    I should have been more careful on saying "getting married" words. Plan is, meet face-to-face first, then enagement then marry. In the mean time, check what are our best options, what documents needed etc. First issue found was Birth certificate/Password issue. Once that is resolved, then we have to discuss and decide on K1 (hold marriage till it approved and get married in US) or CR 1 (2 years wait in India) topic. One step at a time...

    In our case, we plan to meet face to face first time this month. Easy to prove with passport intrnational travel log and video/phone call log of past 5 months. Exploring options on K1 Vs CR1.

    Which center processes K1 and CR1 applications for NC resident? I do not know which center to select to see the current processing time.

    Thank you TBoneTX. Waiting time is biggest concen. At this time K1 time is at 8 months Vs CR1 18 months.

    >Is the date on birth on passport wrong? Yes >What took you so long to notice? No excuse. Never needed it. In India, it is common to use tenth grade certicate for DOB. I posted it in K1 forum as we are also considering fiancee route to save time. I should have mentioned in OP.

    Indian Citizen: Birth date on passport and birth certicate is off by 10 days. Passport is 6 years old. Indian goverment site says: if the applicant was a major when his/her first passport with incorrect date of birth was issued, he/she can correct it, within five years of issue of the first passport. No change of date of birth is allowed afterwards. Getting married to US citizen this month and want to apply for VISA. What should I do?
