    OP should check with army legal but as I understand it these days what is required is notifying the commander, not asking for permission - this is what we were told my army legal. I am aware this is an old thread but I am posting for anyone who may want current input on this topic.

    Hi. Thank you. Someone online said 3 lawyers had told them that they are not being processed. It seems like a crazy thing to lie about but then you do get some weird people online. It put so much fear into me.

    I feel like there is a lot of fear mongering on the internet right now due to Trump's changes. I simply want to know if the CR1 visas are still being approved at this moment in time? Or if anything has ground to a halt? We are hoping to submit our CR1 in February 2026.
