  1. Will do. Thank you to everyone that has replied. I sent NVC an email and used their public inquiry form to update them on the situation. I will also continue to login to the portal at least once a month.
  2. Hello. So my wife and I (both living in Canada, she is a US citizen, I am not, she is sponsoring me.) got our case approved by USCIS and had our NVC case created in August last year. We paid the fees immediately and started the application but have not yet finished it as we are not ready to schedule an interview and leave Canada. I just wanted to ask on here for those of you who have had NVC cases go on longer than a year, how did you make sure NVC didn't delete your case? I've read that all you need to do is login to the NVC portal every so often but I don't really trust that. We do eventually want to finish the application, schedule the interview, and move to the US, but right now we are not ready and we really do not want NVC to delete our case. Is there an email I can reach them at and explain things?
  3. Hi sorry for the very late reply, I have a couple of questions. 1. If she were to move back to the US and find a job there, how long would she need to keep that job for Montreal to approve our application? Like how long does it take to prove you have the income? Are we talking a couple of paystubs? or do they want to see tax returns showing a year of work? 2. You mentioned that Canadians can visit during this process, how long would I be allowed to stay there if I were to visit? I was under the impression that I am not allowed into the states during this time or I would forfeit my application. Also would I be allowed to go into the states with her if and when she moves or would border patrol not like that?
  4. Thank you for moving this to the appropriate forum. No viable assets unfortunately.
  5. Hello so I am a Canadian citizen and my wife is a US citizen. We are currently living in Canada and working in Canada. Our I-130 was approved from USCIS and now we are at the NVC stage. Problem is since she has Canadian income and not a US based income I don't think it will count for the affidavit of support. We have tried looking for a joint sponsor with no luck. From my understanding the only way we are going to be approved is if she can provide sufficient US income which means she either has to move back to the US and find a job, or find a remote job in the US. Is there any other way around this or are these our only options? We don't want to be split apart and the chance of her finding a remote job seems impossible so we're just kinda defeated and ready to give up on this whole process.
