the work. If all the I's and T's are correct and the money's been taken, the files in the correct format as requested will get completed faster. As much as everyone wants this process to be FIFO that's just not the case.

So they corrected a typo and have the file out, look at it and think it's pretty straight forward and you get a 797 and a date to talk to the locals. Now if you do a Pauly Shore and try a 747 I don't know if the potato people could handle that.

  12. It's officially been a week since our biometrics appointment and they haven't touched our case anymore. ClockWatch2.gif

Well at least it doesn't show they touched our case on the uscis.gov site. They could be working on it and not updating the site. We might be one of the ones that gets the "initial request for interview" letter out of the blue.

If we don't hear anything by the first week of August what should we do? Call USCIS?

We have been in this boat too. After getting the receipt e-mail/text on the 18th of June it wasn't until July 14th, a day after biometrics that the case finally showed on-line. Since then nothing. Similar to what happened with EAD last year.

I look at it as they are taking their time finding and dusting off the 130 as the interview will be for an IR card. We had an experience close to what Ali did with the local office last year. The stink-eye and bad attitude so we are just going wait some time before we go all Hues Corporation.

  13. There is a CTS at HKG

    http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/passenger/arrival/t1/visa-tourism-info/china-travel-service.html

Single entry and takes several hours. Use the time to cruise the airport because it's a great place.

If she's from one of the PRD cities that shuttles to the airport use the SkyPier

    http://www.hongkongairport.com/eng/transport/transport-connection-with-mainland-china/ferry-transfer/service-at-a-glance.html

It's also a great service and you will get a refund on you air ticket for the HK city fee. It's not much but the boys love the colorful HKD.

All depends on arrival time and last boat out what you need to do. As mentioned above, if she's planning to meet you there she will need a HK entry permit. Last time Yi met me there she had to wait about three weeks to get hers.

  14. ClockWatch2.gif Still waiting for our check to be cashed and a hard copy of our NOA1 letter.

This has to be one of the craziest parts of this whole process. We sit around and wait for the government to take our money and get excited when they do, 'cause it means somthings happen. I stayed up past 1 waiting for the bank to post the check image online.

    Congrats on the progress!
