  1. There is no acknowledgement of completing and sending in packet 3, however, they do take 5 to 6 days to reply to you for packet 4. And sometimes they forget to attach the packet, so you have to reply and ask for the packet.
  2. Hello, My beneficiary submitted packet 3 on Monday to the email they specified in the packet, with the instructions of the subject line's specific formatting (CASE_NUMBER - DS-160 CEAC # BARCODE). We received an auto-reply that didn't acknowledge anything about submitting packet 3, so I'm a bit worried that we had done it wrong. I'm wondering if anyone has had the same experience? How long did it take for packet 4 to arrive? Email starts out as follows: "Thank you for your inquiry to the Immigrant Visa Unit at U.S. Consulate General Montreal. Please refer to the Immigrant Visa Navigator for information regarding visa applications and services offered by the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal." The email continues with information on how to find guides/help and website links.
  3. Are you sure about this? From the instructions of the I-134, it seems more that they want to know about everything I have in order to make sure my fiance isn't reliant on government programs after he immigrates here. My income from my 1040/W-2 and other tax documents is way over enough.
  4. I scheduled an appointment in-person with a relationship banker from the financial institution. I wrote in the the comments for the appointment about needing the evidence for the I-134, and they called me and asked me to clarify further. Then I've been exchanging calls and emails with the same banker for a few weeks now. I understand that should be an easy fulfillment, since really they only have to write a statement. I'm partnered with one of the top financial institutions in the country, so I'm surprised that they've never received a similar request like this before. It might be because of the state I'm from and the branch, where they've never received a request like this before, but I'm still very surprised at this. You would think another bank within the state would have knowledge about what I'm asking, but apparently they don't.
  5. I opened the account online and plus that was over a decade ago, so I don't have a folder or any of that paper work. Plus it says the statement from the financial institution needs to be signed by an official of the bank, and that probably includes them dating their signature.
  6. Hello, I'm at the point in my K1 journey where my fiance needs me (the petitioner) to fill out form I-134. The instructions in that form ask me to provide evidence of my finances, which is not a big deal at first, but my main financial institution is having a really hard time trying to fulfill this request of evidence. I've given them the exact instruction from the I-134 instructions: "File evidence of income and resources, as appropriate: 1. Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions with deposits, identifying the following details regarding the account: A. Date account opened; B. Total amount deposited for the past year; and C. Present balance." For the last threes weeks, the update I've requested weekly from an agent at my financial institution is "we're reaching out to our higher ups to figure out how to provide this information." I'm wondering if current petitioners filling this form out or past petitioners that have, also had a hard time with this?
  7. Thanks for the update! I had sent an inquiry on Monday and got my case number today! We are over the moon. I hope its smooth sailing for you and yours! Cheers!
  8. Same boat here. NOA2 approval Oct 15, Sent to DOS Dec 17. Crickets ever since. Two inquiries to the NVC, next week I'll be sending a third. Definitely the holiday slow down effecting those sent before the Christmas holiday in the US, unfortunately.
  9. I'm not waiting to get a new place, there's just not a ton of leasing options in the area for a January 1st move in that also allow dogs, and "large" dogs at that (ours is 60lbs). Landlords in my area most of the time are no pets. That includes cities and towns outside of my area, within an hour. There's a ton of more options that open up in February/March in my area usually, that's what trends have reported for the last 2 years. I'm expecting USCIS to change our case status to “Case Has Been Transferred To The Department Of State” in at least 30 days due to trends with other users getting approved in August/September. Its just an unfortunate timing all around. You still bring up a very good idea, thanks for your input.
  10. Sorry, I didn't make it clear in my post. Yes, I'm a US citizen and I live in the US. I'm planning on getting a new lease and I can easily have mail forwarded to my place of work temporarily via USPS during the move to the new physical address. I guess I'm worried on my Fiance's behalf. From what you said, it sounds like when he files the DS-160, he can just put the new physical address instead, which is awesome to hear. The NVC doesn't care about where he will live at all, its only once that he gets to the interview stage, they care. Thanks for your insight.
  11. Hi everyone, February 2025 filer. My petition was approved on October 14th, 2025. I currently live in an apartment which the lease will end December 31. I have the option to go to month to month after the end of the lease. This apartment's address was used in my I-129F petition. The main issue is, the current apartment will not allow dogs. My fiance and I have a dog together from when I was living with him pre-February 2025 (I was in Canada on a work visa for 3 years), which that dog is currently living at his place of residence in Canada. Once my fiance moves here, I will have to be living in an apartment that allows dogs. I'm wondering if anyone has had to change their address during the petition process before? I'm assuming that its not easy it to inform the NVC (I'm also assuming that the petition even getting to the NVC at this point will be late December or early January 2026) or the U.S. Consulate/Embassy in Montreal about where my fiance and I will reside during this Visa process. Please let me know if anyone has any insight. Thank you.
